Think about it like this.

Mafia night kills are hardly ever rand. Either they will kill people who are threatening their existence (SPK) or they will PR hunt. The mafia's biggest threats in this game are the other mafia team. While ever the other mafia team exists, their game can end in a flash. So they want to kill the other team more than they want to kill town (at the start). In actuality the town faction in multiball setups on this website have tended towards looking more like large allied 3p survivors as the game has progressed, and tend towards ending up mech unable to win at a reasonably early stage of the game, often becoming knowing or unknowing kingmakers.

Those who raise their hand and push hard on wolves in this setup, LOOK like wolves to the other wolf team, even if they are not. The simple fact of being able to see a wolf makes you >rand wolf in this setup because you are in the same mindset, so you can see reflections of yourself in your opponents. Good wolves know this. These players will be among the first to die. The mafia will tend towards reading players who are hard scumreading players outside their team as town, and will tend to not mess with those players.

As town, sheep the cases you like, keep a low profile, try as best as you can to live through a phase and see where it gets you. That's my rec.

But I would expect wolves to keep a relatively low profile too in order to avoid an NK. I definitely forgot it was multiball a lot of the time (like with my MR push reasoning that he's faking his Nutella read, I'm not sure how valid that is if it's multiball) and it's easy to revert back to autopilot. I actually thought the opposite, that town would be sticking out and hard pushing wolves while the wolves would be more in the background trying to avoid an NK since they're more keenly aware it's multiball.

like when town wins is it normaly just mafia dogging it out and town surviving or Towncore flanking both sides? what's the trick here? Ofc town always needs to baddie hunt or w/e but so do the wolves. What does town need to do that scum doesn't?

Yeah like that doesn't surprise me. It was probably an MU game and the mafia were probably mostly memesters that prefer playing mashes and turbos. This is the GoC.

It was actually on CFC, which is a generally pretty wolf friendly crowd. Pizza was just a wrecking ball.

It did help that one wolf team NKed the other team's deepest wolf though.

That is how it usually is, I am not saying it isn't. I am saying that is why town will lose.

Some of the mafia will play it that way. Those who are not usually powerwolfing/deepwolfing types. But the ones who when town are predisposed to scum hunting will just turn their scum hunting all the way up to 11.

Making onself less of a target (especially if you have a strong PR) and using your night abilities to their best and otherwise not making the mafia team think you have TMI on them is optimal way to do it.

This is my opinion of course, but I have a lot of experience winning multiball setups (as mafia) so I do know good strategy for them.

I wouldn't expect anyone to. Optimal town play in multi-ball setups is not something I think I've seen anyone discuss on Syndicate before and I kinda just made the strategy up right now based on my experiences as mafia and knowing how the mafia think and behave in multi-ball.

As far as faking reads being NAI, I disagree with that since town has no incentive to fake reads, but mafia still does because they have to fake reads on their partners and they might strategically tweak some of their reads to fit their agenda. I think if someone fakes a read that person is likely mafia, but faking reads is less common than in other mafia games.
