It's not clear to me what kind of backing you're looking for. Do you want quotes? Links? Academic citations? When I say "sprityo did this" or "sprityo did that" I assume you know what I'm talking about. If you have some specific point I made that you want me to back up, tell me which ones.

Here's the cliff's notes on my case on you.

a) MacDougall said you'd scumread him if you were town, but you refused to.
b) I think this is scummy.
c) Then, you redirected the conversation from you to JPIC.
d) I think this is you trying to goad Mac into attacking JPIC and either forgetting about the case on you, or townreading you for also scumreading JPIC.

Feel free to specify a letter and why you don't think that point is adequately supported by logic and I'll get back to you on it.

a) There's definitely been more than one occasion that I have scumread mac but it is not a given. I'm sure Mac would want me to because it's entertaining for him.

This feels crazy but I want to townread Samu off this. I don't know if it's English not being his native language causing him to use unorthodox turns of phrase, but I feel like the use of the word bait here strongly indicates that he felt it was some kind of provocation or (intentionally?) controversial idea by me to post that nutella is town. That makes no sense, especially since I wouldn't even know he was going to scumread nutella at the time I made that post.

But.

Do mafia often think that town is trying to provoke them by doing this? Like if he's mafia he knows what nutella is. He knows I'm town. If he sees me reading nutella town he's just going to think "oh, this is a townie townreading another townie" (or, if I am bad at the game, he might think "oh, this is a townie townreading my wolf buddy, great"). He's not gonna come anywhere close to viewing it as a provocation or trap or anything like that. It only makes sense if he's town and feels provoked by me townreading nutella because he genuinely thinks she's obvscum and anyone voting her must be trolling or doing something spicy.

I need to take a short break. I'm up to this post and just wanted to make a quick comment. I didn't have as strong a reaction about ted being mafia until I got to this post and another like it that tutuu posted. It doesn't make sense to me that ted would want to post scummy on Day 1 coming off other games where he randed scum. I don't understand that, @tedxtr maybe you could explain. This weird disparity between the content of the post (clearly implying ted is scum) vs the tone (asking if she misunderstood, the qualifying language used) is kind of offputting to me. On the other hand if there's someone who talks to their scumreads like this it's probably juliet because that's just in her personality

Alison, I do talk to everyone like this when I play mafia and am trying to probe a read (town or mafia). I've witnessed too many misunderstandings between people because someone feels like the other is not showing them respect. You are quite right it's just in my personality. It's NAI, I do it no matter which faction I am.

my catch-up was "low energy" in the sense that i needed to quickly catch up on the 13 pages that i missed before i go do yard work. my intent was to get a general impression of where the game was so that i could come back in a little while and engage with people instead of perpetually playing catch-up

I'm suspending judgement of you right now tbh, since my bad read on you is mostly tonal rather than content based and tone - especially this kind of tone - is more sensitive to stuff like life circumstances or who you're talking to. It's why I asked if there was anything that was making you feel low-energy, just in the case explanation was something simple like being tired or hungry or whatever.

I'm probably going to sort you with more confidence once I see you get into gear a bit more and interact with Hally more.

Disagree. Lots of people bleeding town in those pages. I read those pages and came to the conclusion that there were so many obvious townies in the game that I would be best served by focusing my efforts on confirming and organizing my townreads rather than trying to pin down wolves one by one.
