I was so a Zelda addict when it first came out on the first NES console. In

I love that song.
I should mention that this game will include puzzles of various sorts: Musical puzzles, logic puzzles, geometric puzzles, linguistic puzzles and more.
There is also more than one way to win, regardless of your alignment: You could acquire all three Triforces and win no matter what.

What if you kill all the gold skulltullas? Is that considered a win?
Or if you collect all the masks?
Or if you write such a good song on the ocarina that the wandering scarecrow decides to become your producer and help you make it big in the entertainment biz?
Oh the possibilities...

Nothing in my game is required. You can even miss votes if you want without penalty.fingersplints wrote:Will the puzzles be required?Epignosis wrote:I love that song.

There is also more than one way to win, regardless of your alignment: You could acquire all three Triforces and win no matter what.this is already looking like it might be more complicated then I like, but I do love the theme so I will try.

To make things clearer:
Day phases operate like typical Day phases. Lynch someone. As you can see, however, there are roles and items that affect votes.
Night phases involve PMs getting sent as usual. However, there will also be a labyrinth (from the game) posted. Don't worry- you don't have to navigate it! You will merely choose a room (by voting coordinates) and, if you are civilian, the rupees you find will go to Ganon who gets to spend them to upgrade civilian roles. If you are Mafia, the rupees will be yours to purchase items. If you are Zola, your rupees...well...

In addition, each Night will have a puzzle of some kind. Solve them for more rupees. In this way, Night phases offer a blend of skill and luck for getting money.
Finally, there will be three events. The winner of each event earns a Triforce. If you get all three, you automatically win the game as an invincible independent. No matter what happens.
Long story short, this will be more complicated for me than it will be for you.

Now that there is more info this sounds even more exciting. Can't wait for this to begin. I've played a little here and I've watched people play so I have a super basic knowledge of Zelda games.
Sometimes life does seem all planned out, like there's no choice in the matter. But that's just an illusion.

Prepare to be hassled to fuck with questions, Epig, as I don't know anything about these games. Though I'm assured Zelda is a character.

I've played all except Zelda II (wasn't really interested in the side-scrolling weirdness), Four Swords (or anything holding that name), and any DS game due to my lack of funds to purchase said DS (I don't count the awful CD-i atrocities as actual games, and neither should anyone else. Yeah, I said it). My brothers used to play the shit outta A Link to the Past but I didn't get into it until much later when I fell in love with Ocarina of Time. Like, obsessively in love. Like, separation anxiety from letting Epi borrow my special disc with the game on it that I got for some promotion.
(It's okay, Bobby Brown - I still have the N64 version. I'll survive, and you need to play this game.)
Of all the geekdoms that ever graced the Earth to geek, Zelda is my absolute favorite. I will talk about that awesomeness all. Day. Long.

Both awesome and my personal two favorites. But I haven't played them all, only spectated a good amount of them, and played a few myself (didn't necessarily beat them either).Metalmarsh89 wrote:Just the two on the Nintendo 64 platform: Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask.MovingPictures07 wrote:Also, just to start game-related conversation and out of curiosity: Which Zelda games has everyone here played, if any?

And as is Bioshock. I can vouch for that. My favorite video game of all time... and I'm not much for shooters AND I'm squeamish. So if that isn't an amazing sell that one must play it, I don't know what is.

Totally awesome.nijuukyugou wrote:You don't even know what you've done.MovingPictures07 wrote:Also, just to start game-related conversation and out of curiosity: Which Zelda games has everyone here played, if any?

I grew up with the N64, so Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask were important entries into my childhood. My brother and I, when we were little, would watch my father play the former more so, during Christmas break. So much fun. As my brother grew older, he started to get into the games himself. I always thought they were super neat, but I was always more of a Mario and other games kind of guy, though I still have a soft spot for Zelda. But my brother has played all of the proper entries since Ocarina of Time (he's too young to appreciate the NES and SNES properly, sadly), many good memories watching him play and such. Wind Waker had its drawbacks, but still loved that one. Skyward Sword seemed amazing, I didn't get to spectate as much of that one as I'd have liked though, since by the time that one came out my life was way busier.
I just always had a hard time with the puzzle aspects, and always found my video game strongpoints to be elsewhere, but I have a deep respect for the Zelda series nonetheless.
While I'm too late for this to happen THIS evening... totally on it. Everyone else should be too.Epignosis wrote:If five more people sign up, I will send roles this evening.

I didn't grow up with a video game system (except atari), so I never got to enjoy them as a kid. However, I bought a nintendo along with the games later in life and have enjoyed them immensely. They are easily my favorite N64 games, and possible my favorite video games ever. It's too bad I lent my N64 to a friend last spring, and she disappeared of the face of the earth with it.MovingPictures07 wrote:Totally awesome.

Re: The Legend of Zelda (Ganon's Conquest) [SIGN UPS]
When keys and I had our mini Zeldathon, he started with one game (honestly don't remember what it's called because I only helped a little on the parts he couldn't see well) then I played Ocarina of Time, Wind Waker, and started Majora's Mask. I went on vacation or something so never got around to finishing but would like to pick it back up when I get a chance. I got a copy of a Zelda for wii game ( I think it's called twilight princess?) but haven't started yet)
I think I liked the Ocarina of Time the best. I liked Epona and of course playing the ocarina! Wind waker was cool too. I liked that little fish that helped fill in your map, but I think I had a harder time navigating controls for that one. (I played on pc with a controller and emulator)

Ocarina of Time is a classic for every reason. What a fantastic game.
Wind Waker was underrated, IMO.
And yeah, if it's for the Wii it's either Twilight Princess or Skyward Sword.

Re: The Legend of Zelda (Ganon's Conquest) [SIGN UPS]
I loved the storyline for Wind Waker, and just recently replayed it a few months back. The only issue I really had with it was the tediousness of finding those damned maps in the end, paying up the butt to Tingle, and then going back out to find the danged Triforce pieces. I remember Ganon was hard as hell to beat the first time I played it (it took me several tries) but super fun. Loved the combat mechanics in that game, and I'm glad they've continued to provide and improve on that in the later 3D games I've played.
I love how dark Twilight Princess is, and even though she's not particularly helpful with bad guys, Midna is definitely my favorite sidekick (I do love sass when it's not directed at me
) Skyward Sword was also an incredible game. There are parts of it that scare the bejeezus out of me because I'm a wimp (this is why I won't play the aforementioned Bioshock. I could barely watch Epi and son play it :P )
Might buy a 3DS with some bonus money this year, might not. But I really wanna play A Link Between Worlds, because...why wouldn't I? I hear it's excellent. Anyone played it?

Only five more people will get to be immersed in a world danger, intrigue, puzzles, nightmarish creatures, meddlesome humanoids, and quite possibly the burden of financial responsibility.
