Also at a certain point in this game my only objective was to sneak terrible puns into as many of my posts as I could.

Re: Shockheaded Peter Mafia [Night 2]
None of that addressed a single point that I made in my series of posts which were meant as conversation stimulators, not as indictments of anybody in particular.
Additionally, your previous post dismissed the seriousness of your initial reads list, but you are now defending yourself with it.
Additionally additionally, you’ve done no work to catch the last bad guy. You’ve just said that everything I’ve posted is bad. What if you are wrong about that?
At reywas

Re: Shockheaded Peter Mafia [Night 2]
And then there's the matter of luna & speedchuck's interactions with each of those two in unison: they both treated reywas similarly, but took opposing approaches to sabie: luna defended her hard, speedchuck argued for her as a suspect.
Do we think this scum team took a coordinated approach of keeping each other at arm's length? Or do we think they threw a variety of interactions at us to keep us off the scent?

Re: Shockheaded Peter Mafia [Day 0]
For my own sake, I'm taking a look at luna's interactions with sabie and reywas next. I've not definitively knocked my POE down to these two, but they seem like the strongest candidates to me at the moment:
There's very little here, but everything is unflinchingly supportive of sabie. My immediate reaction is to call this a good look for sabie. I don't know if luna would go so far out of her way to support a teammate when there was no need to. By contrast, she was a bit wishy-washy on speedchuck, at times supporting him softly, at other times throwing vague shade, and still other times giving him a big shrug. Speedchuck is the player luna is always going to be most strongly tied to in games, but she had relatively little to say about him until they were both on the chopping block. sabie was one of luna's primary targets for support all day.
Switching to reywas:
She makes no direct mention of reywas until she puts a "Bad" GTH read on him mid-day... she makes no further comment on him.
If we're going for consistency between her treatment of teammates, reywas looks worse. She had relatively little to say about speedchuck considering his stature in this game and their relationship outside of it. Similarly, she had practically zilch to say about reywas.
If we think luna mixed it up a bit, then sabie looks worse. I also think speedchuck's treatment of sabie (highly substantiated scum read on Day 1 which was never followed up on) is a meatier piece of evidence than anything here. But if I'm looking only at luna's interactions with these two, I'd say that reywas looks worse than sabie.
Comes to sabie's aid on Day 1. This reads like the type of thing that would have been better said in BTSC.Lunalee wrote: ↑Mon Feb 18, 2019 11:38 amNevermind Jay and Nova. She scum reads nova based on his treatment of sabie AND town reads sabie based on an apparent consistency with her previous town games, but doesn't go into much detail about that read. It could be a fairly bold strategy to offer such strong support to a teammate unprompted on Day 1. Two people you trust and two people you don't trust: go.
novaselinever, mostly for his "got one" response to sabie's post, and him playing Jay's overly-excited puppy dog on day 0.

Trust:

sabie. From my (limited) experience with sabie, this looks like prime town-sabie content.
And that.

Re: Shockheaded Peter Mafia [Day 0]
This is the post that really solidifed nova as a town read for me. Luna still had a fighting change of surviving the Day 1 lynch, and she seemed intent on specifically smearing nova. Her and speedchuck both seemed to be throwing shade at him throughout Day 1. I don't think this point matters much since it seems no one suspects nova at all, but... there's my reasoning, I guess, if we ever want to go back and look at things.Lunalee wrote: ↑Wed Feb 20, 2019 6:17 pmI believe nova began the shift, and it looks like he has "friends" on board with it.JaggedJimmyJay wrote: ↑Wed Feb 20, 2019 6:12 pm *scribbles notes in classroom notebook about immediacy of wagon shift*

Aw heck @Sloonei

I've been on a few games here, only one in which I was really active though (Attack on Titan heist). My playstyle tends to be pushing players during D1, then analyzing the reactions and lynch wagons in the later phases. There's also a wholly empty poke of me in speedchuck's post. I'm not sure why it exists other than to say hi & heck, I guess.
cbob asks him to explain the Day 1 town read on Jay, which he does. Okay.
Badchuck's first conflict is with nutella. I think I like this, but it's not strong enough yet to say for sure that it indicates separate alignments.speedchuck wrote: ↑Mon Feb 18, 2019 12:15 pmYep.
Filler post. And you said REY was trying too hard? Bugger off with that.
We return to leetic for a moment. The only reason this post would exist if they're partners would be to put on a display of unfamiliarity in the thread. I don't think scum leetic and speedchuck feel it would be necessary to do that. I think speedchuck wanted to get his footing early in the game by drawing an introduction out of the newcomer. I'd put a townie point in leetic's basket.speedchuck wrote: ↑Mon Feb 18, 2019 12:16 pmWelcome back. nutella's harsh response to speedchuck does not look staged, and speedchuck's follow up to that looks like a bona fide attempt at shade. None of these reads are preceded by anything substantial. I believe he was compelled to explain all of them later, so I'll hold off on commenting until I get to that point.speedchuck wrote: ↑Tue Feb 19, 2019 10:25 am Leaving JJJ off my list because that's just boring.
Townreads: Sloonei, Elohcin
Scumreads: Nova, JoH
Apparent confusion at reywas' 4-player list. I don't think this tells me anything about their relationship, other than that they both apparently suspected Jack at this point.
Explanation of the aforementioned reads here:
He starts by lathering me up in butter. It would be cool if others could comment on that. His town read on elohcin is more vague and seems to have been based on her tone in a few early posts. He does not touch his two scum reads (Jack & nova) at this time.speedchuck wrote: ↑Tue Feb 19, 2019 10:38 amBeen townreading Sloonei since "Whacke". He's been great under some amount of pressure early on. That townread solidified when he defended Sabie, referencing the delicious MYLO from last game. I KNOW that's genuine. I was there. He hasn't been sucking up to the powers that be, hasn't been "trying too hard" (in nutella's words) to seem consistent or give thoughts on everyone. He just steps in where he sees a need and keeps his D0/D1 chill. I like it.JaggedJimmyJay wrote: ↑Tue Feb 19, 2019 10:29 amI’d like to hear more about all of those.speedchuck wrote: ↑Tue Feb 19, 2019 10:25 am Leaving JJJ off my list because that's just boring.
Townreads: Sloonei, Elohcin
Scumreads: Nova, JoH
Elohcin hasn't done too much. She came in, made a catch-up post, and then left. But most of it reeked of sincerity, to me. It's partly a vibe I'm getting, but I'll try to explain it. When she was making the catch up post, she commented and gave her take on 4-5 things. Some of it had been said before, some of it she took a small step further. It didn't seem like she was trying to fake any thoughts, nor like she was straining for original content.
I guess both of these just seem too chill under the 'Jay Spray' for me to think them scum.
His treatment of Eloh here does not give me any strong leanings one way or the other on her.
Continued confusion toward reywas here. There's still not much to be made of this, but I will note that the tone is pretty casual and not very substantive. I tend to be skeptical of those types of exchanges when one of the participants is confirmed scum. I don't know how often it turns out to be a teammate interaction though.
If Jack is bad, he and speedchuck went for the hard distancing tactic early, but not immediately. I could see it. I don't think it's the case though.speedchuck wrote: ↑Tue Feb 19, 2019 10:44 amI buy that JJJ scumreads me because his standards for townchuck are apparently ridiculous.Jackofhearts2005 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 18, 2019 8:39 pm Scumread - Speed for buddying Jay and the bleh push on Nutella.
I buy that nutella suspects me because she does that.
I don't buy that Jack actually thinks I've buddied Jay. Fake reason. Bleg.
Nova however is buddying the everlovin' hecking bejeezus out of JJJ.
I also give a townie point to nova here. This looks like speedchuck is trying to get the ball rolling. Counterargument would be that nova was safe from harm on Day 1, so it could be a good opportunity for casual distancing. Again, I don't think that's the case. But I'll keep it in mind.
Speedchuck follows up on this read here. This looks even less like "casual distancing" now.
Yeah nova's town. I should also note that I remember a specific instance during the end of Day 1 when luna said or did something which made me feel extremely confident that nova was town. I forget what it was, but it was one of the most distinct reads I formed that day. I'll look into it once I'm done with this post.speedchuck wrote: ↑Tue Feb 19, 2019 12:00 pmLet's ignore the games where he doesn't show up.
About half the time, Nova is very reactive. Every post he makes matters, but he doesn't make a ton of them, especially early.
The other half of the time, Nova is very involved, but not quite a top poster. He's never the type to ride anyone else's coattails, and I've never seen him push for the thread to be more active.
This is all going off my memory, though, because I'm lazy.
Compiling all of speedchuck's GTH reads in one place:
Noteworthy in here is that his read on elohcin had changed from his initial stance. I believe this is his first mention of sabie anywhere, and he slaps a "bad" read on her. He shrugs at audrey. He also made this post in the middle of the GTH exercise:leetic: Good
reywas: Good
Sloonei: Good
Elohcin: Bad
Jay: Good
Luna: Good
Jack: Bad
nutella: Good
sabie: Bad
nova: Bad
colonialbob: Good
Audrey: "PROBABLY KINDA NICE IDK BAD"
Something about my exchange with reywas prompted him to pretend to see me as bad. If I was more engaged, I would have followed up on this. It also gets me thinking about his relationship with reywas again. This post is sandwiched by the following exchange:speedchuck wrote: ↑Tue Feb 19, 2019 3:45 pmMy estimation of Sloondawg's alignment is currently going south for the winter.reywaS wrote: ↑Tue Feb 19, 2019 3:44 pmits the opening lynch and i have adhd. My initial reaction was that rey's forgetfulness of speedchuck could be indicative of them not being teammates, but on closer inspection that's not really what's going on here. It's more the case that speedchuck was messing with reywas a little, and the tone of this exchange again comes off as light banter.speedchuck wrote: ↑Tue Feb 19, 2019 3:47 pmWe played Socky earlier this month. No, we don't have a long history.

First, this is another good look for nova.speedchuck wrote: ↑Tue Feb 19, 2019 4:02 pm90% of Sabie's posts are her complaining about silly accusations, making her own, then walking them back. Specifically regarding Nova and JJJ.
The other one is "where sloonei at he mus be busy"
I'm used to her first post in the game being lost, but still full of basic reads and stuff. She's posted more D1 than I'm used to, but somehow less.
I got that just now after looking back. It's not that strong, but hey, GTH.
Second, I could see this as speedchuck bussing sabie. He's made no mention of her prior, and I don't recall him making any sort of push against her afterwards. If that is indeed the case, then this is a lone accusation which actually appears to have some meat on it, but which was never followed up on at all. I am wary of pushing too hard against sabie after having just lost our last game played by doing exactly that when she was town, but I can't really be successful if I ignore evidence that is in front of me.
Ah. Speedchuck apparently forgot about his initial town read on Elohcin. I remember this, and looking back at it I think this is a good look for Eloh. A mafia member does not simply forget their behavior toward a teammate on Day 1. This seems way too nuanced to be a (very minor) Day 1 ploy.speedchuck wrote: ↑Tue Feb 19, 2019 4:49 pmAbsence makes the heart forget why we ever loved in the first placeJaggedJimmyJay wrote: ↑Tue Feb 19, 2019 4:13 pm speedchuck, I'd be interested to hear about your present feelings on Elohcin, regardless of the GTH read.

Yes, tell us more, sloonei. I'm all eyes....or ears if you decide to use vocarooooni
I have you in the "don't wanna lynch at the moment" end of the spectrum.
Another good look for eloh
Speedchuck is passively on board to vote either Jack or leetic Day 1. I believe he was also on board with lynching luna, to be fair. Self-preservation was his primary motive here. I read the "maybe" as speedchuck walking back his eagerness so as to not appear too reckless with his vote. He needs to appear to be giving thought to things while also trying to survive. I don't know if this tells me much about either jack or leetic, but I've come to read each of them as town elsewhere in this exercise.
reywas and speedchuck have had a bunch of small casual interactions throughout the game. I've pointed all of them out. What do people make of these?speedchuck wrote: ↑Thu Feb 21, 2019 11:13 amI'm too stingy to bet, but yeah, going with this pick. Reywas is a good dude.![]()
This looks like a list of reads descending from TOWN to SCUM. sabie and I are at the bottom, reywas is near the middle but on the favorable side. Noted. He explains his reywas read in the vaguest terms possible in his next post. Noted.speedchuck wrote: ↑Thu Feb 21, 2019 11:17 am speedchuck

Speedchuck's activity fizzled as the day ended. His last three posts were a declaration of his townread on reywas (the competing wagon) and a resigned "vote for him anyway" then some puppy dog eyes when reywas also voted for him with an apology. There is a part of me that thinks the whole exchange is too playful for them to be partners. Each of them are going out of their way to stress that they don't want to vote for the other. I don't know if I've ever seen a scenario like that. I think it merits wider scrutiny. I'll post this now and reflect on it some more.
Setting that final exchange aside, I'd say reywas and sabie have the most evidence in support of a partnership. nova and eloh have the most working in their favor. nutella, audrey, jack, and leetic also had specific points in their favor. Obviously I ignored most of speedchuck's interactions with me. If someone else wants to look at those, that'd be cool.

There were 3 people on Speed's wagon that seemingly wanted him dead: Jack, Nutella, Leet.
and two who didn't care: Sabie, Sloonei
Votes yesterday other than Nutella and Leet's earn no civ cred.

Re: Shockheaded Peter Mafia [Night 2]
leetic’s tone in our conversations last night struck me as somebody who is confident he’s caught the last bad guy. I find it unlikely that he is bad.
I do not agree with the criteria he used to eliminate reywas from his POE, but I’m also trying to to default onto reywas as my top suspect going into tomorrow. I hope to do some interactive reads at some point later.

I like my vote on reywas.leetic wrote: ↑Sat Feb 23, 2019 5:58 pmI'm not entirely sure I like this way of thinking. Last game I played in, I didn't vote someone on D1 because I liked the way the votes were going. I wasn't there at EOD, and it resulted in a no lynch, which was the first major mistake leading to an eventual scum victory. If you have someone you want to vote, you should vote them or you might regret it later as I did.

Re: Shockheaded Peter Mafia [Day 2]
[mention]leetic[/mention]’s ISO of me looks very good and I think it reflects an honest attempt to figure me out. I’ve not been easy this game. But I do want to correct a single issue: in my initial interaction with reywas, he had me as a town read in his GTH read. I was uncertain of this initially because of the ambiguity in his wording, but my posture in the ensuing conversation was not a defensive one. I was the aggressor there, trying to make reywas explain why he had a town read on a particular player. That player happened to be me.
I’m still in my phone and still don’t feel like digging up quotes.

When I called him tepid earlier, it was because he was repeatedly saying things that implied suspicion of me, but wasn’t going so far as to actually say he was suspicious.
The reywas stuff is a bad look because it doesn’t look like an active civilian mindset. His questions for Jay felt forced and aimless. His lack of participation afterwards felt... lacking.
