My main motivation when I was shouting about KZA earlier was to try to get people to talk about a different name. It gained no traction. That can just be because I didn't have a good argument about KZA. I didn't. But I had something, and I think KZA is the type of player we could begin a fruitful conversation at (light content but not no content. Taken some stances, but has been fairly lowkey). But the entirety of our focus seems to be on c4, chop, BoKnows, Jack, and now Rej. It has been difficult for anything else to gain traction.

Due to scheduling overlap with the Game of Champions, I am going to move our cycles ahead one hour. This night phase will conclude at 7:00 PM EDT instead, and you have until 6:00 PM EDT to send actions to me.
If this cycle schedule presents serious problems for you, please let me know privately. I will reevaluate later whether or not we'll return to the 6:00 schedule if/when the GOC ends during this game. Thanks gang.

Re: Fallout 2: A Post-Nuclear Mafia Game [Night 1]

He'd wanted nothing more than to do his part to help the Chosen One complete their quest to recover the holy Garden of Eden Creation Kit. Lenny had a chance once before, long ago, to stand beside the legendary Vault Dweller at Necropolis, but he was too slow to catch him as old a ghoul as he was even then. He would make amends for that failing, he'd resolved, and his skill as a doctor would be invaluable in the inhospitable wasteland.
But it wasn't to be. Lenny wouldn't be able to catch the Chosen either, just like their great-grandsire. In his efforts to find the Chosen he became lost in the vast wastes and eventually surrounded by ravenous raiders, thugs, and starving do-no-gooders who couldn't suffer his smell for another minute. After over a century of life, he met his end in the middle of nowhere, alone, his dreams unfulfilled, his hopes extinguished. To mourn him would be pointless. His demise parallels that of a thousand thousand other forgotten souls devoured by the hell that was the post-war Earth.
The Mordinos at New Reno kept their prized stallion locked away under heavy security in the basement of some rank stables miles outside the city. Myron, the boy wonder genius responsible for the creation of jet, wielded power over the northern California wastes beyond his own understanding. His malicious meta-amphetamine held thousands of wasters hostage within their own bodies and even entire cities destitute, populations ever reliant upon the Reno pipeline to keep their urges satisfied. Nearly all of Redding had fallen under the spell of jet, with the town's gold mine operations stunted constantly by shortages of its most important motivational tool. Vault City, ever vigilant in its refusal to admit narcotics into city limits, had even begun to feel the bite of Myron's reach. Their reliance on Redding gold meant that they too relied on Reno's jet, even if indirectly. The Mordinos might as well have ruled the world with that shit.
But no longer. Myron's dead. Shot right through his annoying little pipsqueak fucking eyes. Nobody's sure who did it, and you can bet your ass the Mordinos are gonna castrate a few dozen people until they find out. Myron was the only one that really knew how to make jet, unless he happened to impart that knowledge to one of his more mentally agile whores. Fuck I hope so. I need my fix.

Night 1 has ended.

Day 2 is underway. You have 48 hours to eliminate someone. The precise deadline is indicated at the top of the poll per your own time zone. I will add the precise EDT deadline to this post when I have the timestamp.
7:20 PM EDT Friday 5 March
He may have been Klamath's best trapper, but the guy just couldn't get his head out of his ass long enough to realize how good he had it there. He was always wandering out in some wasteland shithole that caught his interest, most recently a nuclear waste dump where he thought he might skin some goldens. Well it looks like it all finally caught up with him, because poor Arden's never going to see her husband again. I couldn't tell you for sure he's dead, but it's been so long since he came back around here that I ain't making any kind assumptions. Dumbass.
The city is on high alert. I haven't seen it this bad since the huge Khan raid about six years ago. Senior McClure was assassinated this morning. It's a damn blessed miracle whoever it was didn't get the First Citizen too. They've got the entire inner city on lockdown, and the wasters squatting outside the gates are being rounded up right this moment. I've already heard some isolated gun shots, sounds like they're executing people. Serves them right, the freeloader trash. Should have weeded them out long ago, and I'm sure one of those rats knows who did this. Torture them until they spill everything if you ask me. It's scary today, but we have strong leadership and an incredible community. We're going to get through this. Vault City prevails.

rej can be scum too. i'm just tired of having my read on urist be ignored, especially after he hardtunneled on a town and one of his other hardtunnels (me) was wrong too. i find it difficult to believe that a presumably strong player was 0/2 on d1 than i do to believe that he was just pushing in bad faith like i suspected

the fact that chopchop was tied with c4 and bo (both town) for like 24h indicates that he's probably not enclave

The damned poll is giving me hell, and I cannot get the deadline to work correctly. It is 7:20 PM EDT in two days (Friday 5 March). I will try to fix it without screwing up the votes when I can. If I cannot, I will simply screenshot the poll at the deadline per my own computer timestamp. The last "Fallout 3 dialogue" option is the host/non/dead option.

tunnel might be the wrong word, but "extremely overconfident scumread with no visible progression throughout the entirety of d1 while directly dodging my questions while simultaneously calling another flipped town 'outed mafia'" is more accurateUrist wrote: ↑Wed Mar 03, 2021 8:30 pmi'm not tunneling you wtfstaypositivefriend wrote: ↑Wed Mar 03, 2021 8:29 pmrej can be scum too. i'm just tired of having my read on urist be ignored, especially after he hardtunneled on a town and one of his other hardtunnels (me) was wrong too. i find it difficult to believe that a presumably strong player was 0/2 on d1 than i do to believe that he was just pushing in bad faith like i suspected

perhaps. i misread esooa on d1 too so i'm not claiming to be a paragon of accurate d1 readsNANOOKTHEGREATANDFEARSOME wrote: ↑Wed Mar 03, 2021 8:31 pmBeing 0/2 on D1 is actually pretty common for strong playersstaypositivefriend wrote: ↑Wed Mar 03, 2021 8:29 pmrej can be scum too. i'm just tired of having my read on urist be ignored, especially after he hardtunneled on a town and one of his other hardtunnels (me) was wrong too. i find it difficult to believe that a presumably strong player was 0/2 on d1 than i do to believe that he was just pushing in bad faith like i suspected

I don’t care or think about stuff like this on Day 1.
Also I was not as suspicious of you as I indicated. Like I said before the deadline, I was just harping on you because yesterday felt frustratingly stagnant and I wanted to broaden our horizons.

Yeah, we got a mafia and a villager between C4 and Esooa, and I'll remember it how I like.Urist wrote: ↑Wed Mar 03, 2021 8:34 pmc4 was definitely outed mafia, it's not my fault he flipped townstaypositivefriend wrote: ↑Wed Mar 03, 2021 8:33 pmtunnel might be the wrong word, but "extremely overconfident scumread with no visible progression throughout the entirety of d1 while directly dodging my questions while simultaneously calling another flipped town 'outed mafia'" is more accurateUrist wrote: ↑Wed Mar 03, 2021 8:30 pmi'm not tunneling you wtfstaypositivefriend wrote: ↑Wed Mar 03, 2021 8:29 pmrej can be scum too. i'm just tired of having my read on urist be ignored, especially after he hardtunneled on a town and one of his other hardtunnels (me) was wrong too. i find it difficult to believe that a presumably strong player was 0/2 on d1 than i do to believe that he was just pushing in bad faith like i suspected

Re: Fallout 2: A Post-Nuclear Mafia Game [Day 2]
@Sloonei -
i have a fairly major concern with you regarding your progression on c4 yesterday,. i'm definitely coming into this daystart feeling a little more combative than i want to be, so i want to word this diplomatically
but i felt that your read on c4 fluctuated with the consensus of the thread in a way that was dissonant from the more strong-headed, self-assured town!sloonei that i've usually seen
to be more specific, you had a strong and confident townread on c4 throughout the vast majority of d1 - even as the pressure mounted against c4, you confidently reiterated that he was town
it was only until the last ~12 hours or so of d1 that you suddenly dropped your townread on c4 altogether and said that he very well might be scum
your reasoning more or less boiled down to: "c4 was not making sense when i dialogued with him last night, so i'm suspicious about him now"
that reasoning very much rubbed me the wrong way, because my townread on c4 was never particularly based around him making sense. and i didn't feel that the stuff he was saying in your back of forth made any less sense than the stuff that he had been posting for the majority of the game. i very much struggle to see your confident townread on c4 suddenly evaporating in the way it did because c4 "didn't make sense", when he was outright not making sense from the moment that the game started
it gave me the impression that you capitulated your read on c4 to match the thread consensus - both as a deliberate attempt to avoid looking like you had TMI, and as an an excuse to avoid having to pull people off of his wagon
