Well woopty doo, I didn't prepare a video for a final-30-minute vote switch on Vompatti, either. Enjoy this shitty short YouTube clip, instead.

Yikes. I don’t like this as a legacy post. There is nothing legacy about this.

Times like this make me wish this were retrocausality mafia so I can stop myself from checking mafia in the bathroom a few hours ago because now I’m back to you being bad
What do you mean?

If Vompatti is scum, and Fractal or speed are on their team, they have NO reason to persuade people off me. And you have absolutely no reason to switch. I was the consensus lynch candidate for about 22 hours; nobody would have came for any of you, except for maybe you for my calling out, had I died. It doesn’t clear me, but it definitely would have cleared them/you.
It seems hokey as a legacy post, and that also does not clear anyone. That was started towards the end of the day about 20 min before EoD. It may not have even picked up. Mafia could use that as advantageous if they bet on it not picking up
I dunno. From my perspective my goose was cooked so there was simply no reason for anyone to go against the tide to lynch another civ.

I don’t know precisely yet, I haven’t read anything. It was just a shock. Sig had provided some suspicion, I didn’t see vomps as a likely candidate for motivation to kill juliets. It’s low hanging fruit.

I haven’t undertaken nk analysis in years, because I rarely find it works out. This is not a situation that needs an alternate theory.

Though upon a quick ISO skim I'm liking Nutella's posts I don't think both LC and nutella were mafia so i'm going to give her a light town read.

Also sorry for the lack of posts this phase, i ended up getting caught up with some things. Tomorrow I should be more or less free though so I'll be doing some game solving.

Plus I'm back down to one game from three. :llama:

I'm becoming increasingly more paranoid that one of the two is mafia yes, do i have a case against them? No.

I could also see them being misguided civs and trying to save you since you were active and posting. Though out of all the people who voted Vomps I'd say the one with the most equity as a teammate would be Scotty. He seemed to have the weakest reasoning for jumping wagon away from you.

Honestly your posts leading up to the lynch read more gut bad to me then good, a twinge of desperation filled them, one that didn't seem townie. :ponder:

I'd like some other people's thoughts on this though.

Fractal:

Fractal has consistently been townread by me since he first entered the game. I have no idea what he's capable of as a player, but he's appeared to be very incisive and working in a logical, pro-town direction. He seems to be playing by asking a lot of questions and trying to understand people's reads and/or motivations if they have any. He actively attempts to steer lynches and isn't afraid to play a centerpiece part in the game.

My point is is that if he's bad he is one dastardly motherfucker and I would then be in a "if Scotty's bad I'll eat G-Man's dictionary" moment. I see no reason to doubt that Fractal is capable of doing that, so I want other people to see if they can find a reason this is a bad dude. I can't. I thought at first he looked as if he was just relying on others to build cases for him via his questions because he can't 100% duplicate a townie's lack of knowledge, but then he went ahead and made a big rainbow list that made so much sense. So.

He has a stray mention of Long Con that is kind of interesting in the non-committal scum way potentially, but I felt pretty much the same way and even went after the same target as him. Fractal as scum would literally have been dispatched to gain my trust and weaponize me, basically, and I hope that has not happened. One can also argue that his list of people he's suspicious of as of D2, aside from nutella (lapluie, Vompatti, Turnip Head) are easy targets that anyone could take up issue with more for their inactivity or particular playstyles than for actually looking bad. That sketches me out the most of anything, probably.

Fractal has earned a GOLD STAR

insertnamehere:

INH's initial "Hot Tub of Trust" post is a mystifying one indeed. If he is town, why does he categorically remove Vompatti from the pool of potential suspects? Why does he even clear Blooper, looking back? If he is scum, double both those questions. I want to point out too that when he's not tubbing it he plays what I see as a very Epignosis-like game: not belaboring himself to make giant posts of information and argument, not forthcoming with thoughts and feelings because he doesn't have to be. Whether that's a bad thing or not remains yet to be proven.
insertnamehere wrote: Tue Jun 19, 2018 5:09 pm Dom is kinda hard to read for yrstruly, and I honestly don't get why he's the guy that the mob ganged up against on Day 1. I'm always willing to vote for the most inactive person in the absence of any stronger suspects, and Lapluie has earned my ire.

[VOTE: lapluie] aubergine
Yeah, I dunno. Not a bad stance to take at all, but I get in trouble for a sort of bucking-the-eventual-civ-lynch moment as scum and this could be it. Although Dom was not a big force to be reckoned with in this game, so maybe not.
insertnamehere wrote: Thu Jun 21, 2018 6:27 pm Now onto my suspects:

LC reads damn weird to me. I'd be utterly chuffed if he was lynched today. In fact, the people apprehensive about lynching him despite agreeing with the case on him are inspiring some apprehension in myself.

Nutella, I've honestly gotten neutral vibes from. I disagree with her about Speed, but I also agree that a bad Nutella wouldn't necessarily be so vocal about him. I'm willing to keep her around a bit longer.

What are people's stances on siggy-boy?
This comes in near the tail end of Long Con's lynch. A very justifiable vote I don't disagree with, but is it instead a moment of saving face, trying to earn townie points?

INH, I'd like to hear these suspicions articulated when you have a chance.

Kyle:

There isn't a lot to go off with Kyle. As I said earlier it feels like he is just sort of dipping his toes in. Most of his scumhunting looks directed at nutella, particularly when Long Con is facing heavy scrutiny:
Kylemii wrote: Thu Jun 21, 2018 5:19 pm hmmmm

well if it's between long con and nutella i think nutella looks worse

however speed brought up some good points about her not playing like fire emblem, i think i want to review LC's activity at early u-pick to see if juliets is right. I remember him being active but maybe I'm just remembering his bts persona

What if it wasn't, though?

1.5 hours left. Don't restrict yourself if this is town/town, or if there's a better option.
that's actually what I'm thinking.

long con's behavior in u-pick was different than it is here. in that game sure he wasn't like super "town" day 1 or anything but he put effort into asking questions and even made a big multi paragraph post. That doesn't mean LC isn't mafia here, but if LC is mafia here then he's taking a noticably different (more laid back) approach to the game.
Is this a subtle attempt at defending his teammate, Long Con? It's not a full-on "No way is Long Con scum!", it leaves the door open for a lynch, but it emphatically seems to suggest that nutella is the scummer we should be going after instead (which I don't necessarily disagree with, but if she's town ...)

He later switches from being pro-nutella-lynch to being pro-Colin-lynch, when faced with the option, and I just don't really see his reasoning:
Kylemii wrote: Sat Jun 23, 2018 2:36 pm between nutella and colin i think colin looks worse, my main worry about nutella was her treatment of her suspicion of me, but i don't see her lowering it at the end of day 2 before long con's lynch as being an optimal move for a baddie to make when there wasn't any pressure for her to not make that and also suspecting me early game for not seeming like im contributing is pretty easy to get away with.

my read through of colin's posts left me consistently pinged enough that I'm comfy leaving a vote there
But I'm biased, so

Lapluie:

Lapluie has not posted enough for anyone to have a read on her. I do not believe anyone can really be pinged by what her ISO contains. She is a target for a lynch only as a matter of policy for me.

Lunalee:

Luna's first pingy moment comes when she does this D1, after saying that she didn't like the idea at all and sort of walking it back but not really:
Lunalee wrote: Tue Jun 19, 2018 11:50 am I'm going to [VOTE: Dragon D. Luffy] aubergine because I think it would be cool to try a randomized day one lynch, and DDL is the next one down on the poll who needs a vote.
She looks throughout D1 as if she is hoping somebody will just tell her to vote for so that she doesn't have to come up with a reason she knows is fake based on almost nothing. It's a perennial scum dilemma and not everybody handles it so well.

This time I haven't had that feeling at all. I'm not saying it's AI because I seem to be pinged by her when she is good and bad. Because I'm not pinged this time I'm neutral on her.
This post feels like teammates.

Dom pinged me for other reasons. I've explained them earlier. Tonal meta.
@Marmot I may switch to Dom. I trust speedchuck is town, and he has a better read on Dom's meta than I do.
This post feels like bandwagoning.
nutella wrote: Tue Jun 19, 2018 5:14 pm Agree here and if speed suspects Luna he's probably onto something
This post also feels like bandwagoning.
speedchuck wrote: Tue Jun 19, 2018 5:17 pm My later posts say the opposite.

I've been burned too many times by Luna for underestimating her. I will not be doing that this game.
This post feels like legit frustration.

Yeah seriously somebody explain to me why??? Barely said anything that looked sus yet I'm accused
I voted for you by default for not posting. Idk why others did.
I voted for the same reason lap. But now you are posting so I'm going to move my vote to the lowest poster nova who as far as I can see just posted his story and has posted nothing else. He was a low poster in a recent game I just played and was bad.

[VOTE: novaselinever] aubergine
This post feels like really lazy.

Civ Juliets is not lazy iirc.
ColinIsCool wrote: Tue Jun 19, 2018 6:07 pm INH’s post tonally was so false to me that I don’t think I’ll be defaulting to nova.
I dunno about Dom. Hard to read I guess.
Epignosis is not in this game but if he was I feel like he's have stuff to nitpick about this word usage.

I think.

I guess.
I want to clarify something about my town meta, DDL. When I'm town I'm a lot more adventurous with my posts, sometimes at the risk of getting lynched early. Also If I were on a scum team with Marmot, I would not be communicating with him in thread like this, I would use our BTSC. I'm insulted that you think I would be that obvious.
Anybody else think the "I'm insulted" bit looks a little heavy-handed? As in, are you really?

The biggest thing in Luna's favor, imo, is that she essentially built the case against Long Con and deserves credit for his lynch. It's possible that the team made a conscious decision to bus him, and Luna did a fair amount of bussing in U-Pick as I recall, so we should examine whether those reasons are contrived:
Lunalee wrote: Thu Jun 21, 2018 11:27 am Long Con seems more excited about screaming at the music videos than posting real content, so I'm going to look at him for a second.

He shoots down sig's proposition on day 1, but come on, who didn't.
He missed the day one vote.
He ended up on DDL's list of screaming banshees, but I'm not convinced that means anything.
Put off replying to sig with what he thought about the day 1 lynch.
Continues to scream back at King Ramses
Asks speedchuck and Kylmii why they voted for him (on what I assume was the day one poll?).

Overall feel on Long Con: He seems lazy in this game, and not very helpful. I give him a read of probably scum.
Ask yourself this: looking at the same pieces of evidence, would you come to the conclusion that Long Con is "probably scum"? I sure wouldn't, but I want other people to know. If Luna is scum, this is incredibly crafty of her, but insufficient reasoning would betray her here. It's made even more complicated by the fact that she reads sig later on with more stuff to go off of but is hesitant to give him as convicting a sentence. Hmm hmm hmm.
Lunalee wrote: Thu Jun 21, 2018 3:11 pm From what I see of nutella's posts, she is very set on getting speed lynched. And speed is trying very hard in this game, which makes him a threat to town. I don't like that look on nutella. She also seems needlessly concerned with the King Ramses sock puppet account. At this point I don't see a reason to be concerned with a sock puppet account that posts random weird videos. And she's voting Lapluie, who I'm also looking at. So they are probably not team mates.

Lapluie looks like low-hanging fruit to me right now. She had a bit of a slow start, and appears to be struggling to keep up. I don't have reason to think she's not town, and I don't want to lynch her today, but I'll definitely be keeping my eye on her.

In fact, after looking at lapluie's posts, if just makes nutella seem that much more scummy for jumping from speed to lapluie. It's like she realized speed wasn't going down easy, so she found a easier target.
This post though does ring true as far as what I know about Luna's town meta. It's a perfect 1:1 replica of her town thinking if she is not actually town, at least as I understand it.

The tinfoil is strong with this one. The tinfoil, pending further discussion, says Luna is on a scumteam with Long Con and they're playing a long con of their own by sacrificing him to earn our trust, and Luna was the point man carrying it out. The evidence does not directly confirm the tinfoil though and I have to say there are proooooooobably more town points than scum ones.

Lunalee has earned a RED BADGE OF COURAGE (BUT POTENTIALLY RED IN A REALLY BAD WAY, LIKE RED = SCUM)

Marmot:

Marmot has been very inactive in this game because he is allegedly climbing mountains, or whatever it is that marmots do. I have no idea what his scum game looks like, so more experienced minds are needed.
Marmot wrote: Tue Jun 19, 2018 2:12 pm I'm gonna [VOTE: nijuukyugou] aubergine

Her greatest contribution thus far is stating that she dislikes when someone asks another player for their meta, and then she describes her meta as congruent between her civilian and mafia play.
This is a pretty fair assessment, imo, and a reasonable vote to make.

Not that I've seen.
She's checked into the scumchat. She should be here soon.
In Easter JJJ nearly lynched a town doc Marmot for "engaging in WIFOM" which is apparently part of his scum meta. It was wrong then, but note it here.

I understand his thought process for finding me suspicious on D1, so it's a good look for him. Beyond that, there is very little of substance to go off of.

Marmot gets awarded the LAPLUIE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP for needing to be active, but I feel townish for now.

I warned y’all that Vomp wasn’t a good lynch target unless there was literally no better option. Dude has the most bulletproof meta ever.

I’ll be honest, both Nutella and Colin have me quite confused as to their alignment. If I had to guess, with a proverbial gun to my head, I’d say they were both civ.

That brief little list of possible scum reads I posted after LC’s death was mainly gut-based throwing-spaghetti-at-the-wall type stuff. It did weird me out how freaked out Scotty was by being named in it. Little bit too overly defensive IMO

On the road and phone posting, so I’m not sure how much I’ll be able to contribute to the discourse. I’ll leave everyone with this hot take that I really truly only 70% believe in: Marmot, Lapluie, Sig, Scotty. At least one of those people is bad.

David Njoku, #85 Tight End for the Cleveland Browns:

I've never played with Blooper so I have a mild apprehension for her posts, as well as a skepticism directed inwardly of my own apprehension. What I'm getting at is ... I dunno bro.

Well, that answered my question about your vote when looking at the poll. And this is why I don't like questions about meta - I wouldn't win whether or not I chose to answer it, hence being backed into a wall. But fair enough - I chose to answer it as I did. I actually appreciate the suspicion from you and Luna - I'm noticed! It's sig's trust that weirds me out a little.

Obligatory Day 1 philosophy/early commentary: if none of you buggers catches my eye significantly, I will vote a very low poster. I'll repeat and re-repeat (in reference to other games I've played) that I'd rather lynch a nonplayer and get a chance of catching a baddie lying low than lynch a civ who's actually playing Day 1 because they talk. I'll be here, checking in and out, for a bit. Conversation is nice since I have time to do it, yay!
Marmot's vote was reasonable. Blooper's response is also reasonable, as are the other pieces of this post. T/T for now.
nijuukyugou wrote: Thu Jun 21, 2018 5:09 pm All right, I gotta go soon for Appointment #5343256 today (actually it's #4, but still that's a lot for one day), but I have caught up enough to give a vote.

@ColinIsCool, thanks for answering my question. Makes sense. I like gathering reads and reactions.

I see a linki for Golden - from what I see between the two, it's Luna's (I hope I'm right - I'm just typing from memory rather than going back meticulously through the thread) breakdown of LC's behavior. Missing the vote, contributing fluff, etc. I considered him, as well as lapluie again, for a vote, for being mostly absent and fluffy (awwww), especially lap - she disappeared after suspicion died pretty quick, but I also see others saying this is "normal" for her. I know LC's a busy dude, and the last couple of games I've played with him, he's been like this, IIRC. Mixed alignments, IIRCA (the A is for Again). But I don't like letting possible baddies lie low for long, busyness or "playstyle" or not.

I'm most pinged today, however, by nutella, especially in regards to suspicion of speedchuck. I get it - you're looking at his previous games as a baddie and playing at Supatown. But I found myself asking the same question as someone else (sorry, don't remember who, even though I think it's even on this page): since when did apathy indicate civvieness? I know I've been burned a few times by super active people fooling me into thinking they're good because of their activity, but I feel like I've been fooled more often by those lying close to the surface (literally and figuratively, different verbs).

Yes, my vote is slightly contradicting what I've just said about low-lying players (hell, even as I'm writing it, I'm second-guessing the crap out of myself, as this tie is more favorable than yesterday's IMO), but I'm going with nutella since I feel the stronger ping the more I read her.

(Do y'all want an aubergine with that? They're pretty all right, but I prefer squash in the summer.)

Good god the linki (yes I'm going to comment on it every time it happens)
I'm inclined to agree with Fractal that I like the honest admission of self-contradiction, but at the same time ... I do shit all the time as scum that might make me look bad and then call myself out for doing it precisely so you'll walk away thinking I'm honest. On the face of it, I have no reason to doubt what's happening in this post — the LC stuff may look sort of belabored, but it is also kind of just the vibe of the posting/thinking style I get from Blooper — so that might be tinfoiling.

The other thing to mention is that Blooper has been cursed. I think that this removes her from being Shirley, but the question should be: why Blooper? What's she done to deserve it, in your view? I don't know the answer to that myself.

Blooper/Njoku gets a TYROD TAYLOR FOOTBALL SCHOLARSHIP FOR BEING PRETTY GOOD
