If I wanted to stay being wrong fairly often I would play with a community that doesn't have as many respected players in it and that doesn't challenge me (in general) as much as this community usually does.

just walk me through once, step by step, the thought process that's going through your head, for posterity's sake.

1. according to you, falcon knows his own meta, and he either knows he's going down, or knows he looks good or something
2. he says something in btsc chat, along the lines of "abandon ship" or alternatively "i'm doing great"
3. i see this and say "ok i need to act on this"
4. so i get in a scuffle with falcon and come out of it saying i think he's town for some some nebulous benefit of some kind, even though i've historically never done that

do you think this is more likely than falcon coming at me again for some light bullshit jokey stuff to replicate his own behavior from magic the gathering and me getting annoyed at it, but recognizing that he did the same thing in a recent game and thinking it might be just part of who he is as a person? do i give 4 separate and escalating reads on my teammate on day 1? the day i take the least seriously? for what?

If Nanook's mafia here then most of the worlds I've been looking into in one form or another involved Esooa or Alison (and didn't involve either Nanook or Quin) just in case either of them were mafia since I couldn't easily sort them out and I don't think d1 really spewed them either way for it to be convincing to me. All that disappeared of course when Quin got shot, whom I thought was town or genuine.

as little steam as i'm spending defending myself, none of this actually matters in the short term, and probably not in the long term either.

like i can spend hours today and tomorrow and the next day and the next day reviewing everyone's actions and figuring out who i think is the most likely mafia outside of nanook or me, and there's a 50% chance that person will be dead by lylo anyways.

as much as i want to just be like "please use this time wisely and search for mafia outside of me and nanook to increase our chances of victory" like... bluh, i'm not doing that either lol.

would you rather look into 6 people all at once for the one wolf, or look into just 2 people one of which is guaranteed to be a wolf (or possibly just die and not have to make the decision)

well basically yes

if i'm alive at lylo the other town has "Kyle's been at the hospital or at work for most of the daytime periods and has accomplished basically nothing, and the other player has done stuff" the same is probably true for nanook.

if the lylo 3 are between 3 players that have done stuff then that's... you know. better. forces people to actually read and examine each other. and of course eliminates the people the mafia kills from contention
