I will respond to this- you are absolutely correct, and I misspoke in my summation. WWA would have won if she shot leetic with Leetic shooting Epi. Town was only winning after that night if WWA and leetic had shot each other.Ricochet wrote: ↑Fri Feb 23, 2024 4:06 amI don’t recall Alison's role, but isn't this contradicting the wolves' entire win con? Traditionally, if F2 is wolf/town, wolf has "achieved parity" and the last town is no longer "a threat".Scotty wrote: ↑Thu Feb 22, 2024 9:42 pm -if WWA had shot leetic last night instead of Epi, she would have been in an F2 with Delta, and town would have WON. This is because Alison, who died very early in the game, was the tie breaker role. She ordered everyone by alphabetical order, EXCEPT WWA and Princess Abigail were at the top of the list of suspicions, so if WWA was ever in a tie breaker situation, she was doomed.

Re: Game of Champions- Merged Thread [DAY 9]
Notes:
-please let me know if there are any particular questions on any happenings of the game. The night actions, events, and other minutia we have in gigantic threads in a private forum lol. It’s a lot of info. But we ain’t hiding shit.
-events in play were sometimes cool, sometimes a bust. Miraculously, only two people in the entire game utilized the breath event on D2: WWA and Rico.
People just stopped responding to the Vocaroo event, which blows my mind, because the inference was free vig shots. I had 2 more ready to go, but people stopped guessing after the 4th was posted.
-in general, the events were a bit swingy but not overpowered. If you participated, you probably got an advantage (except poor Scrappy). A lot of people just….didnt.
-leetic’s entire game had a hilariously abysmal aspect for him. I mean, if he weren’t submitting actions, it almost wouldn’t have mattered. Literally all game,
-failed parity N1
-popped LC’s vest N2, had no idea (this was the ONLY action that technically made a difference)
-failed parity N3
-killed dizzy (duplicate kill) n4
-missed nook with a free vig shot d5
-self protected n5 (no one targeted him)
-shot WWA n6 (she was protected)
-parity cop WWA (success, but didn’t really matter)
-killed epi (duplicate kill) n8
^SK is a hard role, and Leetic expertly maneuvered not being too towny or too wolfy. So many times he could have been shot, but he just wasn’t.
-if WWA had shot leetic last night instead of Epi, she would have been in an F2 with Delta, and town would have WON. This is because Alison, who died very early in the game, was the tie breaker role. -Day 8’s yeet of Wilgy was the turning point for town. If they had yeeted one of leetic or WWA, this game would have mostly been more manageable
-unfortunately I hate kingmaking scenarios but because of the SK in play, poor delta needed to be around to assist. I’m sorry to make you endure the past 48 hours
-this game made my brain hurt
-cape’s presence had a chance to sew resounding chaos- he missed all the kills he could have gotten, and we only had one bus drive that sort of mattered. There was a time in D2 where sloonei and DM switched, which would have made Epi get shot during D2 if Abbi targeted DM with her vig shot

-this is an unfortunate aspect, and one we didn’t fully anticipate. In our balance, we structured it to be mostly symmetrical, but not entirely. We contemplated having a 3 person and a 4 person mafia, and making them more powerful. While we added a 3rd indie just to create more asymmetry, because the 3rd indie, leetic, was never revealed, everything up to that point looked perfectly even. So hindsight, it was all guesswork based on assumptions that the group started down the road of shoring up East/west. It also didn’t help Wilgy/windward that leetic was leading that charge, but he was with his own agenda.Ricochet wrote: ↑Thu Feb 22, 2024 8:31 pm Nah, iz fine.
GGs all around.
Congrats, leetic! Well earned, take joy in it.
Amazing performance, WWA, thanks for playing to bring it for us, against literally all odds, till the very last minute. I heavily enjoyed the teamwork, Arbiters were respected and respectable throughout and I take some final pride in that alone.
Thank you hosts for the game, real shame about the game proving a soft lock for wolves, but I'm certain you've tried your best and weathered the worst.

Re: Game of Champions- Merged Thread [DAY 9]
Well played Leetic!
And thank you all for playing! Sorry I wasn’t around at end of day, dealing with family emergency.
Will update with pertinent info in due course but here’s my thoughts:
I want to iterate that WindwardAway fought her ass off this game, and seemingly against all odds, almost managed a win. Even though her team didn’t win, they were probably the most active participants behind the scenes- with Rico and lemon constantly working out their strategies, it was a pleasure to follow.
And I just acknowledge DrWilgy, who was without a partner for 4 whole days before succumbing to a yeet at end game also fought hard despite serious feelings of feeling like things were a bit too steep of a climb to overcome.
Every player had a fighting chance to win for their team- town had many chances to push their team ahead for advantage, and there was a lot of great play on both sides this game, which I find very fulfilling as a host. When players are participating and trying to win, that’s all I can really ask.
Many thanks to SVS along this journey, who was very adamant about the no-info-dumping rule, which I think alters gameplay in such a unique way to allow the players to shine and not rely the mech. I also don’t have any experience with multiball, and she was very integral in keeping that balanced.

Re: Game of Champions- Merged Thread [Night 6]
SVS pressed the button on her laptop, and the team bus was immediately enveloped in a dark aura, teleporting the group into an eerie, desolate land. Coach Scotty marveled, "Amazing what Apple can do these days."
The team looked terrified, and sensing this, SVS spoke up.
“Now, now. I know the surroundings here are not normally where we practice. But…” she trailed off. A distant, otherworldly shriek pierced the sky. “But, well, the shoestring budget of this team is mostly spent covering your paltry salaries. Anything left over is for training facilities. And this one was dirt cheap.”
Scotty nodded along, then added, “Good news to all of you wishing to diet! This plane of existence also has a distortion that increases metabolism!”
“Which is why,” SVS butted in, “we brought a catered lunch for you all!”
Scotty froze, then turned sheepishly around. “We…we did?”
A hint of steam seemed to stream from SVS’ ears. “You didn’t buy it, did you?”
Scotty looked down and kicked an errant rock he suddenly found really interesting. SVS continued seething. “Well, shit.”
There is a list of resources below. You may claim one of them by using the vote tag and mentioning both Scotty and SVS. As an example:

These votes are NOT changeable. Once you pick something up, it’s yours. Claimed items will have the gatherer’s name added next to it (as we are able). If you inadvertently claim something that was already picked up, please pick something else.
If you fail to claim something properly, you will enter the Night empty-handed.
Non-food items will give an ability, and you will learn of said ability at end of day.

Re: Game of Champions- Merged Thread [Night 5]
The team bus pulled up to a makeshift fair on the outskirts of town, approaching a pop-up fair. Someone in the back yipped with excitement, despite the fact that over the past week the group had been culled past the point of fielding enough players for a team. But that didn’t stop the excitement one bit.
Coaches Scotty and SVS got out and led the group through carnival booths with balloon popping games and dunk tanks.
“What game are we playing?” A player inquired the coaches.
Scotty, with a twinkle in his eye, exclaimed: “It’s not a game we’ll be doing, kiddos. It’s a reading! Everyone likes reading!” The players looked unconvinced as they approached a large tent in the quieter part of the fair, and SVS opened the flap, ushering the bewildered team through.
The sounds of the fair became distant and muffled. It took everyone’s eyes a moment to adjust to the dim lighting. There was a small, round table in the middle of the equally small tent. It was draped in a thick material, with an altar cloth spread out over the top. Incense burned in a tray on the table, the wispy tendrils of the smoke curling and rising and the smell of sage hanging heavy in the room as it dissipated. A woman sat in the large wicker chair on the far side of the table. Her shoulders wrapped in a black crocheted shawl, her dark eyes studying everyone with keen interest as people entered.
"Have a seat," she said, motioning toward the empty chair in front of her with a perfectly manicured hand.
“Nah, we’ll stand. But thanks,” SVS said.
"Don't let the Zealot and his followers dissuade you. The cards can help guide you to finding truth."
“Oh. Well, I don’t know anything about zealots, I just saw your ad on Groupon that said it could help the team find their inner selves. We’ve got a big game coming up and want to be in the best shape we can be.”
The woman sat back and her demeanor immediately changed with chagrin.
“Oh, yes. Of course. Very well.” And she laid out a bunch of cards on her table. “Pick a card.”

ANNOUNCEMENT:
Lemonfairy was a super serious person.
But no one ever seemed to think so. She wasn't sure if it was being named "Lemonfairy" or her theme music. Whenever she entered the room, a parody trot K Pop song played. Not the most srs things; maybe it was the accordions? Perhaps being named King Ashurbanipal or perhaps playing Beethovens 9th Symphony as her theme song might have led to some more regard in that area?
She made many complex reads, and many towny posts. She played a hard game. She worked hard on an original art piece (two versions!). She won multiple art pieces in the contest. She was a top notch strategist.
She was a team player, and her death was unexpected.
All Hail the Mighty Lemonfairy; she was past her expiration date.

ANNOUNCEMENT:
Darling thought it was all so boring.
They way people talked, and the things they said. What was the point of it all? It was all just noise.
The people coming up behind her, shaking their fists, waving their pitchforks. Just so much noise. She was good at shutting out noise. She knew right from wrong, and that was all there was to it, and she didn't much care if they liked it or not.
It was what it was.
As they got closer, she straightened up, and slowed her pace. Walked like the beauty queen she was, not giving them the satisfaction of looking over her shoulder, so they saw no sign of fear. By she saw no sign of the bullet.

Re: Game of Champions- Merged Thread [Night 4]
It had been a hard day for the team. After losing more and more athletes in particularly gruesome ways, Coach SVS decided the team needed to unwind, and gain a new perspective. So when Scotty came in to the training facility rapping in the most unintentionally offensive way possible, she got an idea.
“Come on folks, grab your pencils, notebooks and your artsy hats. We’re going to a Karaoke bar!”
Scotty looked exuberant. “Hell to the yeah! Now I can practice my beatboxing in a safe space!”
A player raised their hand, and asked concernedly: “But what does that have to do with being a better mafiasportsball player?”
SVS shook her head solemnly. “The rhythm of the words are under appreciated by you kids these days. It’s about time you let the words approach you instead of approaching the words.”
Scotty snapped repeatedly in response. SVS beamed. Then she put on her beret, and motioned for everyone to follow her to the dusty bar downtown. Over her shoulder, as she saw no one was moving, she added, “Drinks are on Scotty.”
Scotty did a double take, and looked around bewildered. “They…they are?”
But no one heard his existential question, as everyone clamored to race to the bus.

Re: Game of Champions- Merged Thread [Night 3]
The bus careened through the desert at breakneck speed, kicking up a trail of dust and seemingly targeting every pothole on the road along the way.
When the team arrived to Camp Green Lake, rubbing their bruised backsides, the door opened to a vast field of hardened dirt and emptiness.
Coach SVS surveyed the field. “This’ll do. It’s an old pitch.”
Coach Scotty coughed and whistled uncomfortably, then started: “Yes, well. I also forgot the bag with the gear. Whoopsie Daisy.”
SVS scowled. “Well it’s a good thing this used to be a MafiaSportsball pitch. I’m sure the property manager wouldn’t mind if we all pitch in and dig around here to find some equipment so we can practice.”
There are items buried in the lakebed. Each player may dig one hole today, if it has not already been claimed. Claim a hole by using the vote tags and picking a plot, such as [VOTE: Dig A1] aubergine.
Players will learn if they find anything from their hole at end of day. This will not be revealed publicly.
(Grid will be updated as time allows)
If a player doesn’t dig a hole today, they will receive +1 vote against them in the poll.

Re: Game of Champions- Merged Thread [Day 3]
After the tremors subsided, players from both the East and West facilities sheltered into the main facility. They looked like a real team, having spent some days squabbling and competing, but coalescing into a dysfunctional family. They were all taking a nap on cots in the bleachers, since the owner hadn’t left enough money in the budget for real lodging.
Coaches Scotty and SVS stood at a makeshift table playing Jenga when a gentleman in a suit approached silently, carrying a hedgehog under an arm. Seeing how no one noticed his presence, he tickled the sides of the hedging, who let out a guttural, other-worldly scream.
SVS, in mid-Jenga pull, jerked when she heard the sudden noise, causing the tower to fall. Scotty cried out, “BOO-YAH, LAMIST!” and jumped for joy.
The gentleman cleared his throat, and SVS eyed him warily.
He began: “Hi. I’m from the hospital. We wanted to thank you all profusely for the art donations. Now the sick, dying children can have beautiful art to see in their waning days.
The players, waking from their naps, tittered their satisfaction.
The gentleman announced, “If you all would come with me to the art gallery at the hospital, we would love for you all to view other’s creations. And you can all help us decide which ones should go in the main lobby of the hospital!”
“Absolutely,” SVS nodded, “but only after they brush their teeth. They smell like dirt and blood.”
The discord server has been updated showing an Art Show channel. Everyone’s submitted art is displayed there in no particular order.
Every player has been given $100 Mafia Bucks for this phase.
Today within the first 24 hours of the day, in your private channel, you can silently bid for as many art pieces as you wish with the Mafia Bucks you have, with a max bid on any one item at $99. You may NOT bid on your own art piece, nor may you share Mafia Bucks; any Mafia Bucks not spent after this phase become worthless.
The highest bidder of each art piece will receive it. All art pieces will provide special 1x abilities. However, the winning bid determines the chance it will FAIL.
The Auction will end at the 24 hour mark, so get bidding!

For example, if SVS wins artwork Z with a bid of $35, there is a 35% chance she will fail when using the power associated with that art.
