Do you have a creative streak or enjoy writing, or writing stories with others? Do you have a slick tongue when it comes to word play? (I mean poetry of course...) This might just be the place for you, share your stories, have some fun!

It is printed on 100 signed and numbered vellum copies and distributed to a select few members of secret societies across Finland and Scandinavia.
I was considerirng a printed version at one point butt there would have been so many pages in each issue that I would have had to do an actual glue binding as opposed to using a stapler and i wouldn't have trusted my glue(ing skills) enough to sell it and no one would have bouhght it anyway.
also the right knid of recycled paper is rly expesnennive in finanllnd. :'(
I disagree with every single line of that poem. :P

For some background... I wrote it while I was in AP English so at the time we were talking a lot about the duality of human nature and the inherent evil in all men and themes such as that in literature. (Mary Shelley's Frankenstein) So that is where my poem stems from. Also, in a way I perceive it as how we all put on different faces when we are with different groups or in different settings. I talk differently here than I would with my co-workers or my clients for instance. Me at work is different than the me at home which is different than the me with my friends.
Sometimes life does seem all planned out, like there's no choice in the matter. But that's just an illusion.

Also, if anyone knows anyone who might write something, there's still room in this issue and I'm a slightly nervous horse about how long it'll take for it to be finnished.

I think there were hacks back in the day, and then there was Oscar Wilde; he was an artist. There are less artists today than there used to be, I agree. But there are still enough to give us hope.
It was a good piece. Really.

I agree with your conclusion, but would make a clarifying observation: Popular fiction has become what it has because even the people who are "into" reading have less patience than people before had. As our vehicles for storytelling become more reliant on other senses (like radio, television, video games), people will be less tolerant of more challenging and detailed passages. These technical developments have eroded people's ability to pay attention and become invested in something that delays gratification.
I'm not taking the tone of judgment when I write this either; I told Herman Melville to go fuck himself by page 150 of Moby Dick.

I tried reading Moby Dick in middle school and made it to the chapter that goes on and on describing whales when I decided to quit. It was the only time I failed the test thingy we had to take after reading a book.

You're thinking of every chapter.
But seriously, I love Moby Dick.

i'm bumping this beacuse i'm a slightly nervous horse about the limited amount of texts i've received for the next issue. please tell your freinds and neighbours about neveourhorrrse! you may also leave free-form hand-written ads on the bulletin board of your local grossery store if you so desire.
