Another question? ;)

It's always hard to tell with non-participants, especially erratic ones like INH. He could be a baddie laying low, he could have just gotten bored and wandered off. I am a little wary because of what happened with Vomps, but I find the fact that he was relying on a legitimate real life excuse that has now disappeared without a corresponding change in behavior suspicious.

You are right that he overreacted to the discussion about him. Then again, if there's anyone I expect to overreact, it's him.

I would consider tossing a vote his way if you feel strongly about it. I have to confess I am very confused today. Every time I think I have built a good case on a player, they come back with what sounds like a really honest defense, so I don't know where I'm voting yet.

I find Dom's questions pretty typical for him, llama. I don't think that it is indicative of his baddie game.
I've brought up my suspicion of inh before. I think he is
using the Vomps lynch to his advantage (Figuring we won't want to lynch another player for their off topic posting). I still think it's likely he is the last of the Moira Goblins based
off his interactions with MP and FZ.

Sorry I haven't been more active than I have been. I figured it would get better after last Thursday, and it has some. In that I can actually follow along. But I want to finish catching up, and then discuss several players.

Snow Dog, I would still like to know who the shady people actually were. To me, it seems you used that language as rhetoric. You have also yet to have a suspicion since your non-lynch, nor did you really have one during your non-lynch.

I'm not going to highlight everyone here, but I'll go over the people I do have somewhat concrete thoughts and ideas on. And I'll do it alphabetically, because I like organization in my mafia! :D

Dom - I think he's being sincere about being busy IRL, and has been as active as his time has allowed. I really don't find all of his questions suspicious, because that's generally how he plays. I think Dom likes to take the temperature of the room every so often, so to speak. However, if most or all of those quotes/questions that llama pulled up are all one-liners, and Dom isn't contributing his own thoughts (I feel like he has), then I would start to feel more suspicious of him.

Epignosis - Rob is generally a very hard person to read, although he does have several tells (no, I will not share them :P) if he is bad. I don't see those here though. In fact, I see a fairly normal Epig right now. I think he's going after people because he genuinely finds them suspicious. And I don't think he's using thread evidence in a way that it's setting people up for future events or potential targets, so I feel like he's civ for now.

INH - He's really dropped off my radar. I know he said he was busy with hosting that other game, and I can understand that. But if that game has indeed ended, I would expect to see him becoming more active again. That doesn't feel good to me at all.

K4J - I was all gung-ho to vote for him today, but some of his defenses are making me back off and wonder. Mostly because they seem really genuine to me. If he is bad, I think it's far more likely that he is a Town Goblin than Smaug.

Metalmarsh - Next time you have a forced vote, dude, try to make it a little less obvious. If we can figure it out by reading between the lines, that's fine. But don't make it so blatant next time plskthx.

Snow Dog - He's been fairly quiet (I was going to say silent, but he's posted today so there you go) since his almost-lynch. My guess is he isn't saying much because he doesn't think that there is anything he can convince us of to make us think he's good. If I can think of any other questions besides the one I asked that might convince him to share more thoughts with us, I will ask them.

I am free all of today, and am by no means decided on who I'm going to vote for yet. But I have several directions I could go.

Linki: Somehow I missed that post from Kyle. I would like to hear back from him why he was curious to learn who CBK was.

Interesting. So he's had 8 full real-life days to get back into the swing of things, and is now on #9 and hasn't done so. I can understand being busy, but I would think in that period of time, he would be able to check in at least.

No, I am reading your posts, but I am asking you to confirm that it was rhetoric to sway people from voting AP and into voting Boogs.
Because a "comeback" with "no one in particular in mind" would qualify as just that. You also conveniently are returning to a suspicion that I just outlined the hell out of.

Put it this way, Dom. I never entirely dropped my suspicions of INH. You bringing it up here just brings it forward again in my mind. Everything you say seems reasonable.

Let's play the game, shall we?
Dom wrote: However, there are two people that I am wondering about more than K4J. They are insertnamehere and Snow Dog. I am not sure that just because Turnip Head was bad that means that Snow Dog is good.

In addition, I feel that INH has created this false equivalency between the case on him and the case on Boogs. INH instantly flew off the handle for being "hounded". However, the facts are not on his side. INH has not received nearly as many votes, he has not been discussed nearly as much, there has not been nearly as much attention, and his name has been brought up while he falls to the shadows. I'd admit that the amount of "hounding" was not as extreme as in Boog's case, but it was in the same nature. I didn't mean that I was being "hounded" as much as Boogs, I just thought it was similar to what he claimed. I am, of course, referring to this post.
Llama, his participation has also dropped off significantly. INH has not posted a remotely on topic response since Day 7 (when Boogs has brought him up and he made that erroneous post I talked about).
O RLY?

Examples: http://mafiathesyndicate.com/viewtopic. ... 827#p70827 http://mafiathesyndicate.com/viewtopic. ... 648#p70648

Maybe those two aren't very intensively "game-focused", but they are more than "remotely on topic".

He also grossly exaggerated a 'case' on Epig here. I'm not sure what the hell you mean here, Rey was posting a case on Epig, and I said that I didn't agree with it. Playing the game is "fear-mongering" to you? I found that to be fear mongering.
Before his name was thrown back into the ring on Day 6/7? Before the Mongoose lynch on Day 5?
INH had a habit of not posting anything of importance at all:
http://mafiathesyndicate.com/viewtopic. ... 093#p69093
http://mafiathesyndicate.com/viewtopic. ... 042#p69042
http://mafiathesyndicate.com/viewtopic. ... 025#p69025
http://mafiathesyndicate.com/viewtopic. ... 963#p68963
http://mafiathesyndicate.com/viewtopic. ... 936#p68936
http://mafiathesyndicate.com/viewtopic. ... 854#p68854
http://mafiathesyndicate.com/viewtopic. ... 851#p68851
http://mafiathesyndicate.com/viewtopic. ... 824#p68824
http://mafiathesyndicate.com/viewtopic. ... 823#p68823
http://mafiathesyndicate.com/viewtopic. ... 655#p68655
Those are all of his posts between his first burst of activity (where he created that spreadsheet) and the second burst (where he said he wasn't bad, and said he was being ganged up on for being talked about at all).
I hate to keep on falling back on the same defense, but I was hosting a game at the time that I posted all of that. You don't even mention that. Can you stop ignoring information? Please and thank you.
You'll notice the only thing of any, remote import is that he trusts Epig. And?
He also voted HIMSELF during the TH lynch.

And? I didn't think either case was very strong, so I decided to abstain. That's not unheard of in mafia.

Snow Dog has also not been speaking since his almost lynch, strangely enough.
Snow Dog probably thinks he's off the hook. And I've noticed here on this site that sometimes players don't post much if they don't have to defend themselves.
That's why it is good to make cases that people have to defend against, like I did with Dom, and like you refused to do with Epig.
Llama, what are your thoughts on my case on INH, I am curious.

I might be able to get behind an INH lynch. He was using his hosting as an excuse for non-participation, but that game has been over for a while and yet he has remained distinctly non est.

off his interactions with MP and FZ.
When have I even brought up the Vomps lynch? Direct me to that post, please.

Interesting. So he's had 8 full real-life days to get back into the swing of things, and is now on #9 and hasn't done so. I can understand being busy, but I would think in that period of time, he would be able to check in at least.
I did check in, I posted about the lynch.

No, I wasn't the most prolific poster, but I didn't drop off of the face of the fucking Earth. I also posted about the game, and you all seem to ignore that when it suits you.

I was all set on a K4J lynch, but his defense was strong enough to change my mind. Then I was all set for a Dom lynch, and once again, he came across as sincere and genuine, so that I no longer want to lynch him.

Now I am leaning either in INH's direction or in Kyle's direction, based on the case Rob made about him.

Snow Dog remains an enigma. I don't quite know what to make of him.

INH, you have offered zero thoughts since you were discussed. You have consistently gotten by on the fact that you don't say anything of importance.
In addition, your post on Epig caught my eye because NO ONE had jumped onto a case about Epig. It wasn't gaining much traction. That wasn't how you were treating it at all.

Furthermore, "I WAS HOTSING A GAMEMMEEEE THOOO"
Okay.
Fine.
Yes.
I know.
I talked about that.
Why haven't you been posting since about Day 7? Why do you refuse to participate when your name isn't being brought up? Why do you seem to be looking for the easy way out of everything in this game?

Why do you treat every point against you like an unfair attack? Why do you act like people are ganging up on you when they aren't? Why do you act as if the points against you are moot rather than addressing them?

I know llama agrees with your "why sign up if you're not going to play?" because he is quite vocal of that and so do I, but I have counterargued with him before that some people have busy RL (I understand after going through tax season), they still want to play, but maybe can't check in with the same kind of frequency as others, or maybe are particularly busy while D0/D1 is happening, so typically I think it makes more sense to vote for a no/low poster later on in the game (or like you said, unless there's honestly nothing else to go on). And let's be honest here, some people just have more talkative game styles than others.

So those are all things to consider.
Usually in big games like these, I sit back and watch for the first few cycles, and then presumably if I'm not eliminated, I start posting more and more. I like to get an idea of the dynamic of the game before I completely dive in.

That being said, I agree with FZ. To me it looked like MP was just making a suggestion to vote a NP if no clear candidate is revealed, which happens often on this site. The fact that K4J immediately jumped on that makes me a bit nervous.
This hasn't happened. INH is still around and it's Day 9, but he's posted less frequently.

Here, INH named two Mafia teammates in one sentence. This was regarding a staged debate between MP and FZ.

Continuing the conversation with MP:
insertnamehere wrote:
MovingPictures07 wrote: You think K4J is suspicious for that?
I have a weak Day 1 suspicion of her. Probably not worth voting, but I have my eye on her.
"Probably not worth voting." So what reason did INH give for voting FH (a Mafia member)?
insertnamehere wrote:Going with Flyin' High, because she and Spaghetti both have only one post in the game.
Huh.

However, INH did vote for k4j on Day 2:
kneel4justice
6
FZ. (4), Turnip Head (5), insertnamehere (6), Captain Bunny Killer (9), Lizzy (19), Elohcin (22) 21%
After that, it was missed, Mongoose, Mongoose, Vompatti, Boogs, then INH. The kneel4justice suspicion was never expounded upon or revisited (that I could tell).

++++

Now, as has been pointed out, INH claimed he had been busy hosting on June 16, but his game had ended June 14.

INH's game began June 5 (having been in sign ups since May 23). From the sign-up thread, INH said this:
insertnamehere wrote:I'm sorry that I have to play with your emotions like this, but contrary to what I believed earlier, I have some extra time tonight, so the game is definitively starting tonight.

PM's are sent out, if you have not received one, PM me.
That was on the evening of June 5th. On June the 2nd and 3rd, INH said this:
insertnamehere wrote:
insertnamehere wrote:Only three more, and we can start! Hopefully we can begin tomorrow or Wednesday.
Make that tomorrow or Thursday.
On June 4th, INH had 11 posts (15.7% of his 70 posts), including an enormous spreadsheet about MP and FZ mentioning teammates.

On June 8th, INH had time to goof off with a backwards post about Twin Peaks.

On June 12th, INH had time to provide the possibilities regarding Mongoose.

After INH's game:

On June 16th, INH and Boogs had a spat over how much time one has when hosting.

The last post made in INH's game was June 17th. On June 18th, INH posted a popcorn smiley and the lyrics to "What is Love? (Baby Don't Hurt Me).

Then on June 20th (three days after the last post in his game was made and six days after his game had ended) INH posts this:
insertnamehere wrote:I'm not sure about either of these people, so I'm going to vote for myself.

Wish I had more time, but I've been busy the last couple of days.

Very well.

In X-Men (a full game, 48 hour Days), you were on an evil team of 7, and you had a total of 23 posts in the span of eight game Days, and I don't think you were hosting a game at all during any of that time.

In Willow (a speed game, 24 hour Days), you were civilian, and you had 85 posts in the span of nine game Days.

INH is still around and it's Day 9, but he's posted less frequently.

lol

Here, INH named two Mafia teammates in one sentence. This was regarding a staged debate between MP and FZ.

FZ and MP's big show was a main topic of the thread. Me responding to it, and taking a side on it means next to nothing.

Continuing the conversation with MP:

That's because my initial suspicion of K4J was a weak one, and the more she posted, the more I trusted her. I'm sorry that I didn't announce "Hey, remember that weak, Day 1 suspicion, I disagree with that now!"

++++

Now, as has been pointed out, INH claimed he had been busy hosting on June 16, but his game had ended June 14.
That was a mistake. There. You got me. I don't think that it really matters much, but you got me.

And?

That was on the evening of June 5th. On June the 2nd and 3rd, INH said this:
insertnamehere wrote:
insertnamehere wrote:Only three more, and we can start! Hopefully we can begin tomorrow or Wednesday.
Make that tomorrow or Thursday.
And?

On June 4th, INH had 11 posts (15.7% of his 70 posts), including an enormous spreadsheet about MP and FZ mentioning teammates.

And?

On June 8th, INH had time to goof off with a backwards post about Twin Peaks.

That took me about five seconds.

On June 12th, INH had time to provide the possibilities regarding Mongoose.

And?

After INH's game:

On June 16th, INH and Boogs had a spat over how much time one has when hosting.

And?

The last post made in INH's game was June 17th. On June 18th, INH posted a popcorn smiley and the lyrics to "What is Love? (Baby Don't Hurt Me).

And? :wall:

Then on June 20th (three days after the last post in his game was made and six days after his game had ended) INH posts this:
insertnamehere wrote:I'm not sure about either of these people, so I'm going to vote for myself.

Wish I had more time, but I've been busy the last couple of days.
And?

And speak of the devil.

You have yet to present an original thought since day seven.

Wrong.

As Epig nicely pointed out, you said you would have more time.

Let's see 10 posts over the last 30 minutes, I'd say that I have posted enough to fill your imaginary quota of "enough activity".

You have spent plenty of time posting off-topic, hardly on-topic junk.

WELL I THINK IT'S FUNNY/ :solitary:

However, you don't seem to have the time to post something of any value.

I think that the NSA is greatly overstepping national boundaries, and Edward Snowden should be hailed as a national hero.
There? Is that valuable enough to you?

I've brought up my suspicion of inh before. I think he is
using the Vomps lynch to his advantage (Figuring we won't want to lynch another player for their off topic posting). I still think it's likely he is the last of the Moira Goblins based
off his interactions with MP and FZ.
When have I even brought up the Vomps lynch? Direct me to that post, please.
Where did I say you brought it up? Why would you post in the thread what your baddie tactic is? I'm allowed to make deductions based off your behavior and what I think about it.

Also, so much yellow and orange is hurting my eyes and I can't really see it ;(

And I'm not drawing any sort of conclusion in that post, INH. I'm just presenting facts for people to think about.
