Which people? I recall sloonei and spirityo saying they were wary of a mislynch. Do you think his teammates would be obvious in defending him? I'm not a fan of colin this game either so far. Do you suspect them for any other reason or just that?

Not just because it was on me, but because it was late in the day on a complete off wagon, not with any convincing or anything, so it's not like he tried to make a lynch happen. Apart from that he's also played with me before, so he should be able to have an actual opinion on me. But the main thing is that it was off wagon and a throw away vote. Sloonei did that as scum (lone vote on me D1) when he was scum the last time I was town. Just saying.
Love this point, that stuff is almost always shady.
This is opposite to the perspective evil Colin expressed on this off-wagon voting theory in Ancient Greece Mafia. :ponder:

I mentioned bad vibes from sloonei and sprityo before they defended Colin, so this adds to my read of them. Idk if they'd be so bold as to defend a teammate but I'm willing to put pressure there

I’ve got nothing specific. I feel very sure on Juliets but in the presence of lots of town reads I’ll succumb to the majority. Sabie is playing similarly to how she did in Fallout as far as I can tell, it’s a little floaty. Not a lot of fighting to grasp onto, big paragraphs and inherently defensive.
Turnip was a shrug read. Went to put it in Ehh, changed my mind.

Hey guys, by the way, please pick another color than that bright green, blue, or yellow to highlight words, or use a different method (underlining, font enlarge, etc.). I have to use the light back ground and I can't read those colors at all. I can continue bringing up the quote so I can see it in black and white but if you have a choice and could use something else I would appreciate it!

I wish he was here more but I'm also not alarmed by his posts even though they are few. He tried to protect me in one post and in his last post he had a similar opinion to me of Radishes, so I guess of course I wouldn't be alarmed.

It's more that I'm not alarmed yet, I like what he's posted, but if he continues to not be here and give more I'm going to have to reconsider. I don't think I would vote for him today though.

I like sprityo for reasons I struggle to articulate. He is striking a balance between here are a few reads, take them or leave them and let me explain to you in great vivid detail who I think is mafia and why. He's giving reads and explaining them in some capacity, enough that one can mostly follow his thinking, but without it looking like he is working for appearances.

My comb will be less fine a tooth here because it’s a lot more posts than TH or Michelle, and I have less time.

Jay seems fine at first, actually. Some banter, some early half-serious-half-not reads. One I quite like is this one. Everything else is fairly straightforward, and nothing that a scum can’t also say. Shades me a bit early, so that’s something.

This continues. A lot of little reads like this and this and this to pick three I happen to be staring at on my screen as I start typing this. Again, very much posts a scum can make to blend in. Maybe I just expect too much of my old Champs foe, but very bland stuff at this point. I just…I don’t see anything he’s doing to actually advance the game state. A lot of ‘tell me about…’ and questions and such.

After spending some time on jack & nutella’s little ditty, his vote on me comes a bit out of nowhere. He shaded me earlier, so there’s that, but he arrives back in the thread to hop on my wagon after it’s already grown in a little spurt. Very opportunistic moment, basically. Only explains it later, and for reasoning I find poor. Like, making a deal out of the ‘4th vote = scum’ thing? Come on. It reads like he scanned the thread for a few things to say that others already have about me.

He is consistent in TRing Juliets, expresses displeasure with speedchuk and G-man, gives a couple brief reads on others like Dom and Tony…nothing worth noting. He does give a decent case against speedchuk. I mean, I could quibble that some of it looks a bit padded, e.g. saying a joke post gave a bad vibe. But some of it looks halfway decent. There’s also, later, a similar ISO on Michelle that seems okay too.

But then back to more one-line soft reads. The most egregious one I find to be this, which is just…weak. It’s meant to be jokey, but in the context of Jay’s larger play this game strikes me wrongly. Then, despite all his one-off reads here and there, he lands back on me as a vote.

I saw in a quoted post Dizzy say Jay’s not ‘packing a punch’ and is staying in the background, and yeah, that’s exactly it. I’d add on his vote on me was one of the more wagony ones and his latest vote feels like one made to push my easy wagon again. He’s not working to solve anyone else first.

Scum lean.

I understand when you haven't played with me much (and we haven't) why you might think that. It's just the way I am and it usually transcends alignment.

Only explains it later, and for reasoning I find poor. Like, making a deal out of the ‘4th vote = scum’ thing? Come on. It reads like he scanned the thread for a few things to say that others already have about me.
At least twice now you've referenced my suspicion of you only in terms of the least important point (the "4th voter") thing. In so doing, you have left the substantive digs hanging -- your handling of me and your handling of Sloonei. I am reminded of the dummy scroll moment from Romance of the Three Kingdoms that helped me to catch BadMac.

It’s meant to be jokey, but in the context of Jay’s larger play this game strikes me wrongly. Then, despite all his one-off reads here and there, he lands back on me as a vote.
"The most egregious one-line soft read" you've referenced here is not a read at all. I asked Jack a question. What?[/quote]

Go to that link in one of my posts to his posts in Firefly where he was bad. He is radically different to me here than there.

Definite scum lean.
In recent memory Turnip Head has rarely been one to play the game loudly -- quiet but attentive is an apt description of him. I'd say he is on-meta. How does this impact your read?
Quiet is one thing. Is it on meta to give no reasoning behind his thoughts?
Yes. Absolutely. Same question

TH, what are you seeing when you look at Colin? (I couldn't find this in your ISO but tell me if its there and I just didn't go back far enough.)
His reads don't feel genuine, specifically when he called out michelle. I think he's leaning a little too hard on the "I often get mislynched" card

Ok thanks I'll take another look from that perspective. I'm just so wary after Inception.

Sloonei wrote: Sat Feb 29, 2020 1:47 pm I do not think Colin is a very good lynch today.
Why though? I like all the people voting him right now.
Kneejerk reaction. I've been on the wrong end of too many Colin mislynches when he's played similar to how he is here in the past. I have not looked closely at him yet in this game, but my impulse is to resist the urge to lynch Colin for being low key.

also tangentially related, i thought there were more votes on him right now because nanook's name is so long.
It’s not for being low key, it’s for being disinterested in a game where scum don’t really need to drive much early. Like his game has followed the preferred scum pattern so far.
Where is this “disinterest” idea coming from? I missed the first day because of real life and spent my time catching up on the entire thread and posting since. I’m not spamming the thread because it’s not helpful nor how I play.

NANOOKTHEGREATANDFEARSOME wrote: Sat Feb 29, 2020 2:16 pm To elucidate the difference, I recall Colin being like a dog with a bone in the game I saw him as town (I think the wire, not 100% sure), whereas this game he’s a bit more drifty. I don’t recall him being much more active than in this game. That seems like enough of a difference to me to run with 🤷‍♀️
I think you’re mixing me up with someone else. I barely had a chance to play The Wire — I believe I got mislynched.
