Yeah I understand the point of view you're coming from here (and I agree even after your claim that pretty much everything Gavial cased you on was NAI at worst honestly which I know is getting brushed under the carpet but I feel bad about it and even if the result wasn't actually bad gameplay-wise I should have shut it down sooner and it leaves a bad taste).

I think what it boils down to for me is: was Gavial aware of his impact on the thread / being anti-town and actively trying to play the twtbaw game or was he so tunneled into his own world that he was oblivious to other people's reactions before his posting hit critical mass and he was obliged to follow through? I think it's the latter option, I was grilling him pretty hard at points and I never detected any hesitancy or self awareness that I would think I would see from a wolf in that situation. Like, it's hard to explain in words but at the time there was no gut ping that made me think there was an agenda behind the push - even though you were one of my top towns and Gavial was mostly just a lean town at the time - that would usually make me suspect there was a fake tunnel there? Especially given I already hated the logic of his case and it was super anti-town and it was on a strong TR I wasn't seeing anything that wasn't airtight in terms of self-awareness that he was anti-town or whatever even though I started off really sceptical.

That devolved into a bit of a flood of words but the tl;dr of what I'm trying to say is that I tried really hard to look for TMI of being self aware of his behaviour and I couldn't find anything that resembled that after repeated probing so I think he's just town.

I also think the claim timing was very towny (particularly in the heat of the moment - it flowed very genuinely and I don't think he would have had time to check with wolfmates before claiming if it were fake) even if the claim itself is bad. I also think ydrasse would have just rescinded the claim upon subbing in if it was fake honestly.
