Did anyone else notice A Person's last minute vote-without-posting for Boogs? Ordinarily I would say it is too obvious, but it could be a desperation move of the last of the Moria Goblins.

Wow. Good job to the Elo-voters!
Hey, I'm actually with Boogs on this one. It looks like we have a choice, which I don't quite understand. If we have to take the one we didn't pack, we wouldn't have to decide whether or not to accept (per the host). But if we do decide, does it mean decide between food or drink?

I think the options are "receive a gift from the Elves according to the item you forgot", or "No, refuse their hospitality". Players who brought both are forced to refuse.

I am suspicious of Mongoose being Elohs partner. I'll be back later to explain why, I'm not 100% convinced because it almost seems too easy.

Woohoo! Good job, Rob! I would have probably voted for either Eloh or Mongoose, but this is a fantastic result! I can't think of a time I've ever seen us get 3 baddies by the end of Day 3. That's awesome!
@Host: So since I didn't vote in the Night 1 poll, should I treat that as having forgotton to pack both food and drink, or do I have to refuse the elf's hospitality because I was on vacation and a loser and not awesome and didn't vote at all?

Awesome work all! I was going to vote Elo but lost track of time. I haven't gotten a chance to review mongoose's posts so am hoping to do that as well as look at the boogs case.
I also don't know what I'm supposed to vote since I wasn't in the game yet :/ I don't drink but I do like me some food

You mentioned above that you stated "She hasn't contributed a single original thought."
However, If Eloh was indeed on a team (and thus she voted earlier to save/attempt to save a teammate) then wouldn't her teammates be feeding her some original things she could say, if she hasn't found her feet yet in such a large game?
Please let me know if this was not as coherent as I intended. I'm a bit in a rush to make it to yoga on time.
(Eloh, I hope it doesn't make you feel awkward me talking about you when you're in the room, sug).
Mongoose wrote:Okay, I see where you are going with this but I am a little leery of the causation-correlation thing. BUT if we can do a universal comparison to see which players NEITHER of them cited? I think that would be a good list to have, my friend. We might get some gold out of that. Further, if practically the only player neither of them mentioned was Elo, then I think you might be onto something.Turnip Head wrote:One player MP or FZ never mentioned:

Mongoose wrote:I'm not really saying anything yet; I gotta see the stats. However, if there were only 2 names neither cited, I'd really wanna know about it. And again, I'm leery of the causation = correlation argument, so even though Eloh is on that list -- that alone isn't enough to ensure my vote for her without some intense, corroborating evidence.
I got the impression that Mongoose did not want to suspect Eloh.Mongoose wrote: linki Kitty
Dude if she was that conspicuous and I was her teammate? I'd be super pissed.
And your impression is dead on. I do want to open the field more to just Eloh to a) ensure more thorough baddie hunting and b) to make sure a potentially-innocent Eloh doesn't get wrapped up in a flawed Causation = Correlation Gambit.I think she very easily could have voted me, and if she had known I was going to vote her, maybe she would have (I don't mean for petty retaliatory reasons, obv). But you know her a lot better, so you are the better judge of that.
In case there's a Lie Detector in this game (or an item) - I'm not on either baddie team. I also have pretty hair.
When there was potential evidence she (MP and FZ never mentioning her) she wanted to bring attention to others so that would not be considered so concrete.
I think the way she does it (admitting to it in the last quote) was really trying to sound like a civvie. It doesn't read genuine to me.
FZ was putting a lot of relying into the idea that I was MP's partner.FZ. wrote:Okay, since I'm going now on my vacation, I have to vote. Re: The Hobbit Mafia: Night 3
Ok, first off: an apology is in order, because the poll/post is worded poorly. It seemed clear to me, but that's only because I made it up. It definitely is not clear.
If you did NOT forget food or drink (for example, if you voted that you forgot a rope or diary, if you were not playing on Night 1, or if you forgot to vote in that poll), then it's probably simplest if you refuse the elf's hospitality. However...
If anyone has already voted an option that is not appropriate to their situation, you may PM me and I will announce your vote change in-thread. The poll can be changed when I put it in the Polls thread to reflect any changes as well. If you nee further clarification, please ask in thread or PM me and I'll be happy to answer for individual situations.
Once again, sorry for the confusion. I will try to make future Night polls more clear.

These interpretations are correct. If, and ONLY if, you voted that you forgot food or drink in the Night 1 poll, you may choose to receive what you forgot from the mysterious elf tonight. You may also choose to refuse.Turnip Head wrote:I think the options are "receive a gift from the Elves according to the item you forgot", or "No, refuse their hospitality". If you didn't forget drink but still REALLY want elven wine, you are welcome to it, I suppose. The mysterious elf did offer it, so he can't really do take-backsies without being a bad host.Metalmarsh89 wrote:I didn't forget anything (aside to vote in the Night 1 poll). Can I still have elven wine?

I am guessing Mongoose is not one of them? Do you think she is bad?Epignosis wrote:Yeah, that's what I think. I feel the stronger case if for K4J, and as much as I want him here playing, I can't let that go. Kitty, if you're a civ, I'm really sorry, but I have to make a decision now.
See you all on Saturday
She knew I wasn't. Therefore she was not being genuine here and thinking that I was on the other scum team.
I think she chose me over Mongoose for a reason (teammates).
The problem is Mongooses' vote for FZ.
But it is possible Mongoose placed it there not thinking that FZ would end up with so many votes (Heck, I didn't think she would!)
If I am being honest, Rey really helped reenforce my suspicion of FZ so I was thinking it wasn't him. He was vocal against her when no one else other than me, really, was. I guess it could be distancing gone wrong. Not sure how I feel about the idea of them being partners.

Re: The Hobbit Mafia: Night 3
Hi babes. Super quick post because I have people over but I'm being a sneaky sneak! I am relieved about Eloh. I freaking wrestled with that so much. Epi's streak still stands. I think this will be one of those games that we talk about in the future and its status as legendary is already cemented. "Remember when we lynched civs 3 days in a row?"
More tomorrow.
I am going to eat with the elf in hopes that it's like Persephone with the pomegranate and it means I'll never be able to leave Rivendell. Because that would be stellar.

oh I voted wrongRusstifinko wrote:Ok, first off: an apology is in order, because the poll/post is worded poorly. It seemed clear to me, but that's only because I made it up. It definitely is not clear.

Clarify, Host! Players who brought both are forced to refuse.
If you did NOT forget food or drink (for example, if you voted that you forgot a rope or diary, if you were not playing on Night 1, or if you forgot to vote in that poll), then it's probably simplest if you refuse the elf's hospitality. However...
See above: not voting = you didn't forget anything.birdwithteeth11 wrote: @Host: So since I didn't vote in the Night 1 poll, should I treat that as having forgotton to pack both food and drink, or do I have to refuse the elf's hospitality because I was on vacation and a loser and not awesome and didn't vote at all?
If anyone has already voted an option that is not appropriate to their situation, you may PM me and I will announce your vote change in-thread. The poll can be changed when I put it in the Polls thread to reflect any changes as well. If you nee further clarification, please ask in thread or PM me and I'll be happy to answer for individual situations.
Once again, sorry for the confusion. I will try to make future Night polls more clear.

Wow! And wrong again I was!
Excellent job guys, especially Rob! I blame my therapist: 'omg you should totally stop being overly analytical; go with your gut k.' Uhm no. :\
Anyway, I'll be out of town again and will be back only tomorrow. Sorries.

If I was only distancing myself from FZ, I am not very bright. FZ was literally the only suspicion I had during that time. WOuldn't you think that if I was only distancing I would have at least brought up someone else?
Epig, I would like you to answer that for me. Am I that unaware of proper distancing tactics that I would do what you are suggesting I might have done?
Sorry for missing the vote. I didn't forget about it and nothing physically kept me from voting, but it was my fault that I missed it.
Note: I had to delete the first quote in this string of quotes because of the 5 quote limit stuff.
