so when does your semester end?

Return to “Steely Dan Mafia [ENDGAME]”

No, we were all kind of upset how you took it into your hands and handled it instead of Epi though. I thought that was kinda rude to Epi. I also didn't like the whole leetic accidental mafia flip incident. Another instance where Epignosis was tagged in the game rather than alerted privately to correct his mistake before people can make a big issue out of things.JaggedJimmyJay wrote: ↑Tue May 07, 2019 1:51 pm Also I don't remember whether anyone said anything, and I'm not going to go digging -- but if any mafioso in this game used that deleted post incident against me even for a second, that was bullshit.![]()
Perhaps trying a game with the hammer voting that speedchuck mentioned or implementing an x-number of times someone is allowed to change their vote type of rule could try to help us find balance so people don't always feel overwhelmed at end of day. Just a couple thoughts. The latter is harder to implement if it's a crazy number, but something like 2-3 vote changes a day phase could work.Sloonei wrote: ↑Tue May 07, 2019 12:59 pm I think the discussion should be more than just about deadline times: the complaints in this game were about the flurry of activity around the deadline contributing to the feeling of being lost. I think this has more to do with the pacing of a game rather than its scheduling.
Actually, I remember that. The player asked a question in the thread, not even directed to the host, and the host quoted it and answered them. Yes, a mafia would have known the answer to that, so it managed to unintentionally town clear someone because why else would the host have answered them?Sloonei wrote: ↑Tue May 07, 2019 1:04 pmI agree with this. I forget what the question was, but I remember an instance in Mountains Mafia (this seems to be our go-to reference here) where a player asked the host a question in the thread and the host gave an answer. The simple fact that the host provided them with a direct and sincere answer told me that the player was town, because they would not have needed an answer to the question if they were mafia.dunya wrote: ↑Tue May 07, 2019 11:55 am one rule i wish was implemented a lot, lot harder is "always ask questions to the host via PM"
twice i thought the game was at risk of being broken. that would have sucked a lot after all the effort everyone put into it, and it could easily be avoided if people just respected the "don't ask questions in the thread" rule tbh.
Mechanical questions can give other players clues about your alignment. Answers to those questions can give further clues. I always request private questions in my games.
yes, i think he was joking too. he never said that in our mafia btsc. i do hate that word though lol.novaselinenever wrote: ↑Tue May 07, 2019 11:58 amI think he's just joking, and mostly making fun of himself and Mac for thinking that'd be an easy win then getting taken out so quickly.juliets wrote: ↑Tue May 07, 2019 11:44 amJack, honestly I think this is rude. If that happens I have no idea how I'll host anything, with both work and uni.![]()
Well, at least mafia won't kill me N1 next game, they'll just push for my mislynch cos I'm still alive past N1.
I enjoy open setups more these days.Dragon D. Luffy wrote: ↑Mon May 06, 2019 10:11 pm If you can't guarantee that, just ban claiming and call it a day.
I still think the Mexican Standoff is one of the best Mafia games I've played!Dragon D. Luffy wrote: ↑Mon May 06, 2019 10:10 pm Also NFers are lazy as hell and will abuse loopholes even when that is not strategically smart.
I think the problem was that you had consistently suspected her, and the suspicion grew kind of organically. It was hard to pinpoint when it developed and if it was a cause of your role.
Ahhh. Not sure what that was. I wasn't even sure what I WAS going to claim. At first, I was going to claim jailkeeper of some kind (it would explain the block). The fact that Jay was saved on N2 and then also came in and said his action failed was like a lifesaver. We knew there was a jailkeeper. Then I started thinking how people would react to a town blocker. The fact I'd blocked townies would have looked bad so I couldn't do it. The doctor was just random bullshit, a final hail mary. I do hate roleclaiming (you can check all my games, I don't like it), so that much was true.Matahari wrote: ↑Mon May 06, 2019 9:52 pm dunya you said something that sounded like you were hinting at having the role that sounded like Elo’s role that she eventually claimed. I made you a lighter Red temporarily while I tried to do the math. But I couldn’t take you out of my POS list. POS= percentage of sureness.
You are a fast talker when you’re bad. I’ll remember that next game!![]()
I genuinely felt bad about Luna. Eloh suggested we could lynch LC instead and I agreed, cos I'd feel less bad about lynching LC at endgame than Luna. Plus it would be funny. And it kinda was funny, sorry LC.Dragon D. Now I know why I was lynched, that shit would not have flown with me at all. LC was clearly town. And I didn't even read endgame, I saw the poll and knew immediately dunya was bad because civ dunya would never have voted for LC in that situation.
Also I wished I was still alive so I could tell you I had been blocked. But I hadn't been sure until the night I died.
Literally who the fuck cares about that in lylo.

I blocked you. Who did you jailkeep N2 and N3?
Granted, LC has a total of 60 posts so it doesn't mean a whole lot but still. It's peculiar to me and drew my attention when I was seeing the compatibility between LC and Kites potentially.Long Con wrote: ↑Wed May 01, 2019 9:42 pmWhy is this a good catch? I never kill people based on personal preference. I choose not to kill people based on personal preference. And I don't think Daisy was stressed at all. She was making fun of me because she knows the extent of stuff I have happening in real life atm and probably thinks I'm crazy to be this invested in a game. I am crazy. When I sign up though, even if I decide to be a warm body initially, I always feel guilty and feel like I owe it to the host who put effort into creating a game and people counting on me to make an effort. That shouldn't be alignment indicative for me and I'm not trying to make it.Lunalee wrote: ↑Mon May 06, 2019 7:20 pmI suspected spacedaisy more than you, but with her elimination you have become a larger suspect.
