fwiw i don't think it'll be super fruitful to analyze nova's reads since i think he was a good kill choice precisely because his reads weren't very developed and yet he was a pretty universal townread. that's pretty much an optimal kill target -- someone who is commonly accepted as town, but who didn't actually provide a ton of content for us to delve in and analyze as motivation/spew.

I think I'm just going to start tinfoiling everyone right now. Nutella saying that Sloonei was lolcatting is a pretty clear misrep, he was barely there at all and certainly didn't make any jokes or flail like a caught scum. I don't really understand how town viewing that same chat could come to that conclusion (maaaaybe if they're heavily confbiased). I think I'm going to have to reevaluate pretty completely since Hally and Nutella were two of my top townreads but now I have some reason to think both of them are suspicious - and at the same time Alison's push on me seems like a losing one if she's mafia so she's actually looking a little better.

Glad to know my possible tinfoil read was wrong, but I had hoped if I was wrong I would've realized that if they lived longer to make posts that I would see as towny.

That isn't to say I was overall scum-reading him, but I was definitely considering the possibility of it for D2 or D3 re-evaluation since their entrance rubbed me the wrong way.

i don't have the context of what happened in the treehouse, and i think that's a missing puzzle piece for why the vibe of today is so different, but i really hope we continue w/the same level headed and clear communication that all of us showed on day one. exploring all possibilities is a good thing, but paranoia isn't. i know that the carotte flip sucks, but i don't see a reason to feel panicked yet

tbh the people im immediately intending to dig into today are sloonei/alison/jagged - and probably in that order. i do not think all of those names are likely to be town, and the dynamic between them is worth exploring regardless. i know that you guys are waiting for hally to respond to something before you link the treehouse, but i hope that i can look at it soon - i feel like im missing a big portion of the game

I wouldn't entirely discount the idea. I do tend to doubt though that Alison pointedly resists Thunal's growing town credit by putting forth a contrary case against her if they're both mafia. That doesn't strike me as an optimal play, and Alison is someone for whom optimality is more important than the average bear.

That's interesting, I haven't played in a game that isn't this setup where nights were open. Does Sloonei usually contribute a lot during the night? He did start looking better than he did previously near EoD, but not good since he piled on Carotte with everyone else. He also had to post his way out of suspicion no matter his alignment so him posting more is pretty NAI for him.

Also, there was so much agreement yesterday I found it odd especially since I wasn't quite aligned with the thread consensus. It seems like scum were not only content with the Carotte wagon but also content on some level with the consensus PoE (Sloonei/Alison/Carotte/LC) so I'm inclined to think that maybe we're on the wrong track.

I don't always get to a solid town read quickly, but I usually do. I also think this is the first time you've shared a stance on me, and we're already a full cycle into the game. I liked your initial defense of me, but was wary because mafia Jay would need to do those things to not draw my attention. I didn't have a firm read to offer on Day 1 and wanted to see how things developed. This push on me feels to be coming from a place of real concern.

I signed up for this game so that I could get back into playing mafia without it consuming my life. I don't intend to do all of the things I usually do, and I'm not up for that anyway. But I will hopefully be doing things that make it obvious I am town soon enough.

Thunal and Alison are names I would like to dig into today, and I've already seen others float them. That is encouraging.

I was not invested in it, yeah. I did not have anything to say and had other things to do in my life. I was at work yesterday evening, and was Taking Care of Business all afternoon today. The night result had been settled in here during Day 1.
