I've noticed when I was catching up quite a few people saying stuff along the lines of "I don't know how to read Alison". That's fine. But usually, I'd expect someone to ask me to describe my meta, or explain the differences between me being town and me being scum so they can read me better. Or even to ask the people I last played with what I was like.

I don't know what to make of this, but it bothered me a little so I'm writing it down.

I don't think you're suspicious, just looking in the wrong directions. I also think that you're the type of player who builds an understanding of a couple of players' alignments, then uses that to build a broader understanding of the game as a whole. Is that wrong? If that's how you look at the game, it would make sense to me that one wrong read would lead to others.

That is probably correct. Though I would say I operate with multiple possible worlds on top of each other. Also, the deeper insights you have, the more I worry about you being scum. So that's fun.

I didn't say it's only scum dizzy. It can also be town dizzy who is trying to kill town. They must both be stopped if possible.

I was right to be suspicious of people townreading me because I thought mafia would be in there. That was correct.

You have had enough experience through the game and spec chat to know how my mind works by now to make a decent read on me. In the same way as I do on tutuu now. I'm still a bit traumatised by Alison. I was leaving you alone until you wanted to push into jeraldoo and me because you were within "dizzy town range".

bit of background on 1612. Nicest guy ever. Also, fabulous hair. Just amazing. The best. We often have to wait for him to finish blowdrying it before we can start a voice mafia game with him. We wait for him because hes awesome.

Last few pages thoughts:

- Coming in and scumreading a bunch of town players is one of those mafia strategies that people often talk about, and often are paranoid about, but in my experience, is rarely actually executed by the mafia. The default instinct is to be agreeable, to go with the flow, and to avoid drawing too much attention to yourself. I'm sure it's within a strong scum player's range, but on the face of it, it is more townie than scummy. I think jeraldo is town.

- Dizzy and proto have very different ways of playing the game, and that leads to clashes and them mutually finding each other suspicious. I'm not really convinced by each person's case on the other, and I suspect that this is just an extension of that clash of playstyles more than anything. In a vacuum, I'd expect Dizzy and proto to wrongly scumread each other more often in general because of that.

I was first pinged by this post. I didn't like the mental gymnastics here - at once she simultaneously acknowledges that it was a joke from tutuu, and at the same time says that we should scumread tutuu for it. That doesn't really make sense to me - and it reads like an attempt to shade tutuu.

Later on Michelle says she is very busy and doesn't have time to read the game. I believe her. When you're scum and you don't have time to properly read and invest time into the game, you're far more likely to wolf "openly" (just straight up pushing your agenda, attacking town players, defending buddies etc. as opposed to more WIFOMy or manipulative plays). And you're far more likely to just skim through the thread until you find something a townie said that looks objectionable or sketchy, slap a scumread on them for it, and boom! You're done. You look like you've done solving and you've cast shade on a townie. That's what wolves who can't put in effort do.

This post is really bad, and it's a continuation of the behavior I described earlier - lazily picking out something objectionable to scumread and calling it bad to shade that player. If Michelle is town here, why does she think of herself as exebait? She hasn't posted anything overtly scummy, and she hasn't even let on that she's going to be relatively inactive at the time I "jumped" on her. She's not a chronically misexecuted player either - she's a Champs level player. I think she doesn't actually think she's exebait - she's just looking for a reason to make me look bad (she even calls it nagl - not a good look).

Note the agenda behind Michelle's post here. Exebaits, by definition, are people who are easy to execute because they exhibit scummy behavior. In other words, if she really was exebait, then I could easily be a town member falling for the exebait. How does Michelle know I'm scum trying to push her on false pretences rather than town attacking what appears to be a scummy individual? Does she put any effort into trying to sort me, or figure out my perspective or point of view to think if I'm attacking her from a scummy or townie standpoint? No, she doesn't - she's just coming at me with the intention of making me look bad.

The MP7 volume clear is lazy. If you're good enough to be in Champs, you're good enough to know that scum can have a high volume of posts. The suspicion on her wagon feels like lashing out in an OMGUS-y way. Specifically, the claim that we're voting her for NAI posts is suspect. Her post literally had an FoS on tutuu. Is that NAI? I don't think so. I think it's just Michelle - yet again - making up reasons to frame people's actions in a bad light, in a way that looks plausible on the surface (or to someone skimming the game because they're busy, like her), but that doesn't stand up to careful examination.

tl;dr - almost everything that Michelle has been saying is tinged with agenda, makes absolutely no sense, and fits completely within the MO of a busy wolf who doesn't have time to read or post carefully.

Actually, Urist, I want you to vote between Scirrus and Michelle today. I don't like that you're trying to go for a third option (whether it be jeraldo or me), because I think that when there's two closely tied wagons and the people they're on have high scum equity, it can be very alignment-revealing to force people to choose between them. For example, if Michelle flips scum, that says things about the people on her, and it says things about the people who were adamant about being on the counterwagon to her.
