Alright, let's get this started already. I want plenty more players by the time I get back from my visit to San Antonio.

Re: [SIGN-UPs] Fight Club Mafia
Super busy. Like all the busy ever. I worked for the past two weeks doing residential events at my uni - it was ridiculously exhausting but I met some great people and hopefully helped encourage some smart kids to go on to uni who might not have considered it before! I graduate on Tuesday and after that I'm free until September when my postgrad course starts so we're now in that very brief time of year where I actually have time to play mafia!Mongoose wrote:oh sweet. Where you been, dude?

Re: [SIGN-UPs] Fight Club Mafia
Taking summer classes but I guess I can give this a shot anyway! It will give me another reason to procrastinate doing my homework

Re: [SIGN-UPs] Fight Club Mafia
Alright, I'm back from San Antonio (for now)! Awesome, thanks for signing up, Bullz and Sorsha!
I'd love to get this game started ASAP this week; in fact, I pretty much need to due to scheduling reasons with my moving down and starting the PhD program and such. But if we can get more players before I start the game, that'd be incredibly preferable! So let's try to round up whoever we can in this very last stretch and as to exact starting date I'll play it by ear.
I hope everyone's getting appropriately psyched up.

Re: [SIGN-UPs] Fight Club Mafia
Kate and unfurl and SVS and bea are playing????? I have tried to resist because I am traveling this summer but kate and unfurl and SVS and bea all in one game are too tempting for me to turn down. I have one last trip to take just for a weekend coming up in two weeks and I think I can manage it and this game. One other small thing though - I saw this movie but it wasn't really my cup of tea (stop throwing rocks at me, and do not kill me because of it) and I don't remember it real clearly so i may need some help if plot points become part of the game. All I remember is they fight a lot.
So MP, I'm in if you are still talking people.

We have no great war, no great depression. Our great war is a spiritual war, our great depression...is our lives.
Perhaps my favorite quote from the movie that is packed with memorable ones.
Yes, the almighty sock has somehow coaxed me out of the light back to here, because after trying to be a movie god or rock star, I found out I won't be...and I'm very very pissed off

Agreed entirely on your selection and on the fact that the movie is packed with memorable quotes. Seriously, the dialogue is genius.JJLehto wrote:We have no great war, no great depression. Our great war is a spiritual war, our great depression...is our lives.

To this day I'm still impressed that Fight Club gets the most attention of all of Chuck Palahniuk's works. If you want to experience some twisted shit, read Lullaby or Invisible Monsters.

Re: [SIGN-UPs] Fight Club Mafia
Honestly, it's probably a combination of two things: Fight Club had a very successful film adaptation while the other two have not, and Lullaby and Invisible Monsters (I would think more so the latter) might be a bit too twisted for mass acclaim.Epignosis wrote:To this day I'm still impressed that Fight Club gets the most attention of all of Chuck Palahniuk's works. Re: [SIGN-UPs] Fight Club Mafia
Considering Choke featured Angelica Houston and (of all of Palahniuk's books) Snuff is in production (God help us), I don't think "twisted" is the problem.MovingPictures07 wrote:Honestly, it's probably a combination of two things: Fight Club had a very successful film adaptation while the other two have not, and Lullaby and Invisible Monsters (I would think more so the latter) might be a bit too twisted for mass acclaim.Epignosis wrote:To this day I'm still impressed that Fight Club gets the most attention of all of Chuck Palahniuk's works. Invisible Monsters might be hard to film due to its nature, but if you've seen the

Bruce Willis film called The Color of Night
****END SPOILER****
I think it could be done. Especially with all the CGI shit we have available now.
But to hell with all that- I would love to see Lullaby, my favorite Chuck P. novel get the silver screen treatment.

Re: [SIGN-UPs] Fight Club Mafia
So what I am currently thinking is to close off signups around Saturday and start the game then as well. I would now, but this game benefits from each player it gets and thus makes a better game for all of you, and I want to make sure that everyone who might want to play who hasn't signed up yet also gets the chance to. Plus, I have more time on the weekend.
That's the tentative plan, anyway.

No worries, I decided it'll be Saturday. Sorry for the wait to those anxious (trust me, I'm anxious to host this), but I don't have too much extra time between now and then anyway, in addition to the previously stated reasons.
Thus, I'm officially decreeing Saturday morning as the cutoff time for people to sign up. Whether we get 0 or 9001 more players between now and then, we'll be ready to go regardless.

However, with that said, the record for biggest game thus far at this site was my previous full game, Bioshock, at 36, so I'd kind of like to at least break that if possible.
