What was I supposed to think about the vote triangle? I think it was unusual, and I made that pretty clear. I actually don't recall seeing that before. With no previous experience of it I have no earthly idea what to make of it. I think what makes it unusual is that it's kind of typical for people to think the person voting them might be a wolf, and that someone voting for that person could be right in doing so...or at the least take kind of an unconscious "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" path. So generally when you have someone voting you and then someone votes for them the reaction is to pile on, not make a triangle. But as I said I am not claiming to "know what it means," I'm just doing my usual drift through day one and noted an oddity.

Of course, my usual drift through day one has all the usual complainers complaining. The people who throw random "reads" based on whatever feelie they get from some obscure bit of wording want me to do the same, and since I don't they cry wolf. The people who want to ascribe some deep meaning to "they opened with a copy pasta" when the player most likely always opens with a copy pasta are upset that I am not having a deeply meaningful conversation about the copy pasta, and they cry wolf. Syn is no doubt gonna death tunnel me again because he is always crying wolf when I come around. It's just another day one in the life.

So here's the deal. I'm town. As I just showed in Nanook's game, if you give me some flips to work with I will happily solve the game and die. I know no one is gonna let me end game. No one should ever let me end game. But at this point I think you should start looking at why so many people are willing to say "oh, one of them misspelled first in their matching one word entry posts...that's a wolf tell for sure" or whatever dumb nonsense is being pitched here. Because somewhere in there are the usual opportunists thinking that this time...finally this time...they are gonna be the wolves that get a day one chop on me.
newsflash my friend

that's like the only productive thing you've done all game, so of course if your only observation is a complete nothingburger, you're not going to get a good response. your only other contributions have been some read on the falconknows slot with... not even sure if that was serious because you were answering for someone else and the answer wasn't even definitive, and you engaging in with mist regarding a discussion of godreads. i won't disagree that godreads can be unreliable because i've seen many a godread be wrong before! but it seems like you were specifically taking the line to try and discredit mist when all she was doing was talking about how people can't reliably read her and the process required to be able to reliably read her.

mist clearly was not fishing for a "godread". who do you actually think would have a godread on mist in this game? hyena or something? no, what was actually happening was mist being annoyed about bottom text thinking they could read her when their read wasn't good.
So, you are wolf reading me because I engaged in a conversation? Is that the gist here?
this is such a misrep lol

Okay, enough.

A votes B, B votes C, C votes A...a vote triangle.

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN???????????????????????

There seems to be no shortage of people who want to make something out of me not having a fucking clue what it means...so show me how it is some great revelatory mechanism. Go ahead.

I look at voting so I saw something, and I mentioned it. Maybe someone else sees me point it out and has some meaning to offer. Maybe someone says "huh, interesting, never seen that either." And maybe a bunch of people saying that I am a wolf for not having a clue what it means should put up or shut up, because I think they have no idea what it means either.

The whole thing just feels like she's putting worldbuilding in front of plain reads in an agenda'y way. Like, she's not diving headfirst all the way into either read, but she's playing with that plan in mind anyway.
Put another way, by making all her reads preflips based on me being a wolf she is really not going on the record at all. If I don't flip, which I probably won't, she's not committed to anything. If I do flip she can say "huh, was wrong" and just starts over because it flushes all her "reads."

TonyStarkPlaysItCool wrote: ↑Tue May 04, 2021 3:46 am On second thoughts, not providing a thought on the vote triangle is mildly wolfy i guess

Yes, it's a good thought to have but on the grand scheme of things but it's kind of a meaningless observation if you don't know, or don't at least have a thought of what it means
fwiw i think this post is a decent look for tspic. at this point it's obvious i had a similar thought process to tim's triangulation read on us/poop explosions/bottom text and how he didn't do anything with the read

/meta in cov, tim made a read on esooa early on regarding the townreads she was getting early on in the game based on her read on tim. he later made a post that, even though it gave him bad vibes, he couldn't find an agenda in it at all. this might be the same type of thing. throwing light shade onto something while not committing to the point where you're stepping on toes.
My meta read on Tim is if he hasn't gone out of his way to piss off the entire towncore then lock him in as scum.
I haven't identified the towncore yet so I'm pretty much stuck with pissing off everyone.

I look at voting so I saw something, and I mentioned it. Maybe someone else sees me point it out and has some meaning to offer. Maybe someone says "huh, interesting, never seen that either." And maybe a bunch of people saying that I am a wolf for not having a clue what it means should put up or shut up, because I think they have no idea what it means either.
look. point out an observation, fine. that's perfectly okay! maybe one of us will get something out of it! i personally do not think it's very useful because it's hard to make a correlation between any of the votes, and there usually aren't going to be in those types of scenarios. the fact of the matter is that was still the only relevant read you had given the entire game up until that point, disregarding anything regarding mist's godread which was only shade at best, and nothing came of that.

listen to what i just mentioned though. correlation between any of the votes. this is what you should be looking for if you make the observation! why did i vote poop explosions? why did bottom text vote me? why did poop explosions vote bottom text? and are these related in a way that's meaningful? this is the point. if you're going to make an observation, investigate it to its fullest. just making the observation and leaving it at that like your work was done isn't actually that helpful.

I think trans rights is fine for now. Not interested in pushing there today and I don't really care about vanity preflipping because that doesn't sound out of their townrange at all.

I think it's a crap look that I told TAT to pick out the wolves on their wagon only to have them throw blanket mud at everyone on it.

I have played with Gavial and in the game we played together, he intentionally came up with an absurd theory about the gamestate (specifically that me and Tony were signalling to each other) and pushed it for 3 day phases in a row to conceal the fact that he was not doing any solving as mafia and was just repeating himself like a broken record.

Because it points out that your tunnel is completely lacking in any real basis, but you are making it the basis of your entire game of preflip world building.

Tim is never "helpful" on day one. Everyone who has played with him, or read a game he was in, or even talked about him in spec chat knows that. You are using "not helpful" to fake a wolf read, and then building a whole world view out of pre-flips, and it seems like it all comes back to "Tim asked Mist a question we don't wanna talk about so let's hack at him."

The pretending you don't see how that is a "defense" is I think the final log on the fire.

I gave opinions on everyone. If you expected me to throw flowers get a grip.

However, if you take off the conf bias glasses and read what I actually said you might find that some of the "mud" included "this is typical and NAI" while other "mud" was pretty serious "could be woofin' here." I know the conf bias glasses are pretty opaque, but c'mon.
