Jeffrey aims the gun at the two men.

Paul outright guffaws at this.

Dorothy stays seated in the car.

DOROTHY
Jeffrey, what are you doing?

JEFFREY
I'm ending the violence. Get out of the car.

DOROTHY
(shrieking)

At this point, the lights inside the Beaumont house go on.

JEFFREY
Dammit, no...

Raymond catches on, and begins to laugh with Paul.

AUNT BARBARA (O.S.)
Jeffrey? Are you out there? I heard what sounded like a gunshot!

JEFFREY
Everything's fine, Aunt Barbara. Go back to bed.

AUNT BARBARA (O.S.)
Where's your mother?

JEFFREY
(strained)
Go back to bed, Barbara!

Jeffrey tightens his grip on his pistol.

The door to the Beaumont home opens, and several things happen at once. Jeffrey looks to Aunt Barbara, who's wearing a shocked expression in the doorway. Paul takes advantage of this window, and rushes towards him. Once Paul tackles Jeffrey to the ground, Raymond runs to Aunt Barbara, who's standing shell-shocked. Dorothy just screams.

Jeffrey wrestles Paul away from him long enough to pick back up his gun. He aims it directly at Paul's forehead. Paul chuckles at this development.

RAYMOND
(to Jeffrey)
Hey, fucker.

Raymond has his blood-covered switchblade pressed against Aunt Barbara's wrinkled neck.

AUNT BARBARA
Jeffrey, what in God's name is happening here? Who are these men?

RAYMOND
Shut the hell up! You get what's going on, right? You kill him, I kill her.

JEFFREY
An exchange? Is that what you want?

PAUL
Raymond, kill the bitch! I'm not afraid to fuckin' die!

JEFFREY

Dorothy presses on the car horn, hard. Jeffrey and Raymond are momentarily distracted.

DOROTHY

Paul breaks free, and starts running down the road.

Raymond presses his knife into Aunt Barbara's neck, causing blood to pour out.

JEFFREY
No!

He turns, firing at Paul's retreating figure, until it collapses.

Quin has died. He was Aunt Barbara, a vanilla civilian.

S~V~S has died. She was Paul, a vanilla baddie.

Now it's dark.
