Juliets, the 11th Doctor was Matt Smith. The 12th is the current and it's Peter Capaldi.

I know, I wanted both of these games to start so badly, especially this one, but them starting the same night will prove interesting for my schedule sometimes. Lol. But I'm sure it won't matter.Hedgeowl wrote:Dana wrote:Bea that was the best pun I've heard all night you are the best person omgalso omg 2 games starting on the same night??

I kinda have a soft spot for 9 (that's eccleston right?) as the first doctor I saw, but miss tennant soooo much.

I have a soft spot for 9 too (Yes, Eccleston), I don't understand some of the apathy there.

Honestly, it will end after a time which bea and I determine is a reasonable amount of time for everyone to check in. So probably 3 or so days max.

Re: Dr. Who Mafia! - Day 0
Wow, so much Tennant love. He was good, but I was never a big fan of the romance angles, which were always prominent with 10. Plus I strongly dislike his 20 minutes of pre-regeneration moping.
And yes, Eccleston was great, but the show was still finding its footing during his season, so he could only do so much.

Re: Dr. Who Mafia! - Day 0
I know some people aren't Whovians so I'd just like to point out I think its pretty likely the Cybermen leader can recruit at some point. The Cybermen are human being carved up and put into their suits. Dalek Sec is a half human, half dalek - so might also have a recruit (or evolution of a human). More likely there is just one recruit and it's with the Cybermen I think.
Also likely the Master will resurrect, as he's a Time Lord like the Doctor and can regenerate after death.

Re: Dr. Who Mafia!
Yay, game begins!
The War Doctor is who 8 regenerated into after deciding he needed to stop the Time War for good. He's the Doctor who wasn't the Doctor. Except he totally was.
What if the other 3 roles are the Silence and they're totally there but every time we look away we forget? Also, why are my arms covered in tally marks?
I think Tennant was good but part of me thinks he's also overhyped. He had a lot of the best episodes but he gets a lot of credit just for being good looking as well. Matt Smith got me back into the show after I'd sort of lost interest and missed most of season 3/4 and the specials. He had some lame episodes but also some of the most badass scenes. Eleven is totally my Doctor.
Not quite right. From what I heard Ecclestone was invited to be a part of the 50th but decided it was best if he stayed away because he pretty much hates everything about the production. John Hurt (War Doctor) was always going to be that character, in 9's first episode he is implied to have only just regenerated. Also the things Matt Smith says about him in Name of The Doctor wouldn't make sense if he was talking about Ecclestone's character.Made wrote:Doctor from the 50th anniversary special, if I am correct, he isn't even suppose to exist. Capaldi's first episode was no Eleventh Hour but I thought it was decent. The second, not so much. The Robin Hood episode was fun and the latest one was quite interesting IMO, while Listen is up there with Blink as one of the best ever. I think he's going to do a great job.Dom wrote:You think so? Please, pretentious away. Really I think it's River Song who killed it though. Her plot was so convoluted and dumb that I barely even remember what happened in the season six finale or really what the overall point of it all was. I also think she kinda ruined Amy. Smith is still my favourite though tbh.Dom wrote:I really hated most of Smith's reign. I love Matt Smith, but I thought the writing was horrendous.bea wrote:I agree. Re: Dr. Who Mafia! - Day 0
Good observations. I often dislike worrying about dynamics that we do not yet know to exist (such as speculating there is a 'Seemer' role when there is not one listed in the roles), but on the flipside I think it is good to keep in mind that recruits are a possibility, and definitely could be likely. If just the Cybermen have a recruit though, surely the Daleks must have a pretty significant power to balance the teams? So if there are any recruits, I'd venture to say one per team is most likely.zeek wrote:I know some people aren't Whovians so I'd just like to point out I think its pretty likely the Cybermen leader can recruit at some point.
Given The Master appears to be an LMS, which makes complete sense, I would bet he has a pretty powerful role, so yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if he would resurrect after dying. I suppose The Doctor can as well though? Which means someone automatically regenerating after death could be either of those roles, potentially. So why wouldn't you mention that?
Consequently, while I do believe you have some logical and astute observations, in the end, I question the true intent behind your post. I've seen baddies (and I always try to do this myself as bad) who try to appear as helpful as possible but while simultaneously causing unnecessary paranoia, so just because I find myself agreeing with you, when I read your post part of me wondered if you are trying to set up misconceptions and paranoia.
Did anyone else get this stroke of paranoid thought or was it just me?
Never too early to start suspicion discussion, am I right?

Wow, nice theory. That's a definite possibility and would explain why they're not listed. Would that be a third mafia team then? If so, that's kind of scary, but might actually be kind of a good thing since the baddies will have a lot of competing factions to worry about, and won't focus on just ridding civvies. When I had three mafia teams in Classic Rock, there was more fighting among mafia teams than I expected, with the Satanists rising to an advantage among the ashes of the other two. So I wonder if that's what's going on here.Bullzeye wrote:Yay, game begins!

I'm curious what this poll means... but I would bet maybe voting certain options leads to certain events? Or maybe we become members of groups corresponding to the doctor numbers? But I don't know. I decided I wasn't going to overthink it and just answer the question straight up, but sometimes I can't help myself.
I know it could be unlikely we'll guess correctly, so it probably is sort of pointless to speculate, but there's really nothing wrong with discussing it, especially since it appears we can change votes.

I know you have a LOT to do, so I'm only curious.
What if the other 3 roles are the Silence and they're totally there but every time we look away we forget? Also, why are my arms covered in tally marks?
I just assumed it was like a check in activity really.MovingPictures07 wrote: Does anyone have any ideas as to what this poll might cause game-wise?
I know it could be unlikely we'll guess correctly, so it probably is sort of pointless to speculate, but there's really nothing wrong with discussing it, especially since it appears we can change votes.

Hmmm, that's a good point, maybe it has no risk/reward system at all but is merely a vehicle to drive the story. Sure, a possibility!sabie12 wrote:Maybe this poll will decide what season our story is based on or what season we begin with at least?
My instinct told me there must be some risk or reward corresponding to each option, and that whoever selects which option will receive the results predetermined with the option(s) selected... but that seems too convoluted.
Linki with Bullz: LOL, that's funny, I knew the last sentence of your post was a joke but I didn't realize before that was as well! And yeah, maybe it is just a check in activity. Given the complexity in poll options (both in magnitude and ability to select more than one), that's definitely likely.

Re: Dr. Who Mafia! - Day 0
Well in the last game I played Mongoose used some of these kinds of polls to drive the story so I figured maybe that was what they were doing here. I think it's an interesting idea.
Sometimes life does seem all planned out, like there's no choice in the matter. But that's just an illusion.
