Seems weird but if we're in a setup where it is pretty much optimal for the cop to claim immediately then I don't see why not (it would prevent a player who is less experienced or a lurker from playing suboptimally if they randed the role and causing town to perform worse as a result).
I'm happy to just believe that Mac is the cop and telling the truth about whatever unless he gets counterclaimed.
If I was a traitor i’d counterclaim though.
talk to me about this. @MissSparkles How do you feel about Mac's claim and him taking it back. And why would you counter claim as a traitor?
Marmot wrote: ↑Mon May 31, 2021 12:12 pm
We have a heavy reliance on the cop this game I think (thankfully there's a backup, on the off chance that there's a cc), which means that them claiming might not be in our best interest yet, because it'll give the Anti-Cop more info into who they should frame.
That said, claiming early would prevent cc wars from going down.

Like traitors probably are not gonna make obvious softs, so bringing about an idea like that feels slimy. It’s lije “I’m just gonna be shut down by town but hopefully my fellow traitors can deduce my true intentions of TRYING TO FIND MY FELLOW TRAITORS
I do agree with your point but i got a similar vibe from you/turtle guy convo before. Seemed like there was some sort of agenda from someone, can't pin point, but I wasn't really expecting the progression.

Ok, cool, I read the rules now. Four Lost Wolves, and it's ideal to send Traitors to Exile despite the poll removal factor. Regular chops by Day.
Yeeting based on interactions is impossible this game and I’d look closely at people doing it, it would be a try to look productive/good tactic here.
Not saying that’s what Wiml is doing here though
It's not impossible. Like for example right now i'm seemed suspicious because of my question. What we can analyze is how people react to it. Who thinks i'm wolf, and who thinks i'm town? What's their reaction? Stuff like that.
What's your overall thoughts? Like, not reads, just general thoughts about the gamestate.
I like that i'm the center of attention. Don't like the conclusion that i am a scum softing traitor, and what don't like that there was more discussion about cop and exiles than what traitors gameplan is going to be. The cop is irrelevant, and just exile town. Let's talk about traitors instead.
Disagree. I thought about talking traitors gameplan and ended up thinking I'll probably help traitors play properly and I'd rather not. I'll save that until later.
Do you think thread has been town or wolf-controlled?
Wisdom wrote: ↑Tue Jun 01, 2021 6:47 am
I know what I'm looking for, but I'm not gonna say "Good wolves plays like this" because that would probably help wolves more than town.
Are fools more likely to be town or wolves?
I think I said as much but I agree a lot with what Wisdom is saying here.
I also have a couple of things I want to add along the lines of "I think a traitor would do X" or etc but doing that now just either exhausts tells so that they become pretty much useless or gives the wolves ideas on what to do / what not to do.
This.
I'm gonna out wolves when they've done wolfy stuff to push and kill them.
I'm not gonna talk about how wolves are gonna play this game because they will adjust and be even harder to catch.
Cat is just way too concerned with Traitors Strategy for my liking tbh.

I do have a couple more thoughts on the strategy this game, but I'm going to withhold them until everyone has checked in.
I do have a question for everyone though. I've reconsidered my original stance on the cop claiming, and I've seen a couple players advocating for it. Should we encourage the town cop to claim or not? At this moment, I'm leaning toward yes.
you town! this is what I liked about you and disliked in the previous mech convo probably.
to answer your question, I am the cop and I won't talk about it until I am offered three buckets of ice cream. < 3
MissSparkles wrote: ↑Mon May 31, 2021 3:04 pm
Probably why i’m so often misyeeted on day one, the paranoia from players who’ve seen me as scum skews there judgement when I’m a pretty easy read on day one

are you a top poster as either alignment?
Yes, but i’m much less involved as scum on day one, I post and keep activity but not like I do as town. As town I drive interactions and pressure peeps a lot more then I tend too as scum.

Because YOLO. Best case scenario he was telling the truth and the cop dies, worse case, i get eliminated the next day and allow my teammates to settle in comfortably.

The real cop is out there somewhere thanking me for the cover though.
Because cover is so important in a no NK game.
it’s like going to see you’re doctor for a papercut, not very manly and just wastes everyone’s time.
i don't think claim matters at all, at least d1, unless the cop is getting elimed, does it?
I mean the cop should obvi stay in the shadows (like the real GENGAR; not humpty dumpty). And wait till he has info to give us to even say anything, why let the Traitor Cop know his identity so he can try and outguess their target?

I think in the beginning you had no problem with the cop claim tho

Marmot knew i was fake so he's the cop.
So you admit the only reason to fake claim cop is too try and gauge reactions to spot the real one. Cause i’m not thinking it accomplished anything else useful except your mild amusement.
Not everyone can just be amusing by using there vocabulary; and making there words sound fun:
But I guess that’s why, you’re the opening act at the local comedy club and I main event just for laughs 🎙

Because I thought it was a legit claim, cause I asked. So I was like whatever not the end of the world and adapted.

I am not sure what you are trying to say here exactly cause I don't think Mac tried to explain something against of what you are saying?

yes I am.
But I don't think either the CC or the cop would get yeeted that easily, unless it's the end of the world.
