Let it be known that I hate redirection roles of all kind

On the contrary, redirection roles at 1000% necessary for role madness to work.

Cops, trackers, doctors, blockers, jailkeeps, etc are all super freaking powerful. On top of just having the ability to stop kills or make wolf yeets way more likely, townies tend to claim, use and react to mechanical stuff in a townie way. See: Wilgy and Dizzy today.

There's only two ways you can counter this as a host.

First, by giving the wolves a bunch of equally dangerous mechanical abilities. This can be fun in big games but in practice, leads to a lot of games that are imbalanced because the host improperly judges the sheer power of the roles on each side. Maybe your wolf conditional vigilante gets yeeted D1. Maybe they manage to get an extra kill off every night. Maybe your players don't appreciate that don cloak. Maybe wolves still just have no way to get a misyeet. This method is iffy.

Second, you can counter it by giving out redirection powers, especially town random redirectors on top of wolves targeted redirectors (controllers, commanders, controlled misdirectors, whatever you wanna call them) and busdrivers. The town is VERY likely to trip over itself with incorrect information, outting power roles and getting misyeets. Every cop check is a potential error. Every track could be wrong. Roles that default to unchoppable 100% accuracy wolf catchers become choppable and have a 75% accuracy instead. You get everything good about role madness while mitigating the bad.

Redirection roles are the key to good role madness.

this line of thinking isn't good though! Chopping Ted doesn't get us a wolf, and doesn't get us closer to a wolf.
Like think of Ted like Allison, right? 3p, has a win con, is trying to pursue that win con, and isn't getting in our way.

We gain at best minimal advantage today chopping Ted. Basically it's one less person posting and therefore one less person wolves can interact with/engage with that isn't town, and therefore makes it slightly harder to blend in.
I don't understand why you'd take the guaranteed 3p chop vs potential wolf chop at all.
Unless you're a wolf that is. which the more you post like this the more i think you may be.

If Ted is lying about being 3p here he's invested literally days of his life into the lie and in ways that don't make sense for a wolf to do, at all.
So either he's telling the truth about being 3p or he's running the worst wolf gambit I've ever seen. I choose to believe he's telling the truth, in which case I'd much rather chop someone wolfy, not 3p "wolfy"

I don't think so, no. All things being equal we have "wiggly unknown" vs "ted claimed 3p". eliminating ted here gives wolves slightly fewer places to hide/interact with non-town, and that's about it really.
Eliminating wiggly either chops a wolf or eliminates a place for wolves to hid. Eliminating Ted, I think, never chops a wolf. I'd rather take my chances with wiggly chop than chopping a not-wolf.

I'm still a role checker for some reason. Not sure why I'm stuck this way.

In a scenario where I'm lying about my power of changing others powers, why would I have posted the above question regarding me being stuck? I had no reason to post this if I had just "checked myself" and would've stated simply that I was redirected.

My power turned me back into a role checker and I claimed this before I knew about MR's power and target. In order for me to know both of these things, I would've needed a track on MR along with knowledge about how his role works.

Also, if I knew those things, there's no scenario where I would have stated to Michelle that I got a response upon targeting her.

Simply put, me being targeted by my own power, acknowledging it in such a way means that I wouldn't have had enough information to fabricate this lie.
