Re: [END] Turf Wars: Battle of the Hosts
I realised the civ-on-civ gameplay aspect, but I figured it wasn't important because if town spent ages trying to lynch their opposite family members, the police would have been given free reign over the game. I always just intended to focus 100 percent on scum and if my family came out on top then it would be great.Spacedaisy wrote:for those of you questioning the Don's choices as far as challenges for his Capo and Crew, they did not know what the challenges were. They were choosing the reward and then picking a random number to assign their challenge with no knowledge of the actual mission itself. If they had known it would have outed who the capo and crew were. To both Dons. It would have hugely imbalanced the game for basically two groups of five civs to all know who each other are, it also would have made it impossible for a team to off their own Don by accident, which was an intended mechanic. Anyone who plays my games should know, there will always be a kind of role or mechanic that may require self sacrifice or strategic risk/loss.i am a huge fan of making players make tough decisions. And also of unique role interactions. The cops were pretty pessimistic at the idea of two civs each with their own BTSC partner that they could not arrest, but it was intentional. In order for one of the civ teams to win they had to take out the other Don. The game was built to pit civ against civ. You guys just never got there. Who knows, it might have changed the whole outcome if you hadn't put it off.

Nerolunar's also had some pretty friendly interactions with Scotty, which is of interest. My vote on Chaindeath is going nowhere, so Im changing it. I think Domcongoose looks worse than Scotty tbh, so Im voting for him.

Re: [DAY 9] Turf Wars: Battle of the Hosts
Long story short: Turnip is the don, and Epignosis is his consigliere. I refuse to back down on the idea that Turnip is the don, because there's no evidence to support any other conclusion. I feel good about this, and I actually went through both of their interactions with one another and nothing has put me off of this in the slightest.
Starting with Turnip:
A blatant opposition for the notion of lynching or suspecting Epi. Nothing concrete to back this up either.
He wants to save Epi here.
Epignosis places a brilliant shade of orange here. I believe that this sudden change is a disassociation tactic.
Flippity-floppity flip-flap-flop
Time to move onto Epi, where most of the meat is.
We get a nice soft defense for Turnip here (I underlined it because quoting that looks like a incomprehensible mess of hyperlinks)
This is where it gets good. Epi uses Turnip for his metaphor specifically. Why? Turnip wasn't part of the conversation. I take this as a role hint, whether intentional or not.
And he does it again.

4. No role outing of yourself or anyone else. This includes all statements of fact regarding your or someone else's role, such as "I am The Don" or "Spacedaisy is Beat Cop", etc. This game is open setup role madness and incompatible with role outing, thus making it not fun when players engage in it. Absolutely don't do it.
5. No dumping information you received from the Host (whether role-related or not) into the thread. This includes statements that more often are seen as implications, rather than statements of fact (role outing). An example would be declaring that "I have reasons to believe MovingPictures07 is Beat Cop" without elaborating. If you suspect someone to be a certain role or alignment, use in-thread reasons to back up your assertion or speculation, even if your reasons are sourced from information you gained outside of the thread. If you are unsure if what you are about to say constitutes info dumping, please PM the hosts first before making the post. If you fail to do this and your post does violate information dumping, then you and your faction will be punished.
6. You may, however, alignment claim truthfully or falsely, although it is not necessarily recommended.
Can I still post my role-guess for Epi using game-based facts without breaking any rules?

I don't know which don he was. But I at least think that they have that relationship. Wherever Turnip has mentioned Scotty, he's been pretty unwaveringly neutral about him. I think that supports the idea pretty well if you take it from a disassociation viewpoint, since as you said before, scum would want to eliminate people who have BTSC as a priority. Though later on, that neutral read suddenly became:Epignosis wrote:As of now, I don't agree with this.Quin wrote:This puts me off voting for Scotty. Do you all think Scotty's ISO of chaindeath could be a bus attempt, or not? "If I turn my tunnel vision on" (Sloonei, 2016), I see it happening given how little a presence chaindeath has really had in this game. I said it myself a while back, whether chaindeath was alive or not wouldn't really have much of an influence on the flow of the game.

Brady is currently on a date with Liberty Lee, his neighbour who just so happens to be a bookworm, just like him. I figured I'd take her to a coffee shop so they can play musical chairs and not associate themselves with one another for the next three sim hours.

In that case, I'm going to immerse myself in the Sims 4 for the next 194 hours. Everybody hates my sim for some reason. He's a doctor, by the way.

Re: [DAY 9] Turf Wars: Battle of the Hosts
Feels like a scum-beneficial compromise to me.
I won't do the same clear-cut tunneling Scotty's trying to do on me. If there's significant reason not to vote Scotty, I won't do it, but there's not a whole lot being thrown around in his defense and I'm confident he's a good choice.
Prisoner, does my explanation sit well with you? More questions? Lay it on thick if you need to.

'Lynch Quin and if he turns up good, lynch me'
Worst idea I've heard yet. There may not even be a Day 10 if I'm lynched.

Arrested players. At the time I had no idea that there were people from outside the game also posing as inmates.Prisoner 509378 wrote:In the post I highlighted, what did you mean by "jailmates"?Quin wrote:It was clear to me from the very beginning that there was a difference between being dead and being arrested. There was no logical reason for the two to be split up in the story posts if there was not something of interest there. I looked at the warden and figured that if he 'oversees' the prisoners, that means they've got BTSC. Why? Because they're supposed to communicate. Why? Because they have a goal.
I'm sure you've seen it, but I like to try and understand the game setup just as much as I try to understand player alignments. I gave an insight into the way that the seemer would work if they claimed the secret role, too. I talked about the captain and crew early on, because I wanted to understand it.
I only know these things because I make it a priority to understand how this game works.

Also, since I'm not a policeman, I'm blushing at the compliment of making these 'good ass guesses'.

Re: [DAY 9] Turf Wars: Battle of the Hosts
I considered the rookie cop having a secret role, but I very much doubt it. MP and SD have yet to lie about anything in the setup, and the rookie cops role description explicitly says 'He has no power', so I don't see them lying about that. If the rookie cop did have a secret ability, we would know.

Re: [DAY 9] Turf Wars: Battle of the Hosts
It does explain things. Say that scum have attempted to arrest both dons - it wouldn't work, so there's two. If they've attempted to arrest each stool pigeon, that's the other two since as you said, they have a free 'save'. The attempted lynch of Turnip is irrelevant since it happened during the day and both town or scum could have taken part in it.sig wrote:Nah doesn't explain things Quin. Both Stool's (ehehehe I said stool) are dead, they each only get 1 free life. We've had four misses and TH not getting lynched.
What are the chances there isn't say a Rookie cop and they've also got a secret role?
@Epi: I look forward to it. Drag me through the mud as rough as you can. I can take it.

Stool pigeons.
Is that a serious answer, Scotty?

Re: [DAY 9] Turf Wars: Battle of the Hosts
I looked at Serge, and for the most part, I liked him. Even in his inactivity, he asks questions, covers all his bases and he's working toward a goal. But when the GTH reads came around, I stopped liking him as much. His reads were surprising in comparison to what he'd previous posted in the thread. I picked out a few of his posts that made me feel all weird, and I'll give some general thoughts on them.
This doesn't sound sincere nor honest at all.
I don't know why this puts me off. I highlighted a specific bit that I read and didn't like. It made me re-read the entire post three times. If anybody has any thoughts on this post, tell me, because I don't know what to think.
If I were to pull a thread through all of these posts and get something from it, it tells me that he doesn't know why fuzz was lynched with less votes. In other words, he wasn't aware of the presence of the loan shark. I don't see a civ not knowing that, but I don't want to say he's scum based on that alone.
