Day 6

The empire had lost their best fighter, but they still had a lot of technology in their arsenal. Boris coordinated the troops and the resources, while Klaus watched from the command room.

Captain Vole entered it, while holding a skinny, bearded man by his neck.

- What is this, Captain? - The Baron asked.
- This man here knows everything about the city! He is the Head Minion. Even the castle's sparks defer to him. I think we can learn a lot from him.

Moloch, who had never done a brave thing in his life, realized this was a once in a lifetime opportunity. He bit Vole's hand, then ran into the Baron, grabbing a mini-death ray he had hidden in his vest.

But before he could get in range of the Baron, he was eletrucuted by a defense system in the middle of the room. Boris had just activated it with one of his four arms. The empire was prepared for everything.

Meanwhile, a hero appears again, having survived an impossible situation.

Day 5

In Mechanicsburg, a terrible war was going on. But what is war for some, is just another opportunity to fight evil, for those who choose to take this path. Like our hero:


In his quest to rid the world of the evils of the Spark, Othar Tryggvassen marched into Mechanicsburg and picked a fight with the first scientific invention he could see! Not like it was too hard to find one, because this is Mechanicsburg.

But as Othar Trryvassen battled with a giant robot from the empire, he found out the robot could fly! So it carried him into Castle Wulfenbach, high into the sky.

In there, Othar decided to go after the Baron, who is also a spark, and defeat him once and for all. But the Baron, having captured (and failed to kill) Othar Trygvassen multiple times, was prepared. He had Othar Trygvassenfall into a trapdoor, which dropped him from the sky, a fall no human could possibly survive from!

- Mistress, we have an intruder - The Castle said, with its omnipresent voice.
- Of course we do, there is a whole empire trying to invade us!
- Yes, but this one has breached the inner chambers. It's approaching my energy room. They managed to evade all my traps. If we don't do anything, they will -
- On my way! -Agatha interrupted it.

She ran into the castle and into the inner chambers. But she wasn't fast enough. By the time she got into the energy room, no one was there.

- Castle, what happened? Castle? CASTLE?

Somebody had destroyed the energy systems and shut the whole thing down. It would take weeks to fix it. Agatha's biggest ally (literally) was no more.

The long and the short of my opinion is "scum players should have to approve replacements consisting of any players they had any hand in eliminating."

Like if I'm scum and I eliminate a player because they are a scary townie or because they suspect me, the host should not then put them right back in the game.

But if the sker kills that same scary player, wolf Jack shouldn't have a say in them coming back or not.

Also, I just find the "no lynching replacements" thing fascinating and haven't played out the game theory of what that would mean for a game. I think that shouldn't happen at lylo and there are some problematic things like a red peeked wolf vigilante replacing out and now the town can't lynch them and the wolves get an extra kill via replacement. Overall, I do think giving replacements a free day is certainly a nice thing to do for replacements. Like replacing in and getting lynched for scummy things the old player did sucks and that's one reason players don't like to sign up as replacements. Another is having to act without catching up and this gives the players a guaranteed amount of time to catch up and then make an impact.

So it's probably a net positive except in some corner cases.

If it helps, the game's rules say no replacements of any kind will happen after Night 4.

I hate LyLo replacements even more than I hate modkills.

So, this person can superkill every night?

It's not an extra kill, it's a boost to the mafia's NK. If Bang performs it, the kill cannot be stopped by doctors and bulletproofs, assuming Bang does not use her own doctor ability that night.

And yes, it can be done every night.

With Zola and Lucrezia dead, everyone rejoiced, but there was still the matter of Baron Wuilfenbach's invasion. Nobody could find Gil, and he didn't seem like he was up for negotiation.

Franz Scorchmaw, the family dragon, decided to go out and take down some blimps.

But that was when Castle Wulfenbach arrived.



Even a dragon was no match to this baby. A fraction of the castle's artillary was enough to take him down.

Meanwhile, the jägger army took countless casualities while trying to defend the city.

Day 3

It's late and I'm still busy so I'm doing a format-less post. I'll improve it later.

Zola Malfeazium (Lunalee) was lynched.

Night 3 Begins

Agatha was trying to contact Gil in the empire. But Gil was not with the empire.

Knowing his son would be an obstacle in his attempt to conquer Mechanicsburg, the Baron sent his son on a mission far-away. He was to watch the activity of other kingdoms who might take a chance to rebel. After all, the last time there was a battle with the Heterodynes, they certainly took the chance.

During those travels, Gil met his old friend, Ardley Wooster, who used to be undercover as his butler while spying on him for England. But this was past now. They were good friends. And so, they decided to work together.

One night, they went to a party in order to spy the nobles of the local castle.

But travelling so far away from their land was not a good idea. Hearing the Baron's son was alone, the nobles set up an ambush for him. In the middle of the party, the lights went out, and a whole squad of smoke knights appeared and attacked Gil and Wooster. Even with their talent and intelligence, the two stood no chance.

Agatha entered the lab and found Tarvek running around, while messing with some huge contraption. By the looks of it, it was either a time machine, a teleportation device, or some complicated type of coffee machine.

- Oh hey, Agatha. You came in the right time. I think I've pinpointed where in the timeline your mother last went to.

Time machine, then.

- My mother? - Agatha inquired.
- Yeah. Remember back in London when he learned the Queen met someone who looked like her thousands of years ago? Turns out it was her, and she is using some kind of time travel device. So, based on some data the Queen gave us, I've figured a way to find her and make her appear here. I just need to pull this lever and...

As soon as Tarvek pulled the lever, a blast of light appeared in the machine, following by a horrible scream. Next thing they saw was a woman lying on the floor, with some kind of cyborg body. She didn't look alive.

- Oh, she's dead. I hope you're not mad, Agatha. - Tarvek lamented.
- Nope. The hag had it coming.

I did that yesterday?

Violetta found the spy.

But she was good. She wasn't a trained smoke knight like Violetta, but she had skills. She had been trained by the empire and was one of their best. So Violetta was only able to see her for a short moment before she vanished again.

The hunt began. One girl chased each other in the city for hours, one trying to hide again so she could spy for another day, and other trying to capture the first one.

Unbeknownst to them, each one was falling into a trap. A trap by their respective allies, or someone else? Before they managed to meet one another, they ran into enemies they could not face in a direct fight. After all, they were both stealthy warriors, not used to fighting in the sunlight.

A bunch of jäggers were brawling in the middle of the street.

- Why are the jäggers fighting? - Violetta pondered.
- They are jäggers. They always do that. - Moloch explained in his usual monotone tone.
- I know but... something feels off about this.
- I think I'm going to check. - Zeetha said, then jumped into the brawl. Probably just an excuse to join them.

But before she got there, the jäggers stopped. They moved away from each other in a circle, leaving only a few bodies in the middle.

He was one of the smartest jäggers, after having spent years in the wild looking for his mistress. A valuable asset to the pack, and a strong candidate to be a general one day. Not anymore. Someone had joined the fight with a poisoned blade, killing him and a few others.

Who would want poor Dimo dead? Was that a calculated move, or just an accident? Either way, it could be a huge blow to the pack's morale.

Day 0

- Alright, what is going on? - Agatha asked.
- The Empire has surrounded the city with his blimps. They have tried to shoot us, but our defenses have managed to block it. They haven't deployed any troops yet. It doesn't seem like they are using most of their arsenal. - Violetta reported.
- They are plotting something. - Krosp said.
- The jaggers are patrollink de borders bot ve can't do moch againsht those blimps. Though ve almosht managed to throw a house on vun a few minotes ago. - General Zog said.
- Okay, why are only minions here? Where are my sparks? Where are Doctor Mittelmind and Professor Mezzalsama? And where is Tarvek? - Agatha yelled.
- Tarvek said he had a plan and vanished. As for the doctors... we just found them dead in their labs. - Violetta reported.
- WHAT?
- It seems we have spies here. The empire is probably distracting us so they can murder us from the inside. - Krosp concluded.
- Well then, we have to find those spies! - Agatha ordered. - Meanwhile, I'm going to see if I can contact Gil. Maybe he can smack some sense into his father's head.

And so, the hunt begins.

Mechanicsburg, a mostly peaceful town in the middle of Europa. During what is probably the 19th Century, but we are not sure because this is a steampunk story. Lady Heterodyne is in her castle, working on her latest giant robot, when a loud, cryptic voice talks to her.

- Mistress, we have a visitor.
- Is it anyone I know? - Agatha asks.
- Not really. Shall I throw them into the mutant shark pool?
- We have mutant sharks?
- Of course! Your ancestor, Dagon Heterodyne, made them. He used to love experimenting with all sorts of murderous creat-
- No, Castle, we are not throwing anyone to the mutant sharks. Let them in.
- Boring. But as you command, mistress.

The visitor comes in. It is a young man from the city, and Agatha had seen him before. The Castle probably knew him too, that sneaky bastard.

- Lady Heterodyne! The empire is attacking the city!
- What?
- The have surrounded us with their blimps! I've heard even Castle Wulfenbach is on its way here.

This was a problem. The city had a lot of defenses, but Baron Wulfenbach was a very dangerous enemy. Why was he choosing to attack now? Agatha dropped what she was doing and went to the city. She had to gather her minions.

Baron Klaus Wulfenbach

The ruler of Europa, and a powerful spark who ensures the continent lives in peace and order. Or else.

He is convinced Agatha Heterodyne is The Other, and will do whatever it takes to contain that threat.

[Pax Transylvania]: The Baron has a good reputation as a keeper of peace. He appears as civilian on investigations.

[Construct Body]: The Baron has an abnormal body. He survives the first regular kill that hits him.

[Castle Wulfenbach]: A giant military blimp that is more like a city, and can attack a player in the day to make them lose all their vote power.

[Wasp Eater]: The Baron has commissioned the research of genetically modified weasels that can smell the scent of people infected by wasps. Once per night, he can have a wasp eater investigate a player and learn if they have been infected.

Setup:

Game Mechanic: The Madness Place

In this world, there are individuals who are called “sparks”. They possess amazing intelligence and creativity, and can make the most incredible inventions. However, they have a tendency to go mad. Every spark role has a Madness Meter. Every time they use at least one ability or action during a cycle, the Madness Meter will go by 1 at the end of the night. If they don’t use any abilities, it will go down by 2.

Every day phase, the player will receive a number of votes equal to their current Madness level.

Winning Condition: eliminate the Wulfenbach Empire, The Other, Martellus and Zola.

Sparks

Against all odds, some sparks have decided to work together. Whether that is good idea or not remains to be seen.



Agatha Heterodyne

The heir to the nefarious Heterodyne clan, the maddest geniuses of Europa, she just wants to be left alone to do some science in her castle. Unfortunately, everyone in the continent wants to either control, or eliminate her.

[Dingbots]: Agatha’s first invention, little robots that also have the spark. She can make one per night, and have them use their ability immediately or save it for later. Each robot will be able to use one ability before being destroyed. She must make all types of robots once before making them again. Agatha can use up to three robots per night.
Agatha may use up to three robots per night.

- Flying Robot: this robot will track a player and learn who they targeted in the night.
- Bomb Robot: this robot will explode on a player and roleblock them for a cycle.
- Fighter Robot: this robot will protect a player from one regular kill with its life.

[Heterodyning]: Agatha’s family has developed a special type of humming that helps them concentrate. After activating this ability in the night, she won’t receive any votes due to the Madness Meter in the next day. Two-shot.

Rules

- This game is dividided in day phases and night phases. Day phases are when you post and make votes. The poll will lock exactly 48 hours after it is posted, and afterwards I will come here as early as possible to make the end of day post. Some abilities can be used in the day, but unless stated otherwise, all abilities are night-only.

- Night phases are when you are allowed to send actions, if you have any. Actions will be accepted 23 hours after the end of day write-up is posted. The final hour will be used by me to process actions, and to correct previous delays in day/night starts. Night posting will not be allowed, as the thread will be locked during the night.

- Voting is done through the poll. I do not require players to announce their votes in the thread or use fancy tags, though it is usually considered common etiquette to do so.

- Self-voting and changing votes is allowed. In case of ties, the lynch result will be resolved at random.

- You must post at least once per day phase. Failure to do so will be considered inactivity. If you are inactive for one day, you will be modblocked, which means your role will not be allowed to use any abilities during the night. If you are inactive in two different days, I may replace or modkill you. No replacements will happen after Night 4. if you are going to be unable to be online for a short period, please tell me in advance so I may give you some leeway.

- Double targetting is allowed.

- Role revealing and all forms of info dumping are banned.

- Do not engage in angle-shooting, which means using information from outside of the game to obtain advantage in it. That includes, but is not limited to, making bets or oaths in real life, asking people the color of their role card, or posting screenshots to prove anything. I will modkill players who break this rule.

- All players who die in the day or in the night will have their alignment and abilities revealed.

- The factions of this game are Mechanicsburg (Civilians), Wulfenbach Empire (Mafia), The Other (Cult), and the 3 Independents.

- Civilian, Mafia and Cult players will win with their teams, whether they are alive or dead.

- Talking with people about the game in any places other than this thread, or BTSC channels authorized by me, are not allowed.

- On game mechanics: super-kills are kills that bypass doctor protections and passive defenses, but they can be roleblocked. Other kills may be immune to roleblocks. Also for the purposes of this game, positive abilities are anything you'd want to be target with, such as a protection, and negative abilities is anything you wouldn't, such as a roleblock. Information-gathering abilities are neither Positive nor Negative.

- Dead players must post in red. Non-players must post in blue. Off-topic posts should be in green. I will use this color, please do not use it.
