In this round, players will be betting on the outcome of a race between 8 numbered horses. In order to win, you will need to guess the 1st and 2nd place finishers. However, unlike a normal horse race, the result is already decided. Before the game commences, each player will receive a hint about the placings. Also, there are three additional hints for sale. You may view one additional hint for the price of 3 Garnets.

Each player will be given 20 chips to be used for betting. When the game begins, 8 horses will race for 12 rounds. The race is 20 spaces long, and each horse may move a maximum of 3 spaces per round. At the end of each round, you may bet on any horse. You are allowed to split your bet on several horses, but you may not bet more than 3 chips in a single round. Also, you may not bet on any horse in the three spaces next to the finish line, which is referred to as the “no bet zone.” When two horses have reached the finish line, the game ends, and players who bet on the 1st or 2nd place horses will receive a payout depending on the horse’s odds. The more bets there are on a horse, the lower the odds, and the odds increase if there are fewer bets. In other words, if you are certain about 1st and 2nd place, you can increase the odds on those horses by preventing others from betting on them.

Any chips left over at the end are discarded. The player who receives the biggest payout will be the winner, and the player with the lowest payout will become the elimination candidate. The winner will receive 1 Garnet for every 10 chips they win, in addition to two Tokens of Life (one for them, and one to give to another player).

The odds for each horse will be calculated as follows: For a number of chips lesser than or equal to 18 on each horse, the payout if the horse wins will be (22 - numbers of chips currently on the horse). For example, if a horse with 10 chips bet on it won either first or second, each player would receive 12 chips for every chip they bet on the horse. If there are more than 18 chips on a horse, the payout if the horse wins will be ((4 * .9^(the number of chips on the horse - 18)). For example, if there are 20 chips on a winning horse, the payout will be calculated by multiplying 4 times .9 to the power of 2, which would produce 3.24 chips for every chip bet.

It is now Round 0. In 12 hours, Round 1 will begin.

Players can now bet chips on any horse. To do so, post the following message in the thread: "I bet {#} chips on Horse {#}."

To buy one of three numbered hints, please post this message in the thread: "I buy Hint {1, 2, or 3}." Hints cost 3 Garnets each.

Multiple people can buy each hint, by the way. DH and Golden aren't now the sole owners of these hints, unless no one else buys them over the course of the game.

Another quick note about the raceboard: When a horse reaches the "20" space, it counts as having finished the race. There's no weird special "FINISH" space like there was in Middle Race.

You can bet in any round, however, you cannot bet on a horse when it reaches the last three spaces or the “NO BET ZONE.”

No. Payouts are calculated after Round 12 based on the total number of chips.

It’s a mixture of both. TBH, it’s probably 70% the show and 30% me. They actually didn’t say how the payouts were calculated on the show, so this is my best guess.

I took it to mean sharing hints is fine, as long as you don't screenshot the original PM or literally use the forum quote/forwarding feature to prove that it came direct from INH.
