M Plus 7 wrote: ↑Sat May 26, 2018 5:36 pmKyle being killed is certainly interesting. I suck at NKA, and I typically don't like to employ it, but it seems the mafia team has switched strategies from "lol" to "kill the player least likely to be lynched".
I was the only player to suspect Kyle, let up on it even though I still had it on the back of my mind, so he was under no pressure.
I think this means the first kill was potentially meant to frame someone or get us looking in a specific direction. I'd be wary of people trying to steer that conversation. From what I recall, Jay did this.
That concerns me greatly.
What do you think about what I mentioned about Kyle not knowing who Gladys Campbell was. That (plus Kyle was basically not paying attention or doing much) is why in my mind this is a strange kill.
You're pulling paranoia out of your ass with your accusations, excuse my expression. I disagree that he's not looking at possibilities. And he's done ISOs and work when he's been around. I've been on a scum team with Jimmeey, and my impression is definitely that he doesn't bus needlessly. It's just not the smart thing to do. I also believe he would not make the kills that has been made.
I'll admit having been away from the game and now fully caught up I'm down from like 95% sure about Jay to like 55%.

well, at least that was a quick catch up. I agree this game is less serious than usual at the moment. There are a lot of votes being thrown around. I personally like votes that are not changeable only because it forces players to think more about who they are voting for. There are no "pressure votes" and what not. As of right now, I can see why JJJ has the most votes (even though it's only 2). His excuses for not carrying the thread don't feel genuine. He is participating enough in another game he is in. I may vote that way but first I would like to hear from others more. I don't like to just throw votes around. Who here is born again?
Dislike her reason for suspecting 3J here. Her phrasing around expecting him to carry the thread is what doesn't feel genuine. Does Eloh like to throw votes around? I can't remember. Someone find out for me.

Marmot inherited Mac, and I didn't care for Mac on Day 1. He received suspicion and did nothing more than laugh at it, and then Choutas said that "Mac is right in the role" thing which continues to show itself brightly when I review this game. Marmot himself is generally off-meta, has given considerable focus to his suspicion of you (which, despite his considerable effort, I still don't understand with clarity), and his Choutas vote was crappy at face value. On the other hand, I can respect the effort he has given, and it's easier to believe he is trying to solve the game than some others in the poll. That can only go so far, but it's something.
The best thing I can say for Elohcin is that she didn't capitalize on her opportunity to get me lynched on Day 1. At this point that isn't such a standout thing though, and I have no reason to believe she has a vested interest in solving the game. That may not be so abnormal for her, but I cannot give her a break when my POE pool has become relatively limited with her in it.
I have active suspicion of Marmot. For Elohcin, it's more an absence of good things.

Make this game move in my absence and give a strong effort. If you kill your most effortful contributor and then let the game snail along, you literally will owe me an apology. Spare yourself that awkward nonsense and let it roll. In my ever-conceited view, I have been almost the only thing standing in the way of this game devolving into the same kind of horrible pace that resulted in the cakewalk mafia wins of Great Gatsby and 2018 Syndicate Mafia, and that I controlled easily in Phenon Origins.
Don't take the ability out of my hands to influence my own chance to win and then
guarantee that I will lose by playing lazy Mafia.
Or else.
I'll be around throughout the day, but not really in real time. I'll have to pick my spots.
This, too, feels earnest. I believe that a scum Jay would take the effort he put into this post and instead put it into a spirited defense of himself, or an offense on someone else. Whatever it would be, not this.

I hate bussing my teammates and have never done it on Day 1 in my Mafia career. It “can” work, but on balance it’s a net negative. I don’t engage in foolery and tricks when there is no need. I lynch civilians and I win.
I cannot hunt without an opportunity to comb ISOs and discuss topics live. Ideally I’ll have my chance later, but if I do end up lynched I have a fucking demand.
If you’re a civilian and you lynched me, especially if your name is M Plus 7, you will follow these instructions:
1. You will not wallow in misery and frustration.
2. You will not lament your mistake.
3. You will not allow yourself to give anything away to the mafia team.
4. You will transform your bad feelings about murdering me into increased intensity and will to win.
5. You will hunt without mercy, and without regard for having been wrong about me.
6. You will lynch those who give you no inspiration.
7. You will not lynch those who do unless you have truly uncovered a sound and plausible case.
8. You will do this in my memory, for you will have ripped my control over ending my losing streak from my grasp and shouldered it yourself.
9. You will not let me down.

Anway it's interesting that when I said I had your number you assumed I meant as a civ hunting rather than just generally.
Also I was just having some fun waiting to replace out. Marmot is stepping in for me. Enjoy.
Context: The last time 3J correctly scum-read Mac. It was RoT3K.
Scum read. Since RoT3K I'm pretty sure Ass Class has been his only scum games. I'll acknowledge the pretty large gap between the two games but it still has "historical value". Or something.

He looks awful if you're town, that's part of the reason he sank to the bottom tier of my rainbow. I'd consider hot potatoing him if we could pull it off; I'm not sure that's necessary either though.
How is what I’ve said any different/worse than any other meta analysis I or other people have provided in the thread?
It just looks like TMI, like you know Jay is town.

MP, you’d be open to a hot potato of me even when you’ve expressed more serious interest in lynching other players...? And yet you accuse me of being up for anything?

Another angle to address while we're here and the wagons are split in two primary directions. Which one is more likely to be unlynchable? I understand it's difficult to tell, but I think it'd be prudent to try.
Fucking unlynchable role.
I'm not really sure. Elo doesn't seem to care, which could indicate that, but Marmot has been putting forth an insane effort, which in a different way could indicate that?
I don't know.

Sorry, Colin. No offense intended of course. Your tone and opinions just keep reading as insincere.

After reading Elo's ISO and quickly skimming Marmot's ISO, I think I'd rather lynch Elo than Marmot, but it's a tough call.

To be fair, it probably doesn't help that I don't have any meta on you, so maybe I'm just not used to you yet.

I have the opposite problem with Dizzy and Scotty. They usually read sincere to me.
That means one of them is probably bad.

I don't know.
One thing I notice is that Marmot's quietest day (this one) also happens to be the one in which he is faced with the most pressure. I'm not sure what he's doing in the real world right now, but if that bears relevance to game activity then it might indicate a reduced degree of concern over his place in the poll.

I thought about this after you said it and I’m not sure how I would be able to tell on my own. Meta analysis is one thing, but adding in that extra dimension ... I’d expect them to maybe be a little more careless in their play, a little less inclined to big contributions, but that’s just a thought I haven’t tested.

Cool. What do you think of rabbits?
Also, the game
Theyre cute but they make terrible meat so a no for me.
The game has started in a mild manner we need to stir things up. Force people to read others.
As for Day one Mac i think hes right into the role.
Are you looking to stir things up? Because “he’s right into the role” ain’t stirring shit
Whatever right into the role means
This was probably my favorite single moment for a player in terms of Choutas interactions, and I have been giving Scotty civilian credit ever since. Does anyone protest?

Correct. Never take out your heavy hitters without good reason. Turn everybody else into a heavy hitter instead.
And yet you voted for Macdougall?
If JaggedJimmyJay is batting third, then Macdougall is your cleanup man. Why vote for him?

[VOTE:
M Plus 7] aubergine
After browsing through his ISO, he's exhibiting behavior that I exhibit when I'm mafia. Nearly all of his posts are short. Many of them are uninspiring questions, including the following.
Good point about Epi.

well, at least that was a quick catch up.
What specifically is not genuine?

I'm not talking about G-Man's Easter Mafia.
I am talking about Mafia.
All of it.
I see. Well, if I'm honest, I feel the same way.
Why?
I see that Elohcin gave a long explanation, in response to the last question, but I see a lot of soft pressing without any follow-through. No hardcore scumhunting, just going through the motions.
This guy is mafia.
I agree with his thoughts about MP. Especially the last one.

inactive
that's basically all I have to clarify for my vote, nothing exaggerating I kno! !

hello, welcome
what makes you think Birdwithteeth11 is bad?
they have not posted yet
Lapluie was a civilian in that game, while Simon was mafia. Meanwhile in this game, lapluie silently placed a vote on TheFloyd who hasn't posted yet. This put Floyd at 2 votes, and in second overall. The reason for voting TheFloyd? He's been inactive thus far.
Lapluie is an orange salad roll.
Backing up his claims with previous games. And again, I don't disagree.

Scotty has made multiple posts this game that I find civilian-aligned.
And also he's known for voting inactives on Day 1, whereas I found a case of you questioning someone else in another game for it.
This is basically the response to the thing lapluie pulled out and I find it extremely genuine.

Marmot is my strongest town read.
Dark green.
