Your Captain has chosen to take you to the Space Bazaar to attempt to complete the Moderate job from Amnon Duul for a payout of $1200

In order to pass this skill you must achieve a 7 in the Attack skill.

Unfortunately you do not have a Soldier on your crew, so you don't receive the +2 bonus. Fortunately, you also do not have Tracey Smith on your crew so you do not get the -1 penalty either.

If any of you who have any Attack Skill Stats wish to abstain from assisting your captain in completing this job, you may tell me so privately by PM by 8 PM tomorrow night. Once I know who is participating a die will be rolled and added to the total attack stats from your crew that are contributing. The total will determine if you pass or fail.

At the end of N1 I will inform you if you have passed this skill check. In the meantime you may want to discuss strategy amongst yourselves.

The missions didn’t tell me what type of stat I’d need. Maybe I should research the board game.

I hope speed, glorf or marmot has some attack skill. The space bazaar sounded like a good place for diplomacy.

In the board game, Misbehave cards are drawn at random. This mechanic is intended to mimic that game aspect. You will never know for sure what skill you are being checked on until you choose the job. Unless you have chosen it before and know what it was because you failed it previously.

We still get a dice roll. And we have marmot too. So if they have 1 skill between them we have a chance and if they have 6 it’s a certainty.

At this stage, I was thinking of offering you up because you're the one I don't think will be lynched. But only if you're game for it.

I was intending to be the captain that just put myself up and kept the crew safe, but based on nearly getting lynched on day one I'm not quite feeling that bravado right now.

Yeah it's true. It just has my role name, role type and stats, and that I'm a civ. I assumed this was/is what everyone got, but it was only later on reflection that I realised this was just an assumption (when I started thinking about power roles). Does yours say something else?

i think, had i been around for the end of day shit i might have voted for novaselinever, i didn't like his responses, and the 1. 2. 3. list seems to use hyperbole to reduce the qualms against him into something less significant. like "what, you think I shoplifted some gum from a 711? you think I am part of some kind of big gum stealing enterprise and this is a big conspiracy?" that kinda thing

I thought it did but I must have been misremembering. I think I saw "unnamed scrapper" and "civilian" and just thought "cool so I'm a vanilla garbage boy, neat" and never looked back

A Scrapper is someone who collects parts of mechanical things (particularly ships) by either legal or illegal means and resells them. They salvage derelict ships for parts and any goods left behind.

kinda fucked up that my character doesn't have a name? y'all got names, i assumed i didn't have a name cus I wasn't a main character but you two are Milton Bradley's OC's Lund and Emma, am I a scrapper who doesn't have a name cus he's an Extreme orphan and was just never given one? or am i just experiencing my own deficit in Firefly knowledge

I looked back at it when speedchuck was 'scared' of DDL asking people to vote him. I realised I didn't remember seeing an actual 'role' description at all, and it was the first time it occurred to me. So I went back to look. It's not like I ever specifically thought of myself as vanilla, it was more like 'oh, did I not read my role power'?

Not all the characters were given names. I could have kept only named characters, but I was deciding which ones to keep based on stats. There were fewer roles with Tech stats Than the others. Sorry Kyle.

I didn't mean fucked up in like a "hey no fair" way more in like a "i feel bad for this space person i am i guess lightly roleplaying as because he has lived his whole life nameless" but now he's Khadgar and he's finally found his family and also he's a wizard for real so that's a thing.

I've had generally good vibes, but that gif casing was lol. Never played with her before so I don't know what to expect. It probably didn't hurt my opinion that she was the only other one who voted for nova.

Actually my favourite post she made was one where she said she had 'multiple worlds' in her head. I think that's a good sign for sincerity, more likely she's looking to make sense of what she's seeing rather than find a path that suits her ends. It's a mindset I find highly townie, and that I identify with.

I agree. He's seemed genuinely solvey to me and his frustration with the general quietness of many players seemed real.

Owner of a Lonely Heart seems almost too crazy to be mafia? but not in a bad way? like she just brought out a massive thing about picture and video tells and it's huge and I don't see the benefit of sticking her neck out like that if she's mafia with such a strange and specific tellset in her first game here.
