Well you are right about the cute l'il owl part. :lorab: I mean, it's a tiny owl wearing a knitted hat for god's sake! I die.

I am totally willing to wait for your clarity of words to return, but while MP made quite the case on Mongoose, you may have noticed I didn't vote for either and am not swayed to vote her for being wrong about him either.

Today the twins will be feeling especially philosophical, and of a mind to share. Sharing can be good, unless you do not choose wisely what to share and with whom to share it. We have seen two possible aspects of Mongooses' face, and both are fair.

CRYPTOZOOLOGY
Image

Cryptozoology is not strictly a form of occultism, but typically refers to the search for non-magical animals undiscovered by science. However, there is some overlap, when these animals are believed to exist on planes other than the physical one.

For example, the vampire myth is believed to have originated from the “old hag” phenomenon, where people from all cultures awake in the middle of the night feeling as though the life is being sucked out of them. When resulting in death, this is referred to as Sudden Unexplained Nocturnal Death Syndrome (SUNDS). There is no medical explanation at present.

Werewolves were never really thought to be the product of physical transformations, but a sort of etheric representation of an animal summoned and controlled by a witch or wizard via an out of body experience.

Fairies and other forms of sprite were etheric beings whose diminishing presence in the world is explained by the rise of industrialization and widespread use of metals. Iron, as well as silver, are believed to disrupt the connection between the etheric and physical planes.

Most experiences with angels and demons are also thought to come from interplanary contact, all of which falls vaguely within the realm of cryptozoology. The communication with both angels and demons is one of the chief aims of many forms of magic, as will be seen presently.

RIP Boogs!

I'm not sure what Chronozon awakening means, and if that's a good or bad thing. But I probably won't be awake much longer (waking up for work at 3:45 in the morning does not make for a very exciting, active day afterwards), so I'll try and contribute a bit more tomorrow.

Choronzon /ˌkoʊˌroʊnˈzoʊn/ is a demon or devil that originated in writing with the 16th-century occultists Edward Kelley and John Dee within the latter's occult system of Enochian magic. In the 20th century he became an important element within the mystical system of Thelema, founded by Aleister Crowley, where he is the Dweller in the Abyss,[1][2] believed to be the last great obstacle between the adept and enlightenment. Thelemites believe that if he is met with proper preparation, then his function is to destroy the ego, which allows the adept to move beyond the Abyss of occult cosmology.

Are we properly prepared?

I know, right? Choronzon was also a role in some of LC/BRs games, so seeing him here was odd lol.

Not a fan of lynching Mongoose, and not sure why anyone else is, tbh. I need to read back some and rethink some things.

So Chronozon is a demon summoned by baddie, but is a role from past mafia games? Would llama have played these games?

I feel like S~V~S is being genuine. I could be wrong of course, but isn't that almost always the case.

Could Mongoose be pretending to be cursed with her haiku talk so we will look at other players? If I were in her position (after the MP lynch) I would do the same thing. Thoughts?

I don't think she's pretending to be cursed. Anyway, it's not like posting in haikus is a curse that completely impedes communication. It's not the kind of curse that would completely dissuade me from looking at and possibly voting for her. I am confident in her capability to respond and contribute in haiku form. So Mongoose, do you have more to say in response to MP's case? Because you're the closest I have to a suspect right now.

I certainly did say that, then she became involved. And with only one baddie left, I felt what Mongoose was saying had some merit.

It was not an accusation. It was a question. I can think of times when baddies have faked insanification when they were under suspicion. No one seems to like to lynch an insanified player. So...it came to my mind that since she was under suspicion, maybe she was faking. But again, I am not accusing her of doing so. I am just throwing it out there as a possibility.

Normally I would point out that a haiku is more about the logical structure and sensory relation between the lines than it is about the amount of syllables, but I'm quite enjoying these ones so whatever k :hugs:

I read his case and thought it looked interesting and possibly damning for Mongoose, and said that my vote would either be going towards him (since I'd been suspicious of him for a few days) or Mongoose. Then I saw more of what people said later in the day and was swayed more in voting his direction. Alas.

I'm not going to rule out Mongoose, and may possibly vote her today because of MP's reasoning. But I'm also standing by my suspicion that our remaining baddie has been hiding in the shadows and not posting much, especially in the first couple of days, which means I may also be voting for one of the replacements or someone in the mid to low range of posting. I think you make an interesting point about faking a curse, because people do tend to ignore those who are cursed on lynch days. Not saying I necessarily think Mongoose is faking it, but it is something to think about.

There's only one mafia left. Who is nutella distancing from? As far as I know, distancing is something that baddies teammates do.

I'm still leaning towards Nutella for today's lynch. But I want to hold off on my vote, because I'm still not super confident, and I want to see what else comes up. And I promise that after missing the last 6 or 7 lynch polls I've been a part of on this site, that I will NOT miss this one too.

I do have a question for Elo though. Why do you think Nutella is distancing? I mean, there's only 1 baddie left, so I'm not sure how she could be distancing if she's bad.

I'm voting nutella. I don't know if I'll be on in the next couple hours, so I'm placing my vote now.

Niju, what do you think of Mongoose? You had said before the MP lynch that his case on her seemed sound and then you voted MP. What was your reasoning there?
There's only one mafia left. Who is nutella distancing from? As far as I know, distancing is something that baddies teammates do.
:derp: My bad.

I totally missed that we are down to one baddie. I am on vacation and trying to participate as much as possible in Mafia b/c I LOVE it! But I am not as involved as I would be if were at home. As there is only one baddie, I agree with Niju, we ought to look at those lying low. That is what I would do if I were the last baddie. Nutella pinged me in the very beginning of the game and has been a pretty low poster. I am voting her way. Now for some awesome homemade fettuccine chicken alfredo with steamed broccoli. Mmm!

Wait, all of a sudden I'm the top suspect? Where is this coming from? I know BWT and Mongoose had some gut feelings against me, but I haven't seen any actual cases. Metalmarsh, you didn't explain your vote at all.

Thanks, it does seem to me that you have been paying attention, and have your good ear open. Even if she was wrong about MP, I understand where she was coming from, and like I said, I don;t see baddie Mongoose putting herself so far out there.

Not sure I love lynching Nutella. She got my ear early on, but she ALWAYS does (I remember the game where she was Mother Theresa and I led the lynch on her; I was a baddie there, Idi Amin, actually, but I honestly did believe her to be a baddie on the other team, I have never trusted my gut on her since).

I read back in the poll thread, and see a few people I know I trust. I am not as sure re Hedgeowl as I was, her spirited defense worked for her, IMO. So not sure what I am going to do votewise.

I am curious, INH, about who you plan to vote for. Blooper as well, since I see she is in the house.

I need to vote, because I have to go to a super fun meeting at 6 (7 EST) and I don't know when I'll be back.

I don't feel Mongoose is bad, because she's too much in the spotlight, and I feel like the baddies are lying low, as I've stated many times before. I also don't feel the case on nutella.

What I am suspicious of is MM's vote for nutella with no explanation, and I've been suspicious of replacements since they well, replaced the inactive players. That is where my vote is going today.

Who thinks I should count Elohcin's obvious attempt to vote for Nutella using the wrong account?

I just searched MMs posts for "Nutella" and there were only 2 mentions, both today. After this post, the nutella vote surprised me.

The other post was the vote where he voted for her.

OK, could someone explain to me the case against Nutella, because all I've heard is people getting "bad vibes" from her. Bad vibes are OK for an early lynch, but it's Day 4. My vote will go to something with more proof than "bad vibes".

Why is MP on the poll?

These are my question marks (I feel pretty good about everyone else):

BWT
Dom
Eloh
Hedge
MM
Nutella
Vomps

Of those, leaning civ:

Eloh
Hedge

That leaves:

BWT: As blendy as the person he replaced
Dom: Comes back from being sick; Boogs dies. This would be a nice set up as well, though.
MM: Not loving the drive by
Nutella: No clue; but I really hate MMs vote
Vomps: Love the participation, but the game related content kinda blendy

I am leaning towards MM or BWT most
