Wolves are more likely to be content with finding a small handful of reasons to bury someone, and just cling to those and call back to them whenever necessary, and it's also just a lot harder to do that to someone you know is town
And just unnecessary considering how quickly the Alison momentum built up

Let me take a quick look.

Anyone else notice that ISOs are a bit weird now? Quoted material within posts are collapsed into the post, and it makes it harder than it usually is to interpret. I think it's because posts are being truncated now, and they weren't in the past.

It's a bad reason to townread Jay but it's a reason

The prior link and this post evidence more of that. I am already a town read, but there's a great deal of scrutiny given to little details to continue justifying that the read doesn't change (unprompted). It feels like someone generally trusting my posts while also trying to avoid underestimating me.

Here is a similarly nuanced look at Hally to justify that town read.

I think there's similar evidence just a moment ago of c4 digging through Dizzy's posts for a specific purpose to develop that read, and he produced a nuanced view that accounts for both the global Alison progression and a localized moment in that progression. These are difficult things for mafia to build reads on or in some cases to think of at all.

For a single counter-argument: I wish c4 had more concrete suspicions.

Must say, I also found this weird. I never felt in danger of being hammered and I even resisted self voting for the meme because I figured it'd be a town more likely to hammer me, not a scum.

And then he doubled down on it which I guess is not really AI but still is a likely enough scum approach when called out on something.

Then the second line of the post is hard to follow. MR granted it's not "AI" for Wilgy to double-down on his hammer dialogue, but also that it's "still a likely enough scum approach when called out on something" -- this is a weird sentence that gives me the wrong impression. There are two qualifiers trying to drag this away from "Not AI" and toward "I can accuse Wilgy for this". The qualifiers are:

1) It's not really AI, but also
2) likely enough scum approach when called out on something

I don't know what "when called out on something" means or why MR is relying upon this seemingly generic qualifier to a read that starts at "Not AI". Put another way, this reads to me as follows:

It's not AI unless it happens in response to being called out -- as though "being called out" isn't the normal situation under which someone doubles down

Seems kinda fake.

Separate from that individual post, I don't like MR treating Wilgy's hammer read like it's a joke. "Can't believe the scum haven't taken the opportunity to hammer Wilgy" just strikes me as unnecessary and alignment-irrelevant -- the only purpose served by such a comment is to make Wilgy look like a doofus. That's halfway understandable if Wilgy is a suspect, but as we see by day's end... MR doesn't even include Wilgy as a chop option. It all seems out of order to me.

Btw Mac to clarify something, I didn't, like, immediately agree with you about Jay when the Day started. Some of your later posts seemed to think I did.

I just had commented on seeing a difference from Jay in how he was treating a slot, i.e. he was not his cool and collected self, and felt at the time it was AI one way or another for him. (Having read up perhaps it isn't. I daresay it feels more v/v than not.)

A key reason I was content with chopping Alison was because her case against me was so generic and quite frankly poor as it applies to my meta that I didn't believe she believed it.

So I'm going to try to avoid doing the same to Jay. At this juncture I'd still call him Town anyway, but it's a similar case of a player I hold to high expectations in my head making pretty basic reads with a level of confidence disproportionately high.
