I can see where you get that impression from, but there’s a pretty obvi flip side to this and maybe it’s just that I’m town who also wants to have a good game in my syndicate debut.
It would be easier in my first scum game on a new site too just lay low especially in a game with no NK.
Again feels fake and just trying to push the envelope, stopping the vocal towny by placing doubt.
You wanna call it a guess instead?
Re: Traitors for Exile
I have bad feeling coming from this exact post though, I would not really expect a town to write this at all as an entrance.
This looks odd for a first post, starting with an inclusive sentence (use of "we", to appear townier?), alongside two questions.
Posting questions usually comes as a great initiative and show how willing you are to solve the game, but here it feels like Cat is trying to distance themself from the traitors?
At the same time Cat might want to encourage the traitors doing so (contact each other) with this kind of post.
Overall I do no see a town ground in this post.

I've seen it but it's very rare for wolves to be toxic to one another. I don't think that would change if a wolf believes the other person is a wolf without knowing for sure. Also thunderdomes like that are usually v/v.falcon45ca wrote: ↑Tue Jun 01, 2021 12:01 pmWhat? Mac's shenanigans is very much something I could do as town and whether or not it's pro town is not relevant, the way he did it is town indicative and that's all that matters.
I did not join this game to see people get toxic and town eat itself up so let's just yeet some wolves and have some fun!
I see absolutely no reason why wolves would be afraid to get fiesty with their engagement of other players, and I don't see why they would care if it's a potential teammate

Out for today. Guess cat's dying? Got a bad gut feel about that but meh I don't have energy to do a proper research and case.
The cop should look for a townie to clear, so that we can exile that person every day forever. (Is that how it works?)

I see that you think Creature is more likely a hit?
I'm fine with a cat yeet at this point. I do believe their talk of softs was intended to be a soft, particularly since it was worded as "Should we look for soft?" as a question, rather than a proposition.
I don't find their followups/responses to that suspicion compelling otherwise. They didn't address it at all.

I also feel the weird vibes from the thread state (usually I'd be calling it dadv) but it's important to remember that the wolves don't know who each other are either. We are probably going to get very little opposition to pushing on LHF / fairly inactive players regardless of their rand.

Re: Traitors for Exile
And yeah I think the play is definitely for the cop to out a clear and then we exile that clear repeatedly.
I strongly advise against talking about who should be targeted by the cop for very obvious reasons.

Ugh got distracted
Re: Traitors for Exile
We prob shouldn't get distracted trying to guess traitor softs. They simply won't happen and we'll go at each other's neck over every small thing.
Re: Traitors for Exile
I think Cat is fairly wolfy but not because of that one post which could easily be a genuine attempt to help.

Re: Traitors for Exile
Pretty much dadv is what I meant, nobody really caring if cat dies today. Usually that would be indicative of the person being wagons being a villager since obviously the wolves would very putting in bo effort to save the slot either. In this game though, since the wolves don't know each other and better than we do then I don't think it indicates anything (or at least, nothing related to cat's alignment).falcon45ca wrote: ↑Tue Jun 01, 2021 6:25 pmI'm don't know what you mean about "weird vibes", elaborate plzWiml wrote: ↑Tue Jun 01, 2021 4:22 pm I also feel the weird vibes from the thread state (usually I'd be calling it dadv) but it's important to remember that the wolves don't know who each other are either. So the tl;dr is that the game thread gives off similar vibes to a situation in a normal game where we might he wrongly voting a villager... but I'm trying to remind people that this doesn't actually mean anything in this game because the wolves don't know each other anyway (so thread state reads in general are a lot weaker).

Re: Traitors for Exile
The reason I was focusing on exiles so early: if we work out a consistent winning strategy to avoid losing to exile (3-4 good options to consider already suggested) then I think we should almost completely lock this game with the cop and hopefully early clears.

Re: Traitors for Exile
I'm not sure I mentioned previously but cat having a very "who cares" approach to exiles pinged me for this reason. It should be really important for us.

Re: Traitors for Exile
Sure I am.
Re: Traitors for Exile
basically yeah
the strat is the cop sends their check for today then claims. if they get a clear, they out it and we bet the game on that person being town by exiling them every time (probability is 4/14 for checking a traitor * 1/15 for checking the anti-day cop's target (assuming the anti-day cop can self-target), which is a less than 2% chance). if we lose to that oh well
then after that we just follow the cop, the cop does not out their checks, they do not telegraph who they are checking in any way, no one tries to direct the cop in any way
from there we just yeet through people, the cop + 4 clears wins the game, although clears become less reliable on later days having a traitor slip in your group of 5 isn't the biggest problem as long as we kill some traitors on the way. if we get down to that group of 5 and the game isn't over yet, the cop and the perma-exile are full clears and we can vote everyone that isn't them.
like i've said, boring but almost guaranteed effective and I'm not going to pass up a breaking strat as town
