I will try not to do anything, but I find it odd how you are pushing so hard on Thunal for their idea. and linking up SVS together with them. While Thunal could at least make sense, SVS could have been a random town you got derailed. Why would partners try to be so close so easily?

I will try my best to think. x.x I just have no clue on how to approach this situation of having insider information, but also probing for more without revealing nothing.
If you are town, think hard. If you are scum, think harder hahahah
I suppose we can play this like normal mafia, while hiding our king. There might be an RVS anyway. As long as we have 6+ players, mislynches aren't so bad. Prepare to die valorously.
Okay, since we are doing this random voting thing, who do you wanna vote for today?
ToT I don't think we are voting on Day 0... we will start at Day 1, I am assuming. I actually don't think all the players even posted.

Interesting. Forum/Application on PC/phone? Competitive like Counter strike and similar or just casual without any real ranking?
It’s a website, proavalon.com. Some people take it pretty seriously and aren’t always nice so it’s probably best to start with spectating or unranked games before jumping in to ranked ones.
Yeah, it’s the super competitive ones that kill it for me. It’s like a poker player that takes a holier than thou attitude because their way is the best way.

My favorite games of Avalon- and honestly any hidden traitor game- is the introduction of new players and not having a strong precedent or meta on anyone. Because people do stuff that isn’t necessarily optimal or expected. Otherwise, I start *relying* on meta and it turns too gamebotty. Which isn’t a complete negative, it’s just nice to have a breather from that type of playing sometimes.

Usually, voting and lynching will give us spew. Here, it's recommended that everyone accepts their fate of being lynched, because wolves get a shot, and town gets to protect their king.

This ties into kind of what I’ve been touching on.

There’s perhaps an *optimal* way of playing that can solve the game with more success for town.
There’s also the option of playing with a bit of that strategy but still utilizing mafia elements so it doesn’t turn into a computerized inevitability.

It’s like, would you prefer to have an AI girl/boyfriend that never talks back/challenges/leaves you

I find Thunal's idea pretty good. Tho, I think we should be careful on how we make our "random" lynches, so they aren't so random. (I did try to backread previous AITP games, but that failed miserably as I got lazy.)

I also have ulterior motives in following their idea, because I came back from a long hiatus and I wanna do the bare minimum and chill.
Is it dangerous if we always have a tie vote between 2-3 players? Who that is shouldn’t matter, as the king will never be killed in a tie.

I realize that does allow for some weird switcheroos to possibly lop it onto the king, but I’m trying to avoid the following scenario:

We ‘randomly’ (whatever that means) pick the King as the yeet for the day. Everyone piles on, but we as guards can’t let that happen, thus it will expose the king. Right?

Some of these are custom emojis created over a decade ago in order to fill gaps in the visual language of emojis that we had back then. There were several types of emotional communication that the emojis we had on-hand did not cover. While many things have changed over the years, not the least of which is an exponentially greater number of emojis to choose from, I still consider some of these to be top-notch design work, exploring emotional subtleties that few emojis can match.

:feb: This is FEB, short for Fucking Evil Bastard. A custom request from LoRab, a longtime community member and good friend. I challenge you to find a more concise and communicative emoji for this purpose.

 This is Hopeful Grin, created because the usual 'smile' emojis are often so bland and lacking in personality, this emoji adds some subtlety and flavour to a smile

:meany: Most "sticking out tongue" emojis are playful and silly, like :p :goofp: . This one was created to fill the void for a more serious nonjokey tongue.

:scared: There are lots of 'frightened' emojis like , but Scaredy's slightly pale face and timid stance really convey the fear.

:srsnod: :nicenod: Find me an emoji that does a better job here. I'll wait.

:noble: Noble. I consider Noble to be the best of the custom emojis. From the inspiring light illuminating his face, to the stern and stoic expression in his eyes, Noble stands alone across the entire Internet in his inescapable and stalwart goodness.
I hate using this :meany: emoji because on my phone it looks like an expressionless doll face with eyelashes and creeps me out.

Or the face my dog makes when she spaces out looking at the bare wall

If everyone talks a lot and gives read lists it will be super easy for the assassins to deduce who the king is just by looking at who nobody wants to kill.

This sounds superfun. We should also each agree to only vote the player below us, all game. Each vote a tie, Russian Roulette No Info, and anyone who deviates is an Assassin.

As far as I know, he is. I don't know any other so I voted for him. But if we didn't have to vote kings but assassins, who would you present?
I have no reads yet, but I still have to read 3 pages

I thought at the strategy but the problem is the setup described in the link has one assasin. We have 2. That's enough to weaken the idea of not giving infos and win by chopping assassins.

Right?
We just don't pick the king as the elim for the day and I don't think that should be hard.

Miss, this is a game of deception. You are allowed to lie, buss, distance, ignore, power push. I don't think that giving minimal reads is a healthy environment for any game but if you do believe that's the best strategy, I can only respect that and if I don't like it, answer with a vote.
I’m not going to force you or anyone to play the same way I do.
I feel a bit bad now hahah but this is part of game, don't take any bad feelings. Btw, what was that avylon game you guys talked about? I never heard of it
No hard feelings, this isn’t the first time people have disagreed with the way I play and it’s not the first time people have scumread me for it. In response to one of your questions no, I’m not mafia.

And I’m actually trying to figure out the answers to some of your earlier questions because while my strategy is a good idea for 6 player AITP I kind of want to see how it translates to 13 player AITP and if it’s any different.
Just to check in, you don't feel uncomfortable with me engaging in this discussion more as I sure do have questions to ask?
I don’t think this discussion is too bad because it kind of continues what’s already there so idt we’re giving the assassins much new info. Giving lots of reads is what we have to be most careful of.

It looks like about a 70% chance town is able to kill both assassins before they reach parity if we eliminate by random (because I’m a nerd and felt like making a script for it). We can use the info we already have and any new info to increase that chance, but we’re already in a pretty good spot for eliminating both assassins. The assassins aren’t in such a good spot from the start, they have to get more info to be able to make good shots.

And Avalon does have a ranking system and sometimes tournaments but I’ve never played one.
0. I was asking if I was personally making you feel uncomfy hahah as you didn't seem engaging at the start. Glad that's not the case.
1. What makes you believe that eliminations will be random?
2. Can you show me the process behind the calculations?
3. Oh nice, I might check out the game.
No you're fine, I just had to think through if I wanted to engage.

1. I don't but it can be an okay baseline to get an idea of town's chances.

2. Open up Python and ask ChatGPT to write some code. My understanding is that it recursively computes probabilities until all the mafia are eliminated or mafia reach parity. Kind of similar to these calculations but not the same since this game has no night kills. https://wiki.mafiascum.net/index.php?ti ... EV_Project
