The second one.Kites wrote: ↑Sun Feb 11, 2018 7:00 pm Jackofhearts2005 question about my power
”If your target uses an offensive action against a player who is not part of Lord Rico's army, they have a 15% chance to nightkill their target”
So if i target a player who executes a nightkill, his/her chance to succeed is reduced from 100 to 15?
or does it mean that any offensive action, not necessarily nightkill, has a 15% chance to kill the target?
or something else?
It will not reduce nightkill chances and it will stack.
So if you target a fighter, they will have a 15% chance to kill. If you target a Myrmidon, they will have a 30% chance to kill instead of a 15% chance. If you target the mafia hitman, you change 100% to 115% which does nothing.

I however found JJJ "strong town reading" Colonial interesting, since it was solely on the grounds of him listing his own reads. Mafia can easily do that as well as to not appear like they are parroting . That is a very interesting link given the colonial-Mac dynamic.
Nutella jumped on Mac pretty early. Not sure if it was a pressure vote, but it really put me off towards them.
Not sure how DDL plays here. He seems more passive and backing down a bit, I will keep a watch on him for sure. Anyone who wants to give me his meta summary feel free.

so many of the day 0 posts were like one line posts about like "hey I want to be a mage" "you're a mage now" the actual important posts are longer and easy to identify. it's really not as bad as it looks.

So in a game in which one is to determine who received a mafia role one should utilise no intuition whatsoever? Interesting. I have been playing the game wrong for 7 years.

This is a bad reply. I clearly know how to play mafia, and you clearly are twisting what I said. You couldn't have possibly had gotten any solid info on that many people enough to make that many reads at the time you posted that in the thread. Gattling a ton of random reads doesn't really give us much except possible connections back to you for later game. If you were vacationing why choose this as your one contribution to the thread? Once again, seems to be you attempting to set up a presence in the thread with those "reads".MacDougall wrote: ↑Sun Feb 11, 2018 8:57 pmSo in a game in which one is to determine who received a mafia role one should utilise no intuition whatsoever? Re: Fire Emblem Draft Mafia [Day 1]
The Syndicate has something weird here called Gun To Head reads (which I think are easy to fake, so I think the exercise is a waste of time when performed in a group usually). Are you familiar with those? Because MacDougall's defense was that those fast civ/sus reads were GTH reads which is basically a game where you make a fast, uninformed decision on how you feel about players by placing them in one of two categories: town or scum--without analyzing or backing up with reasons.Dr. White wrote: ↑Sun Feb 11, 2018 9:10 pmThis is a bad reply. Jay throws town reads left and right, Dr. White. He throws scum reads out the same way. In this beginning of Day 1, he must have voted for 3 or 4 people already and called out several more. It's just his play style and not really alignment indicative. If he sees something good, he gives you civ credit for it. If he sees anything bad, he deducts points. Me and him are alike in how we keep player tallies that way.

Yes, votes are in the thread in ALL CAPS, BOLD and UNDERLINED and a manual tally should follow each page so we can keep track of order they were placed. Let me see if I can grab and update the last tally.
Re: Fire Emblem Draft Mafia [Day 1]
Never have. Sounds futile as the only benefit would be cross referencing those reads later when more alignment info is present. Seems much more of a scum ploy as I've previously explained, especially with the amount given.dunya wrote: ↑Sun Feb 11, 2018 9:15 pmThe Syndicate has something weird here called Gun To Head reads (which I think are easy to fake, so I think the exercise is a waste of time when performed in a group usually). The Oxford Comma is essential to use, and it has been proven in a court of law for a substantial amount of money.gwilikers6 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 11, 2018 3:28 pm I think you’re misinterpreting that and JOH is simply not a proponent of the Oxford comma. Although if I were mafia in this game I would probably take advantage of the set-up confusion some people are experiencing and just lay low for a little while so I dunno. What do you all think?

Re: Fire Emblem Draft Mafia [Day 1]
I'm not usually a fan of GTH exercises. Recently I associate them with a game where Jay asked everyone to GTH read every player and he turned out to be scum. I'm sometimes okay with providing them depending on how it's asked, but I much prefer rainbows or more backed-up/nuanced readsDr. White wrote: ↑Sun Feb 11, 2018 9:21 pmNever have. I do GTH reads by myself all the time, it's how my intuition works. I just don't think having a data sheet about what everyone's GTH reads are is fool proof in anyway to catching scum.

sig and lapluie aren't bad based on this. That's just where they are from (it's "flavor").

Hey, Pegasus sister! I assume we'll never vote for each other, right?nutella wrote: ↑Sun Feb 11, 2018 9:28 pmI'm not usually a fan of GTH exercises. Interesting. I have been playing the game wrong for 7 years.

[mention]Long Con[/mention] Whether you are from Goodguyia, Allyia, or Badguyia is irrelevant to your alignment.
The mafia are all most definitely from Badguyia per their backstories, but they are also given fake backstories from another region.

The answer: all of them, if you are a marmot.

I did see that some Civs will be from Badguyia, but I didn't expect them to be explicitly listed under the Evil Army. I don't know where I'm from.Epignosis wrote: ↑Sun Feb 11, 2018 9:31 pmI had the same question, but it's explained in the rules.Long Con wrote: ↑Sun Feb 11, 2018 9:29 pmI didn't catch up on the first handful of pages... Re: Fire Emblem Draft Mafia [Day 1]
The good aren't good and the bad aren't bad. Nations are randomly assigned. There was some talk about Jay, RDW and Marmot's roles being linked (Paladin is the promoted Cavalier after all), but I don't see the connection between Thief 2 and Wyvern Rider the same way. Also, it would beg the question why Thief 2 and not Thief 1. So basically, your guess is as good as ours. Are you from either Goodguyia or Badguyia? You don't have to answer that question, unless you feel comfortable doing so.Long Con wrote: ↑Sun Feb 11, 2018 9:29 pmI didn't catch up on the first handful of pages...
