Re: [Day 1] Masters of the Universe Mafia
Aargh, I forgot about it this morning and just got home! I would have gone with BF, because he did seem to be trying to steer the lynch away from Stridor voters (including himself), and being overly aggressive, especially in voting for reywaS. But now that he's shared info I'm thinking I would have made a bad call if I had voted.
EBWOP: And I haven't seen Boomslang as being as pingy or defensive as some say, but I need to go back and read more.

Re: [Day 1] Masters of the Universe Mafia
I can take it again. I just have to shell out another $250, lol. I am leaning that way currently, especially because it would be awesome to knock one of the four out now so I can take Financial in April. Need a 75% to pass. I have watched all the lectures, taken notes, and done all the homework for Regulation once. I've been going back today and also like two weeks ago to do some of it a second time. I'm getting like 55-75% on most of the sections now instead of like 40-65% (totally depends on the subsection/topic). It's just crazy because I keep thinking to myself, I've done all of these one time, in theory I should be getting them ALL correct now. I think the hardest part is just the absolute plethora of information you need to remember. Regulation is all tax and law, lol, so it comes down to whether you know your rules or not, essentially.Kate wrote:I care! Can you take it again if you don't pass? @MP: Honestly both BF and Boomslang pinged me--for me it came down to who pinged me more and it was BF. I am worried now because of his revealing the info, but I have seen baddies pull the last minute civvie plea before so I'm not ready to buy it just yet. If I'm wrong then I hope Boomslang loses the tie and is a baddie!
And as far as Day 1's go in games, this one was pretty darn spectacular!

Re: [Day 1] Masters of the Universe Mafia

Day 1: Impasse
In the main courtyard of the Village of Veridas, accusations came forth, many singling out those who had ventured forth on Stridor. Talk became bitter and defensive. Several people merely stood there, gazing at the ground, their nerves delivering them into a silent panic.
A vocal minority became resolute. But another, equally vehement minority argued in favor of someone else’s death. Someone would die that day, but who? Truth could not be delayed, and yet, it was.
The sunset threw a sanguine glow upon the village where they had initially sought deliverance. An impasse, after so much aggressive talk, was evident.
“blindfaeth must perish!” cried birdwithteeth11.
“Boomslang is evil- I know it!” said AllAlongtheBoardwalk.
With these cries in the air, the two mobs encircled the two suspects.
Crying out in anguish, blindfaeth felt a blow to the back of the head. One among their number took a spear, still sticky with the blood of one of the marauders, and drove it through a meaty thigh.
llama73 used his fists on Boomslang’s face, while the others pierced the howler several times with their weapons.
Those who had stood idly jumped in, either to increase the violence or try to defend one of the accused.
Chaos had erupted.
“Stop this now!” cried a passionate Ladeena over the din of the fighting. Her sudden plea seemed to diminish the spell that compelled their attacks. She was crying out in agony over what she was witnessing. By then a crowd had gathered around them.
Ladeena, despising her father for his coercive measure, cried out, “Castle Grayskull is just to the north! Perhaps you can seek peaceful revelations there.”
The bitter accusers could not argue the chief's daughter. They all knew that they would have to use their skills and powers- for their new forms did not rob them of their talents- in order to determine the truth of their identities in a more practical manner.
The thirty set forth to seek the arcane counsel that Grayskull may have for them. The two injured travelers hung on the shoulders of their respective defenders, and many of them exchanged vile, bruised gazes.

Re: [Day 1] Masters of the Universe Mafia

Night 1: Castle Grayskull
Sandspurs stuck to the travelers’ feet and the air grew more humid. A light rain took to the task of washing the grime and blood from their bodies, which grew wearier as the evening set in. Distant peals of thunder rumbled in the distance. Lightning flashed in ominous streaks.
It was as though they had forgotten where they were going, when over the horizon, it appeared.
Cyclopean masonry came into view, the greenish gray walls of the legendary Castle Grayskull. It towered high above them, a perfect symbol of ancient wisdom, strength, and all that is mysterious.
As the party considered what to do, and as some worried about their desperately injured companions, the cacophony of a descending drawbridge came upon them. As they approached the gate, they could see a green and gray mist take form in the mouth of the castle. In their hearts, they recognized the ancient Spirit of Grayskull.
It’s pulsating voice was not audible; it was as though the message imprinted itself feely in the recesses of their minds.
“The Sorceress...”
It repeated this phrase in the minds of each individual until the syllables blended into an undecipherable mass of phonemes. Then the phrase took shape, and formed a new, unuttered message.
They perceived that there was a shield wedged in two of the molars of the structure- the Shield of Grayskull. And that whoever possessed it would be protected against any stroke that came by night.
And that the shield grew heavy over time, such that it would have to be passed to someone else who would bear the burden for a while.
It seemed that the Spirit was searching for The Sorceress, and that it could faintly detect her. It wanted her counsel as to who should receive it.
At last the thirty determined that they must take another vote to determine who would be the first shieldbearer. They could not afford to be unwise.
It is now Night 1. You have 24 hours to send in your PMs.

@Robert, was the lynch a tie? If so, is the fact that no one was lynched a result of a lynch stop or is this how you are handling ties?
Not sure if you can answer that, but it's worth a try.

From the wording, it seems that someone stepped in and stopped the lynch.... ???
Seems to me that Ladeena stopped the lynching.“Stop this now!” cried a passionate Ladeena over the din of the fighting. Her sudden plea seemed to diminish the spell that compelled their attacks. She was crying out in agony over what she was witnessing. By then a crowd had gathered around them.

Who's Ladeena? Maybe I'm just crazy, but I don't see that in the roles.Elohcin wrote:LittleTiger wrote:Fantastic posts, Epignosis!!

Great post, Epignosis! You are certainly doing those of us that grew up on He-Man proud.
Interesting lynch result. I'll have to look at the roles and read the post again.

I was thinking this too. I don't really trust anyone more than myself for this night poll, if I understand it correctly. But then it becomes a howevermanyway-tie.Snow Dog wrote:What if everyone votes for themself on this one?

In any case, anyone who votes for someone other than themselves will be sure to attract a lot of attention.

Well, I voted myself, because I don't see why I wouldn't want to be the first to bear the shield of Grayskull.

Bah. Sorry everybody. The vote ended while I was in school today. I'll do better to keep track of end times so I can vote early if necessary. Interesting result from the vote though, surprised that nobody died. Going to have to go reread roles and see if i can get an idea of what happened.

Re: [Night 1] Masters of the Universe Mafia
I know that. But that tells me that no particular role likely stopped this, which, given Robert's response regarding ties, makes me wonder if every tie will result in a no lynch. Which is unconventional, but something I could totally see him doing.Elohcin wrote:She is not in the roles, she is in the story.MovingPictures07 wrote:Who's Ladeena? Of course, there's some secrets in roles too, so maybe it's that.

So AnnaDanielle, who didn't vote on the lynching, now mysteriously votes for Snow Dog as shield bearer without posting... O.o
