It should've been capped at 5 players max. Maybe at 4, honestly. 6 was just...too many. It worked out, but it was not sound design.

The sub out mechanic probably should've been assigned n0 like the rest and the player it was assigned to made aware of it, getting force subbed without knowing its coming is kinda eh

I think one way the subout mechanic could improve would possibly be to make it a hydra rather than subout. Slightly harder to implement behind the scenes, but perhaps allows for the "choose the player in the middle of the game" part of it without full-on stealing that person's spot for a day.

Partly, yeah

It also allows for stuff like replacing a suspected player to see if they can town clear themselves (or shed correct sus if they're mafia), or replace a slot with a bad tunnel with someone that has fresh eyes, that kind of thing

Its also essentially a mason for the day it exists, which is potentially very strong for town (and not without its uses for mafia)

Gotcha. I just wasn't sure what the goal was with the mechanic was why I asked. It threw me for a loop though while I was tin foiling all over the place.
