If your view of the game is "town shouldn't play until NPCs are gone" then all NPCs are wolfsiding by existing now, since we could ring up Mac and hit the abscond button at any time. Mafia's next nightkill is chosen after the purge so it's incredibly unlikely they're going to whiff real players anymore.

"We should keep trying to hit NPCs today because most real players are town" is tantamount to "we should vote sleep on d1 in a normal game because most players are town." I assume we all have enough basic mafia theory to know why that's a bad idea, yeah? The start of this day was when the clock ticked back over to "town is the beatdown and needs to start playing and voting aggressively."

I agree with the second part tbh. But I dont agree that anyone not being active and just waiting until NPCs are gone to solve are not town cuz I could vibe with the annoyance feeling in eanting to solve when there are too many people that are just obstructing tbh. So wont be reading into that as AI, but still agree that we should hunt for wolfy player today

This is cromulent. In combination with other morning posts my read on Santy has upgraded from "taking claim at face value" to "just town."

Lilypetal is a slot I thought about overnight and would suggest as another alternative if people find Wilgy unpalatable... only worried about a higher risk of npc-ness.

Rondo disliked my first post in his catch up P#134 and later he forgot and in P#293 disliked another post calling it also opening, said another post is npc, and said everyone calling me a player is outing themselves as npc except nutella.
Asked me why i found Aro's post wolfy in P#952 and i remember we had a convo where he said i forced the interaction with him (implying a wolf read?)

I went through Neon's ISO to get a better grasp on the Ran wagon.

Neon is either just lost town or NPC, but likely town as they continue to hit vote minimum.

Wolf Neon plays to an objective, where lost Neon has no team and Is vibing until they can become invested.

And like further to not seeing the Neon Objective. There was like a buddy buddy to Katze, but then Neon votes the slot. That's not really building anything unless the team contains both Katze and Neon.

Also the vote didn't stick. I think W Neon is much more inclined to have a stable vote.

I don’t get the second part

Each faction has a Scout and a Deleter. The scout can target a player every night to find out if they are a real player. The deleter gets to remove one player from the game if they aren't a real player. They can target every night but as soon as they land one, they cannot use the role again.

oh i meant she was killed by the town deleter and it was like she was semi sussed by a few people and definitely not clear or leading or doing anything particularly to threaten wolves, so it's more likely that the town deleter would've targeted her as opposed to the mafia deleter, who should either be aiming at npcs who are threats or at player reads to confirm them

that aside, ender claimed the kill, repping that he's town deleter (could be some sort of fps but im kinda taking it at face value)

Thoughts on the Ran wagon: they feel to have good thread momentum. Normally I do associate that with town sided play.

My hangup is Ran calling my posts Wolfy. It feels disingenuous. I raised this earlier to no response as well. Almost as if the VCA wasn't good enough in their mind to push on me, they had to add something else and it feels like that addition is VERY empty.

It's the difference between "let's just clean up an afk slot" and "let's clean up an afk slot THAT'S VERY OBVIOUSLY WOLFY IN SPITE OF BEING AFK."

I don't think I'd feel like this had Ran engaged what content was there, but that just hasn't been done.

I've withheld a lot of my thoughts so far, but I genuinely dislike the sentiment that only wolves would be trying to hide in this kind of set up, especially before the culling of NPC's. I feel so strongly about this, that I'm extremely confident that anyone who is town would never push that agenda in good faith, and that someone like ran who has put this much effort and thought into the game should have known or at least suspected that's how many towns would play, regardless of whether they are even a player.
Ultimately, wolves would likely use their one player removing ability in such a way: Rank what individuals in the game they fear the most, for whatever reasons, and shoot. But early, they will likely just shoot at who they think are NPC's to avoid hitting a weaker player early and completely losing their ability to remove a huge threat later. It behooves the mafia scout to look into who they may sincerely believe will be a threat later, or someone who is faking a role claim, as someone already has, and see if it's truthful early in the game while there is little pressure. The mafia scout gets to share their findings with their teammates each and every night - the town scout does not have this luxury due to attempting to avoid being outed and removed from the game by the mafia. If the town is able to avoid being found by the mafia scout in the early stages of the game, this is very advantageous for them as it puts them on more even footing with the wolves. It is always in town's best interest to not out themselves early in this game.

Looking at low posters as the best people to vote is a waste of time when most of them will be culled so soon anyway. There is literally no point except to be performative in the hopes that you appear townie.

i don’t agree with the strategy that villagers should just coast until the NPCs die

then you give wolves chances to eliminate real players at night (and even to try to take over the thread during the day)

and by the time the NPCs are gone you can be down villagers that wolves have managed to kill at night without eliminating wolfy real players from the PoE because you’re twiddling your thumbs instead of trying to lunch wolves

i feel like if every villager got aggressive today and started solving with the help of the town siding NPCs we could have started to box wolves in pretty well

just not sure what the upside of doing nothing is realistically
