Hmmmmmm.....I must have missed this earlier. Very interesting...Kate wrote:Kate wrote:I think the most likely theory about the baddies voting patterns to be true would be to spread their votes across the choices. When I went back to reread HeMan, this was the first post. He voted for a vehicle that was not predicted to win nor was an "info giving" vehicle. I would understand wanting a fun ride, if you were actually riding it but just choosing it for the fun when its just a "pretend" ride? Makes me wonder.He-Man wrote:I dont care it takes me I want to arrive in style so I choose the vehicle that sounds the funnest to travel in.. Plus no one is messing with a battleram. Votes
Gotta say I can't wait to get stuck into this game love it
Also epig great opening post and love love love the art that goes with it. Top quality :>)
Here is my first reason.
I think He-Man is definitely getting a re-read from me later. But for now I need to finished getting ready for work.

I'm sorry if you misunderstood my post.He-Man wrote:So I tried to explain myself you say I didn't make sense earlier but you understand now.

IMO day zero polls are just a way to get discussion going and unless you have info are kinda pot luck. So I stand by my decision to choose the one that sounded the most enjoyable.
What I said was that the post I was responding to was clear.
Your earlier posts were NOT clear.
What I meant, and I assumed you understood, was that you were back and forth in your earlier posts. I never changed my opinion of your earlier posts, nor did I ever say I did.

I am pretty sure BF is on the level and I am concerned that the baddies are coordinating their votes for him. I agree with MP on this.

It seems He-Man is ignoring any actual thoughts about him. Look, dude, I'm not going to explain it all in detail AGAIN why you got my vote because I don't have time. If you really want to know, read my posts.

Re: [Day 1] Masters of the Universe Mafia
Oh, okay, I misunderstood you then. I do think they are, but only if He-Man turns up baddie. If he doesn't, then IDK. It could be that they have civvie BTSC, but I very highly doubt it, for many reasons. One of which I want to point out is that when I asked LT directly yesterday about whether she had a reason to believe He-Man was good, she specifically ignored that part of my post, which again, reinforces that I think I'm right.birdwithteeth11 wrote:Because the quote I'm referencing makes me feel more strongly about BF than I currently do about Boomslang and LT.MovingPictures07 wrote:This strikes me as pingy. Why not vote for Boomslang or LT then? And how could you find LT bad but not even mention He-Man?birdwithteeth11 wrote:Yeah, I'm starting to think the "take my theory and suck it" part was a little more than just frustrated BF. That makes me think his defense was not genuine and it really bothers me that he keeps going over the Stridor vs. non-Stridor thing. I agree with timmer that it seems like a way to waste our time and focus. And right now it seems like we might be getting something useful from Day 1 ON Day 1 rather than in the aftermath. But yeah, I was leaning toward Boomslang and LT, but I think my vote is going to be going with BF today.
Votes BF
I didn't say I found LT bad (if I did, then it was poorly worded). I thought I said I found her overly-defensiveness pingy. I find He-Man is definitely pingy too, but I'm voting based on who I feel most strongly about right now. Do you think LT and He-Man are connected somehow?
My reasoning isn't the greatest argument in the world, but it's the best I have, and it's mostly backed by gut. I'm NOT wishy washy, I even SAID yesterday that I appreciated your explanation and understood, but it didn't make me feel any better about you. Nearly my exact words.He-Man wrote:I don't support discussion for non voters I support discussion. Which is why I don't think BF is bad.
I am confused by the math that's not all woe is me it's fact. I never use spread sheets I never have vote orders. I go by gut always.
Also how many people have tried to 're direct' away from me to BF?
I respect your reason I think it's flawed and one could argue your re directing the thread away from BF / reywas especially as you understood what my position was yesterday when I explained it yet today I'm bad again. Talk about wishy washy
Linki
I'm sorry, but I really think I'm onto something.
This is such BS, I gave you plenty of chances to defend! And you did! I still voted for you because I definitely most think you're baddie out of anyone here.He-Man wrote:I see MP voted me without hearing me out... Meh

Re: [Day 1] Masters of the Universe Mafia
Oh, and I want to comment on something AATB said, because I think it makes a lot of sense. In theory, judging behavior based solely on the game at hand is the ultimate strategy and what should occur. I sometimes do think as a community we can focus too much on past reads, behavior in past games, etc. However, I will admit to there being some help that when you've played a lot of games with someone, you can kind of get a feel for how they play, depending on the relationship you have with them. Sometimes you can't. I found I've played with some people at least 20 times and still can't read them that well.
Thanks for responding. I know it can be easy to miss a direct question; I just thought it was weird you didn't respond to that part of it. That clarification does help, since I thought there might have been a possibility otherwise.
I understand. Maybe I am wrong, but all I can do is use all of the thread information that I have to make an informed decision, so I feel I should stick with my gut. And my gut is feeling strong on this one. I don't have a perfect track record, but I don't think anyone can claim that.LittleTiger wrote:MP - I just didn't see what you say you saw with regard to He-Man, I still don't to be perfectly honest. Re: [Day 1] Masters of the Universe Mafia
All this snarky-ness is making me not want to play. It's sad that we all can't get along playing a simple game of mafia without name calling or general snarky behavior.
That said I am not sure I really want to vote based on this type of play style.
I did get pinged by Teeth and his vote post.
I did reread Rey/bf and felt they both may be civ it is waaayyy too early for me to say one way or the other but I still got the feeling that they were misunderstanding each at first which lead to bf finally realizing what Rey was on about ( him giving Stridor riders a pass for this first lynch).
As for HeMan and MP idhafc! I am unable to to read Heman (i have never guessed his alignment correctly in a game) as for MP I feel I can read him better and called him out as baddie the last game we played together I was right but he got me lynched first (I was a baddie too lol)
All this said I am not sure I want to vote for any of these four.
I am just not feeling it since the snark started I will be back after thinking about my vote.

Honestly, I agree. I need to hear more against He-Man before I am convinced he is bad. I'm also not sure why Boom goes from being vehemently against BF to suddenly changing his mind, seemingly without explanation.LittleTiger wrote:This pings the hell out of me. Re: [Day 1] Masters of the Universe Mafia
I am going to be keeping a running list of my thoughts as I read through the thread.
I can't agree with Timmer more here. Honestly I was a bit of a shock to see this much talk on day one. It makes me very excited for the rest of the game.
thellamma brings this idea of picking off nonparticipants up a lot. I typically find this is something the mafia like to put out there, as it is easy to vote for someone who isn't playing. It gives them a reason to lynch a possible civie while still keeping their hands clean. I don't like it.
So I've read all the way through now. Here are my thoughts.
I don't think BF deserves a vote I am also not convinced to vote for He-Man. Right now it is between Boomslang, and thellama.
I am going to vote for thellamma.

Honestly, I just enjoy playing with people who speak more than people who don't. That was my only reasoning. If you'll notice, I didn't end up voting for a non-participant.

I do realize you didn't end up voting for a non=participant. But I think even suggesting it was a little suspicious. Sort of like testing out the waters to see if you can jump right in. No one really took to the idea, so I think that is why you didn't go through with it. thellama

Stopped in real quick to vote for boomslang. Let's start revealing the truth about who is who!!!
My son picked this "smiley." He said, "I want the one that says bad words and yells." How did he find out that things like @*?#% mean a bad word? He is only FIVE!

Re: [Day 1] Masters of the Universe Mafia
I just noticed that reptaronice voted without posting. He voted for Boomslang--I am curious as to whether he came in and voted for someone that he saw already had a fair number of votes, or if he has BTSC and someone told him to vote for Boomslang...granted, he's apparently new to the game so maybe he didn't know he should post when he votes.
Anyway, I am torn between the top 3 candidates--blindfaeth, Boomslang, and He-Man. I can see the cases on all 3 and I think the fact that at least two of those players have people defending them isn't giving me warm fuzzy feelings.
I really, really don't want to be a tie breaker, especially if my gut is leading me astray, but I am going to *vote blindfaeeth* and hope my gut isn't betraying me!
My reasons:
1) He was the first to suggest the idea that the baddie teams each had one teammate vote for Stridor and then said that we should give the Stridor voters a pass (and he was a Stridor voter)
2) He got flustered and contradicted himself during his conversation with reywaS
3) There appears to be a subtle push away from voting for him in this lynch which might be baddie teammates trying to re-direct the attention elsewhere

Oh dear FH, your gut HAS led you astray
With that, I think it is likely my lynch is nigh, so I have some last minute stuff to say.
#1, of course, I've looked over the roles, and don't see anyone with lynch switch or rez abilities, but if someone with secrets has the capability, I would be eternally grateful if you decided to use it on me.
#2, I decided I would share the info I gained from the Stridor vote, since I think everyone knowing the info, including the baddies, is better than only a dead civvie knowing the info. I hope you can use it to your advantage. Basically, I was allowed to ask the Stridor to give me more detail about one area in the light hemisphere, so I chose Avion. The Stridor told me it was a towering city, and its mortal enemies are the Illkorts, and they have in the past emerged from underneath the mountains. They want to capture an "Egg of Avion" that allows the Avionian people to fly. If they are successful in removing said egg from their temple, the Avionians will no longer be able to fly.
Again, I hope I survive, but if not, I'm willing to risk it and post this in hopes it can be used for the greater good.
One last thing.
Don't forget the woes I suffered today lightly. Lynch reywaS tomorrow.
That is all, good luck civvies, I hope to see you on the other side.

I don't think He-Man may be as baddie anymore, honestly. The way Boomslang and timmer latched onto that felt very baddie bandwagony to me and I'm beginning to think I'm on the wrong track with that one, just for those reasons.
We'll see how BF flips, but I also found FH's last-minute vote to put BF over Boomslang a bit pingy as well. While I thought the same exact thing about reptaronice's vote when I saw he voted without posting, it could be that she is pointing that out to avoid seeming Boomslang's teammate. But this is all assuming BF is good and Boomslang is bad.

You seem to have specific reason to believe He-Man is good. Is this true?Snow Dog wrote:I have come to a decision. Even though i know him from another forum it is with regret that my suspicions fall on MovingPictures07. he gets my vote. Sorry Alex.

No nothing specific. You must understand as a first timer this is difficult for me. But the waynhe has answered your posts and justified himself seems more than reasonable to me.MovingPictures07 wrote:You seem to have specific reason to believe He-Man is good. And typically a coin is flipped, so one of them will be lynched. Based on the way this lynch went down, I'm hoping it's Boomslang. But we'll see. Maybe I'm wrong.

Idk why, but his vote for Vomps made me feel weird. Nothing totally major, but randomizing seems to be getting me eyes nowadays so I try to use something now.MovingPictures07 wrote:Why, must I ask?DisgruntledPorcupine wrote:Missed the vote by two minutes. Would have voted BF.

I have a method for ties, but I am not prepared to post, and it's time for guitar club here. I'll be home in about 45 minutes.

Re: [Day 1] Masters of the Universe Mafia
I'm trying to make the decision today (because I just got my notice to schedule from the state) whether I should take the first part of my CPA exam next Wednesday the 27th or if I should wait. The problem is there's no testing during March so I would have to wait until early April. But I'm not sure if I will feel comfortable enough on Regulation even if I kick ass and review it the next 7 days. I have been working on Financial (the second part I'm going to take) the last two weeks since I didn't want to fall behind with the Becker class schedule AND because I wasn't sure I'd even be able to get my test scheduled in time for February. I want to get Regulation over with, but I have to balance my other class to. And this game isn't helping!
I know most, if not all of you don't care, but whatever. Lol.
You either need to read the thread or get the info right from your BTSC.
