From the role description it seems that WJ does post whatever the hosts are sending him/her. The question is, if our lovely hostesses can provide an answer, is everything that WJ says true?

Mayhaps the lovely hosts could clarify. Is what they tell WJ true?

I knew that response looked familiar! ;)

Here are some thoughts:

1. I'm inclined to believe that what WJ is saying is true. Why? Because there are quite a few people here who have btsc and who obviously know more than the rest, while others have nothing to work with except this truckload of confusing posts and frankly, this is very frustrating. I could say unfair, but I guess that's part of the game. So with WJ this is an attempt to balance things a bit.
2. I was going to cut Athena some slack after Fortuna flipped civ but then there was this:
The civvie protector has protected noone

3. Same goes for Poseidon. I had a gut feeling about him, but nothing to work with because he is mostly absent. And there is also this:
Mr Town: Thinks ALL gods are just freaks with telepathy, he can protect himself or one member of his team each night from all blockable powers
4.
Pluto wrote:I don't seem to be on the poll today. So thank you Mr. Ibis for that!
Prometheus was definitely who he appeared to be
You know what my first thought was? You so knew you that you were not going to be on the poll AND why. I can't prove that unfortunately.
5.
There is at least one dead baddie

if this is true and the Communication role is what Medusa was implying, then either Persephone or Atlas are baddies. Or both. If not, any of the ones already dead could be bad.

Contest Over and Winner Has Been Notified

Image

Congratulations Winner! Thank you everyone who participated in the contest regarding my avatar. The entries were outstanding, it was hard to have only one winner. Here for your information are the answers to the questions:

About my avatar...
1. What is the name of the sculpture?
A. Apollo and Daphne

2. What are they doing, i.e., what is happening (details please)?
A. Apollo clutches Daphne’s hip pursuing her as she flees trying to escape him. Apollo desperate and longing wears a laurel crown foreshadowing Daphne’s metamorphosis into the laurel tree. Daphne is portrayed halfway through her metamorphosis into the laurel tree with her arms already transforming into its branches as she flees and calls to her Father to save her from Apollo. (you can see her turning into a tree a little better in the above image)

3. Who is the sculptor of this work?
A. Bernini

4. How large is the sculpture?
A. Life Size or 96 inches

5. What city will you find this sculpture?
A. Rome

6. Where in the city will you find it?
A. Galleria Borghese

7. What God was insulted and set off the events depicted in the sculpture (the Greek one)?
A. Eros of course! Shot Apollo with his bow of love and shot Daphne with a bow of lead to hate. Eros was insulted by Apollo.

8. What year was the sculpture finished?
A. 1625

9. What was the most famous work this sculptor did?
A. Well, I thought it was the baldacchino in St. Peters Bascillica under which the bones of Peter are said to lay, but the answer kept coming in the Ecstasy of St. Therese so I figured it was a matter of opinion and everyone got it right.

10. Why am I making you answer all these questions about this sculpture other than to play a game?
A. My favorite answers:
1. For your next game Angels and Demons by Dan Brown. :p or maybe because its hilarious to see eros and apollo go for each other? Or maybe a super secret awesome twist?!?
2. One word: baroque. I don't know about you guys, but I'm a sucker for it. Muzak - Scarlatti, Handel, Telemann (omnonnomonmnom), harpsichord and recorder (omnomnomnomno); Painting - Caravaggio (drool); Architecture (attaches picture)

I accepted all of the answers I got because they were good (such a creative bunch you are) though the real answer is simple (though an Angels and Demons game sounds fun and I do love the boroque): this is my favorite sculpture and I want any of you who go to Rome to know enough to go and see it. It will stop your heart.

I am a little intrigued with this preoccupation with Herr Hinzelmann, as though finding him is immediately paramount to success.

The kobold is currently more of a threat to the two teams than the civilians have been.

I am more interested in dismantling the teams that can whisper and scheme. Which means I may have to give up my revenge on Apollo. :p

Pallas may be the goddess of wisdom, but I think that may make her the goddess of subterfuge.

I've been reading Athena, and it's amazing how after the Artemis lynch, the Athena vs. Artemis discussion waned. And clearing Athena from SK status =/= a full acquittal.

The Zeus / Athena interactions have intrigued me:
Athena wrote:Kentuky is fine by me.
Zeus wrote:I thought we were all onboard trusting Eros' word for now? How did this happen? The baddies are running this game and we need to start killing them as immediately.
When did we start trusting his word? I think I missed that. Even if he was right about Fortuna, doesn't mean that he's civ...

I agree about the wanting to kill baddies part, though.
Athena wrote:
Zeus wrote:I wasn't up with a Fortuna lynch. I believed Eros. I think I'll br looking at Fortuna voters
Also non-voters. I think the baddies are blending in the background and letting the rest of us do their dirty work for them.

Eros, I agree with you that finding the baddie teams would be preferable to finding Hinzelmann, but the reason I have been focusing on him is that I feel I have hard evidence to point me in his direction in the form of missed votes. I am much less certain where to look for the other baddies, so I thought I would try to kill him first and then worry about them. If you have ideas on who the baddie teams may be, I would love to hear them. I have never let go of my suspicion of Athena, since for a long time she seemed more interested in the nights than the days, so I am glad to see you looking in that direction as well.

I'm eyeing Pluto and Zeus as a result of the latest discussion. Ceres, that is a good observation about Pluto. He seemed to point it out on purpose. I dunno. It felt phony in retrospect.

But Zeus's comments have been getting a big :eye: from me.

Eros, I find your Athena observations very interesting. Can you elaborate on what you think this indicates in respect to Zeus? Can you also elaborate on Athena. I have felt suspicious of her for a while, but haven't been able to articulate it.

I don't ecpect anyone to go along with this but it's an idea. No more night kills.

I'm leaning towards Phoenix at this point, because I think he has a good shot of being Hinzelmann. As far as members of the baddie teams, Mars has been worrying me a bit, but that's more of a vibe than anything else.

Aprhodite puzzles me.

I disagree about Pandora, who made a defense of Athena not being Herr H. As though that meant something.

Why ask me if I'm seeing something about Vesta, but not about the other two?

It's a wide net, I'll grant you, but I'm suspicious of all three of them, plus Athena.

It's true, it feels easier to pinpoint Hinzie than a baddie team, especially since we havent lynched one yet that we know of. Of course it would be better to chip away at a team and hopefully gain more leads. That said Hinzelmann can only self-protect once, so doesnt it have to be someone who voted Day 1, but missed either Day 2 and/or Day 3? Or they skipped a kill as some have said.

I already have (wasn't too much there).

Anyway, my friend, I do not look for "odd." I look for things more subtle than that.

You, of course, are impossible to read, as always. I commend you.

See, this I don't get.

Teams work together. A serial killer is basically a blind civilian with a kill. I'd much rather be on a bad team than LMS.

What don't you get? Because of the votes and Night powers and lack of kills it seems easier to pinpoint Hinzlemann. Do you disagree? When you say "on a bad team," do you mean "on the trail of"? If we had a strong lead than yes lets go for it. I do not think Athena can be Hinzelmann for example based on the evidence, but I am only suspicious of her and dont have much more to go on atm.

:solitary:
1. I entirely disagree on WJ. I have never seen a mafia game in which the journalist role got entirely true information. It doesn't make sense in terms of balance. I also think the hosts are tricksier than that and wouldn't always be entirely straightforward with the true information. I would be shocked to learn that every piece of information he gets is true. And I will not be taking his posts as gospel, or as a way for the hosts to tell the entire thread more information. That just doesn't make sense to me for game set up.

2. Bast, indeed, did not protect me--I could have told you that. I know how I was protected from that kill. Without going into too much detail, it was a result of a role mechanic of sorts. I was protected in a unique way, so to speak.

3. No idea how poseiden survived. But let's also take blocks into consideration.

4. Since I'm not believing all of WJ's info, I'll say we dont know that's true. There could also be a role that takes others' powers. Mr Stone, for instance...

5. I think that anyone that died could be bad, and that chances are that there's at least 1 dead baddie, just in terms of probability.
Eros wrote:Pallas may be the goddess of wisdom, but I think that may make her the goddess of subterfuge.

You don't say? :ponder:
Do you not agree that baddies are blending in the background?

I assure you, I am not bad (or the SK, or indy, or anything other than civilian).

Apollo, I suspect the word you're looking for to describe me is "blendy". That's how I roll. :p

But I do think Zeus' plan seems like it could be some sort of ridiculously bold baddie ploy, so he's got my eye on him for sure.

Out of the other quiet players, Vesta has come across as fairly civ to me, and Pandora has mostly been a nonentity until now. I want to hear more from Aphrodite once she's resanified, as I don't have much read on her yet. I have wondered about Poseidon ever since early in the game when Persephone seemed to be defending him, but it looks like that was nothing. I'm probably leaning more civ on him now.

Ok the rest lose their night powers but, hey...no night kill! If there is a nk then it will be obvious who the perp is.
I don't ecpect anyone to go along with this but it's an idea. No more night kills.
Are you serious?

I see many problems with this plan. Many.
I am serious. Of course. I am Zeus.

Sorry, but I have to go ahead and vote now. I'll be gone for most of the day and probably won't be back until after the lynch is over. I'm going to go with Zeus for now because I can't tell if he's being serious or not about his "plan". But something about it smells really bad to me.

I don't know how a plan to stop Nks, which btw is only a suggestion, would possibly benefit me if I was bad. I sense a bold baddie move here to remove another civ.

You mean allowing three players to control the lynch?

I thought Zeus's point was that the three players would vote what the majority of players chose, after discussion in the thread. I can't really see a baddie coming up with this plan. But I disagree with it because I don't think our hostesses would be very pleased with people not voting.

I don't think it would be terrible if we discussed things that would help us determine who is still in the game, and who isn't. It might help us to figure out whether any of the lynched were not who we thought. For instance, I was given btsc one night by apple Johnny. Or at least that's what I thought- something happened later that made me wonder... If people can say whether they are still getting btsc as a gift from apple j, it would help me to figure some things out.

Hercules, I would like to hear more from you. You said you voted Persephone based on eros's case on her, (which i only saw two posts regarding persephone) and then got upset because you were taking votes for being scarce. But you're still being scarce.

Who do you suspect?

Aprhodite puzzles me.

I disagree about Pandora, who made a defense of Athena not being Herr H. As though that meant something.

Why ask me if I'm seeing something about Vesta, but not about the other two?
I know you have to take into consideration what the previous Pandora said, but she/he was practically non-existent. AND, her post about Athena and hinzlemann was a QUESTION! See below...

"No mention of a Hinzelmann NK, so self-protecting? Can't self-protect twice so he must be on the prowl tomorrow night  ... Athena missed the vote, but was still protected, ruling out Athena as Hinzelmann, yes?"

I am not sure how you can have any suspicions of me yet. :noble:
