I think "you clearly have never" implies there is some point in the past where you hadn't played the game which does sort of go along with your poetic distortion because the only reason you could need to distinguish that from "you have clearly never" is if it was possible for you to have not played the game yet at some point in the past when it could have been played, then played it later
in that case I think it should be "you clearly had never", and that isn't what you were trying to say anyways, but yes, with a little artistic freedom, this checks out to me
in other words "you had never played x at time y" is only a sensible statement if x is playable at different times
the "never" is another clue that this is what you mean
