Re: Hogwarts Mafia - Day 2
The couple of games I've played with Mac where he was civ he was guns a-blazing picking out mafia. It doesn't mean I automatically buy his picks hook, line and sinker, that's why I asked him for some reasoning on them. It doesn't mean I think you are bad just because he named you.Glorfindel wrote: ↑Thu Nov 01, 2018 9:05 amForgive me but...juliets wrote: ↑Thu Nov 01, 2018 8:40 amYou have proven yourself adept at identifying mafia when you're civ so I have to seriously consider what you have to say here. And is there anything you would be willing to share about Quin, Glorf, and Kyle? I don't think I've ever seen a bad Glorf so I'd like to know what you see. Re: Hogwarts Mafia - Day 2
Well at the moment I am most interested in Bullzeye, not so much for his vote for Nova because voting a no show on Day 1 has been accepted practice in the past, but more because he posted on Day 1 but his posts were almost all devoid of content. That doesn't feel like civ Bullz to me - he's an outstanding player.
I think I made it clear that I don't suspect JJJ and I haven't read back on OoaLH but her refusal to vote for TH seemed more of a civ move to me than a baddie move. I may have more thoughts on her later when I read her back.
I'm just kind of throwing things out here, is there anything specifically you would like me to speak to?

Ok thanks for the explanation. I actually thought poutanko (I think thats who it was) was kidding Jay when they called him a nutcase because Jay's comment struck me as funny. But we all have our different ways of interpreting things in mafia and I could very well be wrong.Glorfindel wrote: ↑Thu Nov 01, 2018 9:27 amThat new girl referred to Jay as a ‘nutcase’ if my memory serves me correctly. Was it Chuckles that wrote that character assassination piece on him earlier today? I thought you were trying to get at something specific. I mean I have thoughts that may not be pertinent to you. I generally try to solve using POE and question people a lot to be able to remove them from my POE. There are people right now that I'm seeing as civ but I'm of two minds about naming them - I don't really want to put a target on their back by me and others naming them as civ Imo though I have named some where I thought it was appropriate. That may be why you see me as guarded. Anyway, I have people I think of as civ, Bullz that I am thinking as bad, and then a group of people I haven't decided on which would include for example, Long Con, Jackofhearts, kara, Luna, you and Soneji. Something is bothering me about timmer but I can't put my finger one it so I will re-read him today. It's from Firefly. We had 4 I believe ship captains who picked their crew. Each ship had a name, mine was the Yun Qui and our captain was TH. People accused us of sticking together as a team instead of looking for baddies among our own shipmates. We all had good reads on each other but TH was bad, fooled us all to the very end.

Re: Hogwarts Mafia - Day 2
I just re-read speedchuck and found that:
1. In the end he did not believe OoaLH was bad so I don't think he was killed by a baddie team with OoaLH on it.
2. He said some negative things about Glorf which doesn't look great for Glorf but it's not enough for me to suspect him.
Has anyone else re-read speed? See anything that I didn't?

Re: Hogwarts Mafia - Day 2
Bullz, most of my assessment of your play comes from that game (I've forgotten it's name) where you infiltrated my BTSC with OA and convinced us both you were on our side. You even had a fake civ role card. It remains the most brilliant bit of mafia playing I have seen in all my years of mafiaing. Maybe that helps explain my compliment.Bullzeye wrote: ↑Thu Nov 01, 2018 2:50 pmI suck as a civ and take a long time to feel motivated, hence why I tend not to have much to say. Re: Hogwarts Mafia - Night 1
I see it differently so maybe my suspicion is a matter of play style. I feel like the first day scum can be found if we work hard at it and take a close look at the things that happen during the phase. So to me, you looked like you were not interested in digging for information at all and just wanted to coast through the day, something I attribute to the mafia faction. I see Day 0 as the day for goofing off and being jokey and frivolous. I'll consider what you've said though. Do you have any suspicions at this point?Bullzeye wrote: ↑Thu Nov 01, 2018 2:09 pmI don't feel that Day 1 has to be so serious, considering nine times out of ten nothing of any significance actually happens. I often vote for no-shows or low posters in the first lynch for that reason, it's not like this is a new thing I've never done before. It's been blown massively out of proportion for reasons I don't understand.juliets wrote: ↑Wed Oct 31, 2018 3:36 pmBullz, beyond your vote I found your posts in the Day phase to be jokey and talk more about Potter lore and video games than actual content while most of the rest of us were trying to assess people and come to some conclusions. As you look back over those posts do you see what I mean? If so could you speak to that issue?Bullzeye wrote: ↑Wed Oct 31, 2018 2:09 pm I didn't have time to read anything at all yesterday but remembered that the poll would end pretty early for me so wanted to make sure I had a vote. I just read through INH and I don't see any reason to call him a civ. There wasn't a lot there and he seems to be missing after saying he would try to be here more on day 2. Low performing INH in my experience = bad INH. I could see a vote there unless I'm missing some good reason not to.

Can you explain why you trust me in specific reference to my play in this game?
As for you, Jay - I get this overwhelming IDGAF tone from your posts that I don’t think I’d see were you Mafia. I think you’re more likely to be more low key and generally more agreeable in your posts if you were Mafia.
Glorf, can you explain what you mean by "analytical gymnastics" regarding Jack's logic for voting you? Are you seeing Jack as bad right now? If so, is it because of his case on you or are there other things you are wary of?

I was surprised to see this nutella as I don't remember you saying anything bad about me prior to this (I haven't ISO'd you so maybe I missed something). Can you tell me what you are seeing that makes you think I am bad?nutella wrote: ↑Fri Nov 02, 2018 11:03 am GTH babey

Re: Hogwarts Mafia - Day 2
So Luna, the reason I asked about Kyle is for me he falls into that category of not saying much - mostly just popping in to get opinions. So I just wondered why he wasn't one of the people you named?Lunalee wrote: ↑Fri Nov 02, 2018 3:35 pmKylemii impressed me with his scum game last time we were all scum together. I got lynched early on, but Kylemii survived until the end with hardley any suspicions. He mostly laid low, hopped in and looked good when he needed to, and sat back and won the game. Because of this I do not feel confident in giving Kyle a town read.
As far as I can tell, Lapluie isn't playing. She posted "hello, checking in" and hasn't been back since to post or vote. I'd rather she get a replacement than us resort to lynching an inactive.

What do you see about Nutella that makes you think she is scum. In this game, Nutella has changed mind reads in several consecutive posts.

I haven't put him in my civilian category yet mostly because he no u'd me and responded to my suspicion with what I felt was hostility. He also hasn't made much of a contribution.

Re: Hogwarts Mafia - Day 2
I have narrowed down my vote candidates for today and am going to vote for Soneji. I've read back through Jay's case on him a couple of times and buy his points. One thing that I disagree with is Jay agreeing with Soneji about LC being suspect for talking about mechanics. In the world LC and I come from asking mechanics in the thread was something that was done so everyone could see the answers, it was normal and we even had one person known for his abilities in that area. So I don't find LCs asking about mechanics a scum tell at all.
I could also see a vote for INH.

[VOTE: Soneji] aubergine
1. The fact that he tried to make your talking about mechanics a scum tell (Jay agree with Soneji on this)
2. He explained that he thought Owners Deathly Hallows/Dark Arts thing was a scum slip because he had scum slipped on minor things such as this which is a vague unverifiable way to promote a slip; and when bad guys promote false slip dialogue they usually feel the need to justify try to negate the controversy that surrounds scum slips (the basics of this point and the ones that follow are from Jays case)
3. He smears Qwner for talking about her suspicions so much but people were asking her about it all day - should she just not have responded?
4. He mischaracterizes one of Luna's post.
5. His reasons for voting Turnip Head are not that persuasive. He worms his way into a vote for TH who wanted his head without it seeming like a no-u.
I'm not sure about some of my wording there but I hope it is understandable.
lots of linki

Re: Hogwarts Mafia - Day 2
It was really that there were a series of things that spoke to him being bad, not just one or two things. Item 2 was the most interesting to me because I had never thought of it that way and also item 5 because it was so clever, hidden so well. Also, I did say from the beginning that your case is what convinced me and no, that does not mean if Soneji is good I will try to somehow lay that at your doorstep.JaggedJimmyJay wrote: ↑Fri Nov 02, 2018 5:13 pmWhich among these points is/are of the greatest interest to you?
