The fact that Jay thinks there's such a thing as a "moronic" lynch candidate doesn't bode well either. If he didn't have information and was town, he'd realize that despite a Day 1 scumflip, it's possible for anyone to be bad.

He's not acting that way at all. He lacks the underlying paranoia and reassessment. It's all agenda.

M Plus 7 wrote: Sat May 26, 2018 6:50 pm I'll try to illustrate what bothers me about Jay here in a bit. Most of his recent scum hunting is characterized by low-hanging fruit, WIFOM, etc. that town Jay would only give little consideration, or at least would realize the other point of view. The difference between town Jay and scum Jay is the agenda. Town Jay, despite speaking with confidence, is never really sure of anything; he's always trying to pressure and investigate from as many angles as possible. Scum Jay is trying to appear that way but really he's pushing an agenda. I really hate that Jay's actively engaging in WIFOM and pushing Marmot as a candidate based on such weak shit.

I'll ISO him when I'm less distracted to try to highlight what I mean.

well put.

I was the only player to suspect Kyle, let up on it even though I still had it on the back of my mind, so he was under no pressure.

I think this means the first kill was potentially meant to frame someone or get us looking in a specific direction. I'd be wary of people trying to steer that conversation. From what I recall, Jay did this.

That concerns me greatly.
It seems to me like a team that’s active, but not entirely active. I probably would have killed jjj or Kyle N1 for instance. But then there’s the advent of the dentist doctor, so perhaps nova was a kill to clear the airwaves.

In either case, I feel like it’s not indicative of a particular player to go that route. As Quin said, nova didn’t really have any big detractors. But all this leading to JJJ? Maybe, but not emphatically

Most of his scum hunting since then has been sporadic (I know this is ironic coming from me, but hear me out), and he's been engaging in an uncharacteristic amount of low hanging fruit, WIFOM, and NKA.

I don't like it. Town Jay would be looking at more angles. Jay keeps pushing easy suspects.

Sorry, I still don't understand. What "treatment" are you referring to?
Nothing specific, just how I treated Choutas in general. Would you treat a teammate like that? I wouldn't.
I asked for clarification and you just used the same words??? What do you mean by how you "treated" him?
I really don't understand what you're asking me, I'm sorry. Do you want a specific quote or something?
Meh, I won't pursue this anymore since I think you're town anyway and it doesn't seem worth the effort. I was just a little perplexed since it seemed to me that the "treatment" you were referring to was how you acted nonchalant about his lynch and eventually voted for him, when you also said at one point that you like to bus teammates as mafia. I just couldn't quite put together what you meant in a way that didn't seem like a contradiction.
I'm sorry, what I'm saying makes total sense to me, but that's probably only because I know my alignment and I understand the distinction between how I play when town and mafia, something I'm surprised more of you haven't picked up on.

I love bussing teammates when bad. I would have bussed Choutas the way Jay did if I was his teammate. Trust me.
This has been my main concern with you- you did bus choutas if you are bad this game. This self proclamation of your baddie meta is what’s holding me back from giving you a green card.

Also I’m not going to marry you as another way to get it

I hate bussing my teammates and have never done it on Day 1 in my Mafia career. It “can” work, but on balance it’s a net negative. I don’t engage in foolery and tricks when there is no need. I lynch civilians and I win.

I cannot hunt without an opportunity to comb ISOs and discuss topics live. Ideally I’ll have my chance later, but if I do end up lynched I have a fucking demand.

If you’re a civilian and you lynched me, especially if your name is M Plus 7, you will follow these instructions:

1. You will not wallow in misery and frustration.
2. You will not lament your mistake.
3. You will not allow yourself to give anything away to the mafia team.
4. You will transform your bad feelings about murdering me into increased intensity and will to win.
5. You will hunt without mercy, and without regard for having been wrong about me.
6. You will lynch those who give you no inspiration.
7. You will not lynch those who do unless you have truly uncovered a sound and plausible case.
8. You will do this in my memory, for you will have ripped my control over ending my losing streak from my grasp and shouldered it yourself.
9. You will not let me down.

I just think it's misguided to try to trace the kills back, especially this early in the game, in the attempt to clear someone based off of them.

I hate your bolded sentence. I can understand that being your preference (as it's mine as well), but surely you can hunt regardless.

I'm going to do my own independent ISO of Jay now (god help me), so we'll see how I feel afterwards. I'll try to be as open-minded as possible.

You literally said Nova was a smart kill (wen't back to look, cause I hadn't read the post since my initial impression). My point was exactly that you were the only one I perceived to not go "hm, that was a weird kill" but instead found a reason for it to be a good kill. That is not wrong. Not even objectively. And it can't be subjectively wrong. Why the fuck is this such a thing for you? What does it even mean for me to "shit on you analysis" lol. Anyway, have fun with thinking I'm scum, and please go look for my teammate so you're not wasting all the time in the case you are town. Please and thank you.
Literally has nothing to do with why I suspect you. I suspect you for what came after. This:
I also don't like that he was the one to be like "no but the kill was actually clever come on guyezzz" for more or less silly reasons
You suspect me for having a different opinion. I already find that disingenuous. "no but" implies that I did my analysis with the purpose of opposing what everyone else thought. You never explain why my reasons for thinking what I did was silly. My reasons were not silly. You just degraded them.
Also, genuine question: Have you read the whole game?
What purpose does this question serve?

I don’t know about Jay you guys. Would he make a legacy post that long, for the second time in the game, if he were scum? My instinct and knowledge of him as a player tells me he’d put the effort to try to frame somebody else instead or something.

ISO of JaggedJimmyJay

I'll try to keep this as brief as possible for my own sanity.

Here is an example of a post in Jay's ISO I absolutely hate:
Spoiler: show
JaggedJimmyJay wrote: Thu May 24, 2018 8:26 pm I think the case against wolbre is probably the most substantive of the three. That clashes with my gut perspective. I can live with that lynch.

I think Elohcin's treatment of me on Day 1 is the best civilian indicator among them (better than Choutas votes). It's not much.

I don't have much for Quin. Maybe his initial few posts were decent (probing into novaselinenever). The Choutas vote should theoretically be good, but when there's no visible reason for it to exist then the potential for an underhanded strategy would seem to increase.

I can live with any of these frankly. :p
Just no. These are all low hanging fruit suspects, and I'd be OK if Jay wanted to lynch one or two of them maybe, but he's not even considering whether any of those weird or low-posting players are coming from a town or scum place, and we only have 2 scum left. It's like Jay is equating a player's effort with whether they are worthy of a lynch, despite the interactive analysis he previously conducted, and despite the fact that he knows that whether someone seems anti-town or low-effort does not mean they should be lynched. They're all low posters. This is the apathy of scum Jay.

I also hate this:

I have trouble interpreting heavy WIFOM statements like that. What do you think of it?
When Marmot does it, it shouldn't be discarded.
I asked Jay what he thought of it. He just said it shouldn't be discarded. He didn't tell me how he interpreted it, and he didn't seem to give thoughtful consideration to whether a town or scum Marmot would say that and why.

Somehow what's even worse is this D3 progression of posts:
Spoiler: show

Marmot no
Epignosis no
Elohcin no
This reads list is garbage. Epi and Elo are low hanging fruit, and Marmot's had a ton of heat on him off and on especially since his Choutas vote.
Spoiler: show
JaggedJimmyJay wrote: Fri May 25, 2018 9:38 pm I think I’ll switch Colin for Dizzy as the tinfoil. If I’m Gladys Campbell, Colin is a dentist.

If MP is mafia I think I’m likely to be dead by now. Epignosis never kills me, and I have no trouble seeing Marmot keeping me alive. Elohcin has said before that her teams have kept me alive strategically. I don’t trust any of those three.

I will be more thorough when I can.
This is also garbage. We have a D1 scum flip, all those interactive analysis posts that Jay himself did, tons of other content, and he's relying on night kill analysis as the main basis for his reads and D3 vote? What the fuck?

The weakest possible shit.

I'm open. I have no time to do my own digging, but you should assemble a larger case. :nicenod:
This is also gross. Jay has made no indication previously in his ISO (other than the beef with Dizzy's vote on D1 which I already grilled him for) that he'd consider Dizzy. Even worse, he just says "I'm open." Vague. Keeping his voting options open.

JaggedJimmyJay wrote: Sat May 26, 2018 9:27 am [VOTE: Marmot] aubergine

For the moment the loudest things in the thread to me are Choutas's "Mac is right into the role" and Marmot's "I got a mafia role card".

I'm still doing travel things for a few days. I may be able to provide more thorough input later tonight, but I cannot make promises.
Worst vote ever. Seriously. There's over 1,500 posts in this game and this is how Jay makes his vote?

It's autopilot. Jay doesn't care about the hunt.

Things I Like in Jay's ISO:
- vote for Choutas (objectively it looks solid, of course)
- effort put into interactive analysis ISOs on N1 after scum flip

Things I Don't Like in Jay's ISO:
- what I've already highlighted above as particularly egregious (going after low hanging fruit, relying way too much on NKA and WIFOM, and autopilot hunting)
- conversation with me on D1 re: Dizzy and how "looks bad" somehow means that's worthy of a vote (reference)
- along similar lines, Jay is voting for and/or going after low hanging fruit way too often for my comfort this game without making what I see as a fair attempt to determine whether the weird or inactive behavior is coming from a town or scum place (Dizzy on D1, Charlie on N1, Quin on D2, wolbre on D2 -- this one is the worst)
- vote for Choutas seems too clean (WIFOM)
- vote for wolbre (I don't buy that he actually assessed wolbre fairly)
- loaded language, especially in D1 interactions of Quin, that looks inauthentic
