Ok, operating under the assumption that luna is the Oracle (which I'm not sure I agree with, given her reaction yesterday), I plan on looking into dunya, nova, jack, and marmot.

It’s a bad assumption. When it came up yesterday I looked at her thread reads and they were basically the opposite of the oracle. I think it’s a big leap for her to be in that role.colonialbob wrote: ↑Wed May 02, 2018 7:26 am Ok, operating under the assumption that luna is the Oracle (which I'm not sure I agree with, given her reaction yesterday), I plan on looking into dunya, nova, jack, and marmot.

Keeping in mind that there is no infodumping of role hinting, her behavior surrounding the Oracle makes sense to me if she is the oracle, actually. What makes you think otherwise?Golden wrote: ↑Wed May 02, 2018 7:32 amIt’s a bad assumption. When it came up yesterday I looked at her thread reads and they were basically the opposite of the oracle. So you don't agree with your own assumption? Good call. I don't agree with it either. We’ve got four votes on dunya without a word being spoken about them. I know she was talked about yesterday, but let’s refresh thd conversation. Why are we voting dunya today)
I’m gonna [VOTE: Spacedaisy] aubergine because I would forget she was in this game if her name wasn’t on the player list.

Re: Ancient Greece Mafia [Day 2]
I don’t have time to methodically link shit on my phone today, but I just perused nova’s ISO in pertinence to Colin, and I suggest everyone else do too. Here’s a summary with a few quotes thrown in:
Day 1: nova has a hodgepodge of brief scum reads, but settled on sig and Sloonei as top contenders. No mention of Colin.
Night 1: nova calls out Colin, says he looks shady, “but in the bad way” by voting off train. It’s not a hard leap to say that looks fishy, but both nova and Colin get into a semantics argument for like 10 posts back and forth. It legitimately looks like nova is finding chinks in colin’s armor. Good look.
Day 2: ok, here’s the bad look. First post is happiness over the leading wagons (Colin and Sloonei) except for the ENTIRETY of the day, nova will push for sloonei’s lynch, and cast doubt on MP, invalidating MP on the first half of D2.
Here’s an example post:
Not only that, but he defends Colin because his lynch seems too easy, that no one is resisting it. (Well, except nova)
I’d expect someone that was just calling someone suspicious the night before to be all over the Colin lynch, but no. He is campaigning against Sloonei as more compatibility, with a very limited reasoning.
“Still good with the Colin lynch” well that’s just swell- I wouldn’t have known otherwise.
I think this vote is an admission that Colin didn’t help himself or his teammates. But “all his posts are bad, real bad”. OH YEAH? Which ones? He didn’t defend himself like you said. And looking at the previous quote I linked, you even ragged on me for my apparent judgment of Colin, “seeing him guilty with each post”. So what changed with nova here to get there?
The last little tagline nova included was cute too, one more bit of doubt on the development of the Colin train. Even though...you’re “still good” with it.
Guys I think nova is bad. This looks worse to me than LC’s defending. Whereas LC defended and didn’t really interact outside of that, I see a slight distancing with Colin in nova’s posts and an unwillingness to put the hammer down in D2 after the slight distancing in N1.

This post right here pushes for Sloonei, even though the most meaningful prodding nova has had all game is against Colin. Why is he avoiding that?novaselinenever wrote: ↑Fri Apr 27, 2018 2:26 amAll right, so here's where we disagree. I think that his lynch is very worthwhile and I found some of his interactions and the also the lack of them with certain players, very interesting. I think he has more scum team compatibility than Colin and thus his flip gives a lot of info.wolbre04 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 27, 2018 2:13 amSorry about that, I was trying to say that based on the stuff leading up to epi's death and this day, I don't think Sloonei would be a worthwhile lynch, but that's just me. He might be 3p aligned mafia or regular town" at the moment. Night actions told me so and I'm confident in myselfnovaselinenever wrote: ↑Fri Apr 27, 2018 12:57 am
It was really aggressive. He accused me of not wanting to bother analyze posts and I don't know where he's getting that from. I don't see a reason against Wolbre explaining his thoughts and giving the analysis of Sloonei's posts that lead him to believe that. It's standard procedure.
Glad it wasn't but in any event I've slowly been leaning towards a Colin vote and it might be where I end up. We'll see.
I also sense a certain resistance to his lynch even though most agree with Mac's case on him. The same can't be said for Colin's lynch. For example Scotty didn't see much of a case against Colin and all of a sudden he sees Colin guilty with each post. Mac who made the case against Sloonei is also voting Colin. You defending him.
Experience can be overrated sometimes. It shouldn't stop anyone from listening to you if your arguments are sound.
I still haven't decided between the two but leaning Sloonei now.

Something I find interesting is how this wagon grew exponentially in the last few hours. I know he didn't defend himself but I still feel uneasy with all the votes he's getting when it was a tied lynch earlier.

I didn't have time to ISO yesterday. I'm on those suggestions today. I see I have 3 votes already, I don't even want to know why or who or what at this point. I don't have time to defend myself and scum hunt, and I prefer to do the latter with what time I have atm.

since I was linki'd, I will address you, Luna.
yea, I've been travelling since end of Day 1. this is not how I usually play mafia, I'm sorry. This game is not a nice representation of my meta in either alignment and it's shameful this far.

Why does the 'tagline' looks scummy? What's the scum motive behind that action?

She was voting me and saying I was bad right through the same period that Pythia wrote the first prophecy saying I'm good, that's the primary reason, but I think more than just that don't match.Scotty wrote: ↑Wed May 02, 2018 9:43 amKeeping in mind that there is no infodumping of role hinting, her behavior surrounding the Oracle makes sense to me if she is the oracle, actually. I think the Oracle will be someone whose reads in thread are a decent match for what was said in the prophecy, but I don't think there's much wisdom in trying to solve it. I just think there is wisdom in not jumping to a conclusion with contrary evidence in the thread.

Re: Ancient Greece Mafia [Day 4]
I'll be doing everyone. I'll start with yesterday's suggestions. My thoughts on Choutas first:
this is the first significant contribution from Choutas, throwing shade towards Golden. I actually liked his reply to Golden here, reminds me of Choutas' civ logic on RYM. He came in and actively engaged and threw suspicion to one of the most vocal and active people in the thread #ballstothewall style. I feel like a scum Choutas in a new environment would play it a little more reserved, especially on Day 1. This is a positive point in Choutas' favor.Choutas wrote: ↑Mon Apr 23, 2018 6:35 amNo it's a game. Mistakes are repeated, the problems the mafia faction faces are the same since time immemorial. You can not simply change a principle it would turn the game upside down.Golden wrote: ↑Mon Apr 23, 2018 6:31 amNo to both. These are weak-ass reasons for any vote. This is basically the definition of confusing 'weird' with 'bad'. This is like a list of reasons for all the mislynches on sig, marmot and wilgy over the years.
I'm being 'sloppy' because I'm having fun, and my vote wasn't in the slightest bit random but was in fact very carefully considered. It just wasn't because I suspect sloonei.
Through it all, I challenge you to accuse me of lack of meaningful content, because I think you'll find I've already got more than most everyone else in the thread.
Then we won't lynch the scum looking players but the town looking players because apparently they can replicate town behaviour perfectly and the townies have a bad history of looking mafia.
Right.
I didn't like this too much. This isn't really a reply, it's throwing suspicion on Sloonei in the easiest way possible as soon as he's questioned about him (and he wasn't even asked about it, he butted into Mac's question to Colin): "Sloonei is so good as scum and town, I don't know what to make of him so he is probably scum." The reply is a negative for me, because it's too easy, yet it's also expected from someone who hasn't at all been keeping up with the thread. The butting into Mac/Colin questioning is a different matter. I just don't see any advantage of that scum Choutas could think of, other than early distancing if it's w/w. He hadn’t mentioned Sloonei before.
the infamous, what if the game is broken post. Like Mac, I tend to think that this comes from a Townie mindframe, but WIFOM and all that.. I've seen players play this "omg this game may not be fair on townies" card coming from the scum team before. It's not that hard to imagine Choutas doing it tbh so I'm not going to award town or scum points here.
That's Choutas' last post. I can see a Sloonei/Choutas w/w but I'd have to review Sloonei's posts towards Choutas first. (I'm really behind on homework)
in summary: Choutas is someone I haven't played with in some years, admittedly, but I have read some old games fairly recently and I can't claim his performance in this game is alignment indicative based on past meta. He's fairly disconnected from this game, and as someone who is busy atm too, I can relate to that. I feel like he jumps on whatever is being discussed when he pops into the thread without really catching up on this beast of a thread or making too much of an effort (yes, yes, I'm one to talk). Jumping on Golden cos Golden was active when he was online on Day 1 for example. Jumping on Sloonei because Sloonei was being discussed. I don't feel like he is being schooled in BTSC particularly and I feel an inactive or distracted scum would more likely vote with the majority (a la MP--something I noticed and will no doubt look into more in depth when I analyze his posts and not just look at voting history). On the other hand, if Sloonei is scum, I wouldn't be surprised if Choutas is too.
For now, Choutas is in the Orange category of my rainbow list, but I wouldn't lynch him based on this short ISO yet. I will ISO Sloonei soon, and if I see a strong connection to implicate w/w, my read could turn Red.

Re: Ancient Greece Mafia [Day 4]
I did not take this as Choutas stating a suspicion of me. I took it as him offering general thoughts on me with no inclination toward my alignment in this game. He would vote for me later on without explaining why, and still has not explained it as far as I know. But I did not take this post to be a declaration of suspicion against me. That said, I question its value and motive.dunya wrote: ↑Wed May 02, 2018 1:06 pmI'll be doing everyone.
This ISO seems to paint choutas in a more favorable light than "orange". What do you make of the multiple points you made in Choutas' favor if he's orange on your rainbow? For now, Choutas is in the Orange category of my rainbow list, but I wouldn't lynch him based on this short ISO yet. I will ISO Sloonei soon, and if I see a strong connection to implicate w/w, my read could turn Red.
I await your review of my posts.

Also I am not operating under the assumption that Luna is the Oracle. I do not think she was trying to hint at her identity and I think that would be a violation of the rules anyway.

Can anyone give their opinion on nova besides Speedchuck
Sloonei, what points specifically do you agree with?

I’m gonna [VOTE: Spacedaisy] aubergine because I would forget she was in this game if her name wasn’t on the player list.

The answer: all of them, if you are a marmot.

Re: Ancient Greece Mafia [Day 4]
I still need to do my own ISO of him, but by your analysis I see him as seeming to keep the Colin lynch open as an option to himself while trying to tiptoe around it and push for me instead. I’ve never played with scum nova and don’t know how he’d approach a teammate under pressure, but I could see that as a baddie who isn’t hesitant to bus a teammate early in the game.

Re: Ancient Greece Mafia [Day 1]
Here we can get a glimpse from what appears to be sig calling him out on “coasting” as mafia previously, though nova sticks that up sig’a ass with a stick to smoke.novaselinenever wrote: ↑Tue Apr 24, 2018 3:44 pmThis feels like a forced vote. Earlier when you mentioned me, you said that I was playing my Town meta by being quiet but now it's opposite. Which is it then ?
I don’t know his meta, but one could say nova has been “coasting” of late. After Colin got lynched, he’s definitely lost a bit of wind in his sails

Re: Ancient Greece Mafia [Day 4]
I took it as a push of suspicion when it was followed by a vote later on without any other context. It can be read in either tone, but since he voted for you, I read it in a tone of possibly casting doubt on you.Sloonei wrote: ↑Wed May 02, 2018 1:21 pm I did not take this as Choutas stating a suspicion of me. The only real positive imo was his push against Golden Day 1. I could find counterarguments for the points against you. I posted my thoughts as they came, but I would say it was mostly negative feelings I felt from the post about you to Mac which was in response to a question he asked Colin (scum). and I could even lean on slight unauthentic on his "this game is unfair on townies" post. Posts like that, if a real concern, I feel would have been made directly to the host in PM. I've done that in the past in both alignments, when I felt early on there was something questionable about balance. I wouldn't embarrass the host, especially someone I am familiar with, if it was an entirely sincere feeling imo.

Apologies to Jay and my fellow players for not being involved here; I've had an insane 72 hours to say the least (including what will hopefully be my last all-nighter). I'll be around more going forward.
My brain needs to recover though, so it might be later tonight or tomorrow.
