tl;dr

Tutuu's progression on cat is fishy. Her reasoning for her read was weak and when asked for evidence she couldn't really provide any. She drops the cat defense by townreading Falcon and then starts day 2 voting Falcon after Falcon's c/w flips mafia. She, much like our flipped mafia friend, spends time towards the EOD defending Thunal. The mafia then kill Thunal's biggest adversary in the thread.

I'm not convinced. I personally think tutuu would have harder stances on Cat (either way) presuming she were mafia/of-the-same alignment to make the most out of it.

If I recall she specifically likes power-wolfing (and in one particular game really wanted to protect her teammates) but as town she tends to really make a lot of reads (including wrong ones such as the one on !wolf LC in grasslands). It's only inevitable that at some point that will be on a mafia and I would look to some other standard for possible partner-y interactions such as using multiple flipped mafia as evidence or arguments how her playstyle so far benefits or attempts to benefit the mafia team.

Well, I mean, I feel like !wolf Tutuu really has a "teamwork" or "for the team" effort spirit to it. I doubt she would waste an opportunity she could have optimized if she knew the flip of a player that was possibly getting deleted.

I will also need more than "X could be scum because it's multiball and they can be scumhunting honestly" at all points in this game. Yes, that is a thing to be mindful of, but it is not a case in itself.

or at the very least I get the feeling I recognize their responses and thinking as if they were from the Grasslands game:

My issue isn't the read you're making. My issue is that you're like handing out reads left and right for stuff that (in my view) should be close to NAI, and I don't see evidence of the paranoia I'd expect to see from town there. There's a disparity between the substance of the read and the attitude you have towards it that I think can be plausibly explained by you having NAI on the subject of the read.

This isn't to say that townies can never be paranoid about their townreads early. But I think that kind of confidence comes either from a long history or extensive meta on the person, or because they saw something that they thought was really hard to fake. I don't think you believe that the observations you've made about me are at all hard to fake - which makes me question why the possibility I was faking didn't seem to factor into your analysis.

The possibility the person is faking always does come into my analysis, but it's not exactly good town strategy to hedge every single read I make by saying "This looks good, but they could be faking" or "I like these thoughts, but they could be faking them." It's kind of obvious that it's a possibility so I don't feel the need to actually state it.

The only problem I could see is this, but I would argue that since it comes into play with their thinking and analysis so often, its probably difficult to keep a consistent behavior of not stating the obvious. Especially since their recent post here, in this game:

I'm not saying this to defend myself and I'm not even sure if it's AI, I'm just thinking out loud:

I put a lot of thought into my posts as either alignment. I double check things and write things down and make sure my tone isn't wrong or forced. It feels restrictive but I do it anyway since I don't want to be in the PoE and I hate being yeeted. Turbos and video mafia feel more freeing since I can actually be myself without having to look at my posts under a microscope since I don't have the time to do that. Maybe I should stop overanalyzing my posts, I don't know, but I'm not sure if I'm willing to accept the downturn in results I think will come from that. I like being a good player and I want to be a better player, I take this game seriously especially in the long forum format. I just wish that the best strategy was to be myself but from experience I don't think it is. I'll try not to overthink quite as much, I guess, but I don't know what will come from that.

Suggests trying to be open with all of their thoughts and that IMO their tone was overall good here, though not to a clearing degree.

Not to mention, them "not stating the obvious" was actually the clear cause of them getting into a TvT for said Grasslands game. (<- Link to a huge post about it)

Not to mention this game COULD be multi-ball and hence they may feel more need to say it than before.

Now, with regards to what you've said:

I'm not sure if a "solving spark" is a good enough thing to look into. I mean its a big vague as it doesn't seem to specify if it is looking at, for example, motivation or just the happenstance of actually solving people. Or if its simply gut feeling.

I would disagree with motivation, I feel like they're motivated a fair bit even though they as of late have said they're demotivated.

Additionally, "not solving people" I think they may be more inclined to actually do that more often as mafia unless they're 3p. Reason being that by extension knowing you're a factional evil and all the other evils in your faction, regardless if there is multiball, means anyone who's not you or your buddies is more likely to be town than it is for any town who's unaware of everything.

Not to mention, this has 27 players in it. you could presumably throw out a strong town-read or two and get away with it without boxing oneself in.

If this "solving spark" refers to something else, please let me know.

I probably have a bunch more stuff I've said in my ISO about them, but this is what I have off the top of my head.

Made is town for every reason you just stated that he's scum! Because what you just described is town!me, and it feels like Made has a playstyle similar to mine!

Normally I might accept this sort of logic, as I do the same thing when reading certain other players too, but I guess the problem here is I don't really townread you to begin with.

Also, based on my previous experience of you and Made I'm not sure I agree you guys have a particularly similar playstyle. Not, like, vastly different I guess, but I can't say I made this connection on my own and have only started considering it since you think so.
