For example: I may say I would have Jay on my team, because that would be the dream team, but realistically, if I really was chosen as the don, I probably would think of how great an implication me flipping would have on Jay as a teammate and would instead leave him out, etc.

In the end, my team wouldn't consist of vocal town leaders and mafia masterminds (imo). It would be a great big mix and people I wouldn't implicate when I flip as the don. Even if I did it randomly, I'd tweak it.

I will be home in about 11 hours from now. So yes. Though I really don't understand the fixation on forcing me to. I would do a better job creating a case on them from thin air as mafia so the more compelling I am the more likely I am to get civ read is annoying logic. I know this sounds weird but I am sure I have exhibited many civ tells during this process but people are tunnelblind.

It's the confusion on your alignment that rang very true to me (I think anyone whose backstory is linked to someplace other than Goodguyia would be confused of alignment specifically? maybe?). It wasn't a "I don't know if I've been recruited to the mafia or not" or "has the mafia team been selected already?" like some others, it was "so, what is my alliance / what is my win condition?". I hate to town read you based on a game mechanic like that, and something that may be really puke worthy info dumping, but info dumping is allowed in this game and I went through the exact same thought process, so I can't unsee it anymore.

also, if someone throws shit at MacD, he will throw that shit back in your face almost immediately, with a lot more aggressiveness, whether he is civ or scum. I know that much from MacDougall, so I would never build a whole case around him based solely on omgus. I may have felt worse about him had he not mentioned the alliance thing, but unfortunately (or fortunately?), I'm going to town read him now based on logistics like that cos it happened. I won't by lynching him today.

I'm not sure I'm ready to read into story text like that. This could all be coincidental. I don't see why JOH would reveal actual bad guys' genders with a story there exclusively for flavor.

Why would some of us be male and some of us female, then? I think I'll take all the contextual clues I can get. I can see character genders being significant, and if not, what's the harm in accounting for them anyway?

This is a bad reply. I clearly know how to play mafia, and you clearly are twisting what I said. You couldn't have possibly had gotten any solid info on that many people enough to make that many reads at the time you posted that in the thread. Gattling a ton of random reads doesn't really give us much except possible connections back to you for later game. If you were vacationing why choose this as your one contribution to the thread? Once again, seems to be you attempting to set up a presence in the thread with those "reads".

The Syndicate has something weird here called Gun To Head reads (which I think are easy to fake, so I think the exercise is a waste of time when performed in a group usually). Are you familiar with those? Because MacDougall's defense was that those fast civ/sus reads were GTH reads which is basically a game where you make a fast, uninformed decision on how you feel about players by placing them in one of two categories: town or scum--without analyzing or backing up with reasons.

He's referring to your town read of cBob. Don't play obtuse and go around in circles with our new members, Jay.

Jay throws town reads left and right, Dr. White. He throws scum reads out the same way. In this beginning of Day 1, he must have voted for 3 or 4 people already and called out several more. It's just his play style and not really alignment indicative. If he sees something good, he gives you civ credit for it. If he sees anything bad, he deducts points. Me and him are alike in how we keep player tallies that way.

I do GTH reads by myself all the time, it's how my intuition works. I just don't think having a data sheet about what everyone's GTH reads are is fool proof in anyway to catching scum.

I didn't catch up on the first handful of pages... I think I started reading around when my draft time came.

Does the above post mean anything that anyone knows for sure? Specifically.... lapluie and sig... are they bad? I mean, I assume not for sure, because that's not how this kind of thing works... but what's up?

The good aren't good and the bad aren't bad. Nations are randomly assigned. There was some talk about Jay, RDW and Marmot's roles being linked (Paladin is the promoted Cavalier after all), but I don't see the connection between Thief 2 and Wyvern Rider the same way. Also, it would beg the question why Thief 2 and not Thief 1. So basically, your guess is as good as ours. Are you from either Goodguyia or Badguyia? You don't have to answer that question, unless you feel comfortable doing so.
