Re: Assassination Classroom [DAY 6]
Pennywise elicits naught but a shrug and an "I guess?" from me. I'd rather go against someone I think is actively acting scummy instead of a shot in the dark. He could be bad, sure, and it'd be damn easy for me to vote for him, but I'm willing to ignore him for this important vote.
I also worry that once, say two civilians vote for another civilian, all the baddies are just gonna pile onto them in order to end the game, so the deluge of Pennywise votes makes me a tad nervous.

Re: Assassination Classroom [DAY 6]
The two major candidates for me today are Marmot and Pennywise. I've previously had some misgivings about Marmot's recent behavior, namely his bipolar treatment of JJJ since Day 5, going from blindly following him like a lost puppy dog to blandly, ineptly calling for his lynch. It's just awfully damn aberrant, and I feel like people are dismissing it as lazy gameplay because Marmot gonna Marmot. Marmot, for his part, seems to be playing into this assertation, and talking up how little he cares about this game. I dunno, it just feels like a charade to me. Especially when I could see an on-the-cusp-of-winning Marmot throwing caution to the proverbial wind. I also still think LC is worth keeping some pressure on, as none of the reasons why I voted for him have really been resolved, but I'm gonna tie this sucker up by moving my vote over to Marmot-ville.

Yeahhhh, I'm gonna follow my gut with this one. Because why not.
You're a lazy scum member who is either partnered with JJJ, or buddying with him against Nova in order to end the game quickly.
Might as well throw a vote on you and see what happens.

Re: Assassination Classroom [NIGHT 5]

Out of the things I've seen post Night 4? Probably Marmot and LC. LC basically shouted down Wolbre when he brought up JJJ as a possible baddie. Marmot, despite according to JJJ "never trusting him," voted with him blindly during Day 5.
I realize that's super obvious buddying stuff, but I'd guess that the mafia team has realized their numbers and are unafraid to blatantly throw around weight to protect their own at this point. Especially when Day 6 is potentially LYLO.

Re: Assassination Classroom [NIGHT 5]
This is subjective nonsense, but the biggest thing that makes me nervous about you is that I think you're smart enough to realize that putting on a demoralized face and acting like all hope is lost is the best way for an evil JJJ to ensure his victory.JaggedJimmyJay wrote: ↑Sun May 13, 2018 7:59 pmI have a phone-it-in attitude right now, which is being being called evidence of my being evil, and that makes no sense if I am on the verge of a perfect victory -- or at least considerably less sense than I am demoralized after playing like shit.MacDougall wrote: ↑Sun May 13, 2018 7:55 pmI don't get what you are trying to say here?JaggedJimmyJay wrote: ↑Sun May 13, 2018 6:42 pm Yes, after dominating the civilians to a perfect record through five day phases with the finish line so close, only *now* do I become demoralized.
Y’all make no sense.
Love it or hate it, but civilians often look to you and your notorious pedigree for guidance, and you collapsing on the floor instead of still seeking out new leads and baddies would be a great way to get them to not care enough to try to win the game.
Whereas my perception of a good JJJ would, as Kyle was saying, be going down swinging. Or at least trying more shit than you're trying now.
I'm not entirely sure if this is a pep talk or a possible-vote-justification, but it's what I feel after just viewing you from Night 4 on.

There's no reason to trust me at all beyond vague shit like "tone", and I wouldn't figure anyone would care about that in my case specifically under these conditions.
So the people who are giving me a pass are hard to take seriously. Long Con, DDL, and Mac have not wavered in their trust of me despite my continued pants-on-head failure in this game. I'd figure on two evil-doers in that group at this point.

Maybe we're just giving you credit by thinking that a "fake-demoralized" baddie mastermind JJJ is more likely than a perpetually incorrect and depressed JJJ.JaggedJimmyJay wrote: ↑Sun May 13, 2018 7:48 pmLet me try this again.Kylemii wrote: ↑Sun May 13, 2018 7:20 pmquestion 2: wouldn't being suspected and put on the irons after a near sweep also cause a feeling of demoralization in your heartJaggedJimmyJay wrote: ↑Sun May 13, 2018 7:04 pmTrust me. If I was a mafioso my pants would be secure. I would be in total unfailing control of this game and going hard for the perfect finish.
My pants are down because I’m a civilian.
No, I would not feel demoralized. If I am mafia-aligned right now, getting lynched means basically nothing -- the civilians are screwed anyway. This isn't just a generic LyLo we're headed for. The unlynchable mafia boss worsens this dynamic from "really really hard" to "infinitesimally likely to happen". Lynching all four bad guys consecutively is a lot to ask, but lynching them in proper order adds a layer of implausibility so great that I would really estimate the chance of a civilian victory right now to be south of 1%.
If I were bad and got lynched, it might move to 2%.
I am demoralized because I am a Proud Man and I am getting my ass handed to me. I just hope it's people who are actually playing the game accomplishing that feat and not people who didn't even participate.

I'm a little bit confused. This is the most flummoxed I've seen JJJ in a while, and while he seems genuine to me, it's hard not to be a little nervous about the guy when he's not in clear SUPATOWN mode. Once again, I don't have the context for most of the game, this is just my impression of the last couple phases.novaselinenever wrote: ↑Sat May 12, 2018 6:21 pmWhat do you make of that? I don't know anything about Pennywise, and I wasn't able to glean anything from his ISO. Dom's a known quality, and to be honest, I expect more from him in regards to participation than I've seen in this game. Plus, there was what you were talking about earlier, with him being shown as online and lurking in the thread without posting.juliets wrote: ↑Sat May 12, 2018 6:13 pmI'm not opposed to that, I just need to decide between the two if thats what we all want to do.insertnamehere wrote: ↑Sat May 12, 2018 6:11 pm TBH I’d rather we all lynch the two people who haven’t shown up, Dom and Pennywise, over the two who have, at least recently, tried to actively join the conversation, Nova and I.

With that being said, the case that makes the most sense to me with my uber-limited knowledge of what the fuck has happened in this game is the one against Dom. Dude's been AWOL, he isn't usually AWOL, and he lacks any kind of reasonable excuse for being AWOL. Plus there's the shenanigans that Juliets was talking about, where he might be lurking in the thread.

He's the absentee I think is most suspicious given his play on Day 0/1, and his recent return raises concerns as well. He was clearly aware of Scotty's desire to lynch me, which gives him a motive to kill Scotty (or to recommend that kill). He also defended me despite likely not being caught up, or even close, with the thread to this point. His level of awareness exceeds his posture in the game.
...wasn't intended to be a "defense" of you, but a legitimate inquiry to see if there was more to his suspicion. I have little to no context for these recent posts, and when Scotty came out against you, I was trying to discern if there were some events behind it that I wasn't aware of. Right now, my strategy is to just go with the case that makes the most sense to me.insertnamehere wrote: ↑Fri May 11, 2018 4:19 pmWhy is JJJ bad? I've been forced to choose between the most time-intensive part of the most time-intensive forum game I've ever hosted, and this game. I signed up early, and didn't think that the schedule of Quin's game and my game would match up. Unfortunately, they did, and a bunch of RL shit got heaped on top of me, all of which was unexpected. I only had/have a limited amount of forum time, and I could either spend it on my game or Quin's game. I'm sorry, but I spent it on my game.
I fully understand that my contribution to the civilians has been null, and I wouldn't object too loudly if people wanted to get rid of me because of it. But hey, I'm here now, and if anyone wants me to read some cases/opinions/bickering sessions, I'll certainly check it out.

Re: Assassination Classroom [DAY 0]
Unfortunately, no, but I'd like to go the Twin Peaks festival held in Snoqualmie at some point: https://www.twinpeaksfest.com/Dyslexicon wrote: ↑Wed May 02, 2018 4:47 pmOmg. You are a fan. Have you been to where they filmed the first two series? One of my best friends (quite randomly) live close by, so I was able to visit all the Twin Peaks sites two years ago. It really has a claustrophobic feel to it.insertnamehere wrote: ↑Wed May 02, 2018 4:45 pm
I might have rewatched it one too many times. I'm now watching the, like, 5 hours of BTS stuff on the blu-ray for the second time.
PM me when that game starts and I'll gladly join.
And will do!

Dyslexicon wrote: ↑Wed May 02, 2018 4:41 pmI couldn't agree more! I adored it too! Even the parts of it that was like "I definitely wouldn't have done it that way myself", I absolutely loved, because it was so refreshing to see a series being made because that's how THEY wanted to make it, and not just trying to please the audience and make it digestable. It also made me go "what the fuck is even... whaaaaaat!?" so many times, and it takes a bit to make me react that way. It felt like a long movie, and there were so many good moments, and it felt new, but also still Twin Peaks-y. It was also darker than I expected. I liked everything from Diane's nail polish to the 50s horror movie appearance to the very last scream of Laura Palmer. I haven't had the chance to rewatch it, but I'm definitely planning to.insertnamehere wrote: ↑Wed May 02, 2018 4:19 pmI absolutely adored it, even though it seemed to actively try to repel its viewers at certain points, and could have been about 3 hours shorter. I've still thought about it and rewatched it more than any other piece of media since it came out. It's just a fascinating wormhole of an 18-hour long David Lynch mindfuck that simultaneously provides "fanservice," critiques and deconstructs the very idea of "fanservice," and features a ton of original Lynchian sequences that are like nothing else I've ever seen. (PART 8 <3) I can literally talk about it forever.
Where were you when the Fire Walk With Me game was going on? That was a slice of Twin Peaks craziness that I'm pretty proud of putting together.
At some point this fall or winter, my Wild At Heart mafia game is gonna go into sign-ups, which will also be a nice kick of Lynch. And, at some point, maybe not for a year or so, I'm definitely going to host a game based on Season 3. Mulholland Drive Mafia will probably happen first, tho.
I saw that game, but unfortunately I couldn't participate. At times my life is pretty unorganized and unpredictable. I recently had to postpone running my own Twin Peaks the Return game on Personality Cafe because I didn't have the time. You are welcome to join if you want, when I finally get to run it, just PM me about it. I'll definitely be on the lookout for your games as well.

The actress, Catherine Coulson (RIP) kept and preserved it.
For those of you who don't know me, I will take literally any excuse to talk about the critically acclaimed, highly influential television show Twin Peaks. I am utterly shameless when it comes to this.

Re: Assassination Classroom [DAY 0]
It's an avant-garde supernatural-murder-mystery clusterfuck of magnificence that shouldn't exist but somehow does. It's the most legitimately bizarre television show ever, IMO, and manages to be at times both traumatizingly scary and downright hilarious. If you know anything about David Lynch (Eraserhead, Mulholland Drive, Elephant Man) you may understand what I mean when I say it's utterly unclassifiable.Scotty wrote: ↑Tue May 01, 2018 7:53 pmNever seen it, but my parents are obsessed.insertnamehere wrote: ↑Tue May 01, 2018 7:52 pmNothing's more important than the log. That’s probably why I haven’t seen it.
Is it in the same realm of MASH? They also loved that one and I just don’t get around to seeing it
So, yeah, not really in the same dimension as MASH.
