Like he should know how bad this looks, if he comes back and Esooa is lynched and dies, he’s not gonna look extremely excellent. He’s also town reading me, but nobody is really looking into it either. It would be easy to call me scum, but he goes out of his way to say I’m town. Unless he’s just hamming up being a bad mafia player, but I think he has a lot more self awareness than he’s letting on.

Ratrug mentions this in a post right afterwards trying to dismiss it as not TMI. I almost think that is worse since I think Town!Ratrug would be less likely than Scum!Ratrug to realize they said something that looks like TMI.

Which means I think he's towny for his early-game sheep, and perhaps during that time he honestly believed Esooa was suspect more than BK and voted there. Its hard to tell though given his ISO barely mentions anything about BK.

A wolf hiding on a vanity wagon when the top two wagons are town and wolf is common. They don't want to contribute to the death of a teammate but they don't want to be caught pushing a town counterwagon to a wolf either, so they essentially no-vote by voting a vanity wagon that won't go anywhere, and pray the town wagon wins out (at which point they can lead the charge on everyone who was on that wagon).

So this helped me remember now. When the original points came up about Quin, I didn’t find it damning because I was hesitant to vote for Falcon too. The reasons were flimsy, but I could forgive some for being reasonable for day 1. So that’s the biggest difference it seems to me in mine and Quin’s reasoning. Their issue was with the lynch against Falcon itself and the reasons behind it, whereas my major issue had nothing to do with the Falcon aspect of it or the reasonings but simply how the bandwagon was forming.
But Quin’s responses really are leaving something to be desired here. I wouldn’t have been ready to follow Alison’s lead here when the suspicion was originally laid down, but I think I’m going to go there now.

Sure. I had her as a scum LEAN very early in the game but that was mostly because how active they were, and how involved they wanted others to get. Bear in mind, this was early in the game and I hadn’t even read the entirety of the thread. Making my post, I read Nanook and Esooa’s back and forth and I felt good about it. You’re highlighting a post by saying TMI but like you’re dismissing the case I had on Nanook originally as well.

I would also like to hear from Quinn and his defense.

What's the connotation you're applying with "dismissive" here, if anything?

If you find that to be scummy for Quin, I would like to know why. Not that dismissive isn't scummy, but generally I think the difference in context as to whether they're being dismissive with regards to subjects about someone else or dismissive with regards to subjects about themselves can be preety important or nuanced.

I can easily see a town, though I don't know Quin, just simply reacting dismissively after providing a simple (even if weak) reason on the basis that they have the full knowledge and confidence that they're town.

I'm not sure if they meant Alison being mean on a literal basis. Or at least that's how I read it; it was a metaphor. After all, I wouldn't expect anyone to actually think Alison was being mean after reading that, and it makes no attempt to extrapolate on how she's mean.

I don't know Quin either, so its possible I could be wrong, but it does seem to me we just have different perspectives as to what constitutes a towny response, and perhaps that's the best way I can put it without writing and deleting a sentence here 50 more times before I get it right since "towniness" is a complex concept.

i didn't want to lynch somebody on their birthday. alison called that sus. i'd have done it regardless of my alignment. alison can bite me.

alison (and others) also suspects me for other reasons. i gave those proper attention. don't misrepresent my content as being wholly dismissive. tell me what you think about the rest of what's happening here.
