The Simpsons [GAME OVER]

Re: The Simpsons [DAY 3]
Why do you think that post is extremely townie Marge? Feels like something a wolf can easily pick up on to shade or kick start a fake case, doesn't have to be necessarily w/w

Re: The Simpsons [DAY 3]
i guess i looked at it being villagery because the progression was
"gosh, Grumple fell off the stairs from d1 to now" and then they make that post?
idk, seeing it as a bit silly for a wolf to make on a villager
don't see the point, felt like I can see the gears turning, like they noticed someone wasn't active, they look for their posts and spot something
and I don't think wolves come up with that after saying it lol
idk, resonates with me

"out of all of the posts they had in their ISO, Lisa is gonna point out that thing?"
type of mindset I have behind the read
type of mindset I have behind the read
Re: The Simpsons [DAY 3]
Why not? I mean obviously not as the whole base of a case but like it's an easily fake-able ping. I fail to see how it's got a civilian mindset behind it.Marge Simpson wrote: ↑Fri Oct 30, 2020 3:50 pmWhen does a wolf ever use that as a crutch for a push?
Burns made a mention of it as well I think lol
Re: The Simpsons [DAY 3]
That's fair
Re: The Simpsons [DAY 3]
And good post. I like your thoughts process and how you read the game, I always make those kind of reads based on how posts make me feel and what I perceive to be the idea behind them

Re: The Simpsons [DAY 3]
i'm not really thinking it's anything explicitly civvie-motivated rather than just...not wolf motivated.
i struggle to find a wolf faking that type of read and for what reasons. not sure if as a wolf you'd go to that length?
i mean, who would have ever thought about that type of stuff?
maybe you're right but ime I'd say that stuff is kinda hard to fake as a wolf unless it's w/w
Re: The Simpsons [DAY 3]
Thoughts on Alison? I feel like she's the least reconsidered among active people so far.
I keep coming back to this thought I had about her affect on the game so far. Kind of fits someone content with how the game is developing?Hugh Jass wrote: ↑Fri Oct 30, 2020 9:26 am I feel like you've been going at the game one target at a time each phase. I don't think it's inherently a bad thing especially if someone is confident in their reads, but you don't give off that vibe. And it also stands in stark contrast with your earlier assessment on the state of the game.

I have her in PoE but would always love seeing her go after other people.

Re: The Simpsons [DAY 3]
I get the angle of thoughts that usually don't pop in the heads of wolves but like here it's pretty tame I feel since the drop off in activity and Grumple's many questions were pretty noticeable imo. It's the kind of stuff that I love to point out as scum because they're at a very superficial level. There is also like a lack of attachment to it and progression from her which usually happen when a townie gets pinged by something that no one has comment and especially when it results in an immediate read. Like an eureka moment that feels genuine lol. Here it comes off more as her wanting to put it lights I guess.Marge Simpson wrote: ↑Fri Oct 30, 2020 4:02 pmi'm not really thinking it's anything explicitly civvie-motivated rather than just...not wolf motivated.

Your take is alright though and I might be wrong
Re: The Simpsons [DAY 3]
That's basically the only negative phrase I had about her so far lmaoo
Re: The Simpsons [DAY 3]
She's been pretty townie, and I really liked her take on the game state and early on and what seemed to be concerns. It just hasn't materialized into urgency from her so that's the meh thing

krusty has been Low Energy and nitpicking weird things D3
Bart and Marge have shown up which is rad, but Marge's casing doesn't feel coherent to me
however I've only skimmed, so that could be a problem of personal comprehension and not, like, intrinsic to her behaviour

why the insistence on a burns vs lisa wagon based on their behaviour against each other and not like, a personal read on both
"they've been against each other all game so let's just rand it" is random af

Re: The Simpsons [DAY 3]
Marge has pointed out twice now a melodramatic "I read Homer as town D1 and look, look how right I was" without really connecting it to anything except a subtext that she is also town and we should listen to her because she knows who town is
which doesn't coherently parse in any reasonable way, we've all cased someone as town, based on gut or reads, and look at that, they flipped town. that doesn't exclusively grant us town cred because we looked at a name and went "town" and they flipped town
so appealing to emotion about a Homer NK doesn't make sense. we've ALL town-read someone who ended up flipping town. doesn't matter, why keep pointing it out? it's not a replacement for reading or defending. It's not like she was some outspoken defendant of Homer, she just quoted his poor D1 and went "looks towny to me" and that was that. he flipped town after being killed by wolves and now it's "woe is me, ignored defender of town"??? no

Re: The Simpsons [DAY 3]
like even on D1 you were acting like I kicked you in the nether region for even daring to town read homer
why is that part so important to you? are you saying it's wolfy that I'm doing it?
you've been struggling for 3 days to have any remote form of progression on me and it keeps getting stopped at exactly "he was right on Homer and I'm so hurt because of it"
move on

I can see someone being irked with the "I called it!" gloating. The agenda being you looking for TRs because of it. I read it as town tbh because it's so trolly lol

Re: The Simpsons [DAY 3]
everyone is cool except for the wagons

okay no
In order from worst to best in POE, Krusty > Marge > Lisa > Allison
But Krusty is worst due to similar behaviour with previous chops, so I'm not sure how much of a win that is likely to be
my read from my wall hasn't had reason to change, he took up confrontational positions in almost any conflict or wagon in the first half of the game. now he is just kinda coasting on ID guesses and wanting a thunderdome. Since he's a potential wagon himself it doesn't seem smart to coast or to reduce usability of reads
(and that comes right back to my paragraph above about how this is exactly like all the villagers we've chopped. "this is kinda bad play and nothing's really connecting," chopped, "oh, they were town")

mostly what Hugh said
But being right and pointing it out isn't my issue, and I've explained this a couple times
My issue is that you just throw out a position, don't really back it up beyond "lol idk, just cuz," and then when you happen to be right days later you immediately resort to AtE
When I gave you a hard time D1 about town-reading Homer you switched your vote from me and told me to drop it
At least this time you switched your vote to me and told me to drop it, a real change of pace
boy do I love using votes as a debate tool
