It was meant for that. Maybe I still need to make progress in my social skills, but I would have said something a lot meaner in the past, so hey at least I didn't do that.

I mean threatening someone doesn’t usually deescalate a situation, telling someone “stop being rude or you’ll be killed” isn’t going to make most people respond with “you know what, you’re right, I’m so sorry!”

It’s more likely to make people double down and escalate things more

Humans are weird. I've always felt letting people know the stance you feel toward their behavior and telling them the consequences they would face if they continue is good.

This is the definition of a threat

a statement of an intention to inflict pain, injury, damage, or other hostile action on someone in retribution for something done or not done.

Threats aren’t necessarily bad, and what you’re describing wrt mods is probably a warning more than a threat (there’s probably no hostile intent), but yeah, telling a fellow player in a mafia game “if you keep doing X I’ll kill you” is definitely a threat lol

oh it's really okay lol. in retrospect it was kind of funny.

I didn't know a lot of other people preferred Prisoner of Azkaban. For me it was the first time in the series that it felt dangerous and that Harry was under real threat.
