Why does it make you nervous?

We’ve played before and I’ve made it known that I get antsy when people make too many town reads. As scum, it’s easy to hide behind town reading people. Keeps your options open and doesn’t incriminate you too much. It’s a safe play, and I don’t like it.

I also acknowledge that that is how some people hunt in the early game so as to work from the top down and get there via Process of elimination. But I don’t work that way

I townread Falcon, ilario, Jack, LC, and (for all intents and purposes) Dyson. Ender is a lesser townread but still someone I can work with and have no inclination to vote. I am ok to sheep ilario on TSP for a bit because I usually have trouble reading TSP.

That leaves Nanook, Seanzie, Scotty, Rondo, and Gavial. I have spoken about Seanzie. Nanook is exactly rand. I don't really want to put up with Gavial being uncommunicative for the rest of the game; I also think he is intentionally being less communicative than he could have been with the gimmick. Rondo seemed rand to me but Ender thinks he's scummy and the two of them know each other well so I'm inclined to give some weight to that. Scotty is my strongest scumread.

I'm tired and don't feel like writing a full explanation so here's the short version. I haven't felt the spark you have in your town games (eg. Guillo's Roles) where you feel like you're constantly striding forward. You've felt like you've been resting on your laurels and comfortable in the early townreads you accrued. Your pokes and pushes haven't gone anywhere and you don't seem particularly eager to pursue them; you've accused Seanzie of this, but you're also guilty of it yourself.

We’ve played 2 games together, so forgive me if I feel like that sample size isn’t big enough to judge my “normal” town behavior.

I just don’t have the time right now to press full cases, and especially not on D1, where there are no cases to be made

Slight playstyle difference here but I'm kinda the opposite with that. I feel like I townread a decent amount of people early as town. As scum I'll only out like 2 and those are just my pockets and leave the rest open to kill.

The only negatives to a mass amount of townreads is obviously the threat of misclearing a mafia member. But I feel like any good player will only have like 1 misclear in their townreads. But that's something you figure out later in the game.
