Btw as much as a do trust this group... we need to be careful about talking about buying items that can be easily circumvented if the mafia knows who has them.

Colin feels bad. SOmething about him feels opprtunistic.
Beats me on Epi. Low post Epi bothers me, but as always he is saying a bunch of stuff I agree with while also being sttuborn.

I have exactly the same view again on Nutella and Colin.
I get good vibes from epi. I think him nitpicking our specific posts and treating them as silver bullets is standard town epi... reminds me of, for instance, GoC.

Golden chucks a tantrum and gives up his ship telling Mac to take it.
Mac doesn't want to take it.
Golden insists.
Mac decides to take it so he can use the privilege to get bad guys lynched.
Mac returns to regularly scheduled scum hunting.
Spacedaisy off handedly tells Mac at the end of the day to send the ship somewhere while Mac is out at the shops.
Mac looks for the options but finds none. Goes back to shopping. Tells speedchuck to make a decision.
Day ends.
Ship goes nowhere.
Mutiny if you want I don't care. My interest in this game has taken a massive beaten by personal attacks.

This is where we differ in our ethos as it pertains to selections.
Mac logic:
Put the player who is on the ship that you have the most doubt over on the poll so the town can discuss it.
Golden logic:
Put the player who is on the ship that is least likely to get lynched to preserve numbers so that you can win challenges and get items and shit.
My absolute perspective is that the ships games are the biggest risk to the town of winning the game. I have no interest in them.

Fair enough though. All I'm saying is, I feel the same way right now. But divesting myself of the captaincy has given me a new lease on things.
If you want to get your head back in the game, you could do worse than reading TH's iso. Here's a copy of what I posted back in the main thread.

Re: Bonnie Mae - N4
Of course if the residents of this ship are more interested in fucking around with ship games to win cash and exchange for items than actually finding bad guys, then feel free to mutiny and take back the ship. The only part of this job I am interested in is what assists us in lynching Mafia.
If you want to find bad guys then don't mutiny. If we're still in this together tomorrow then you guys just decide where the ship goes, what missions to take up etc. and play the part of the game yourselves. I'm in this for the greater good.
I am aware that the items contain night abilities and such but frankly I don't think their value aligns with the level of distraction they bring.

My logic is to keep people off the poll whoa re most likely to be mislynched and I already fucked it up once by the person I put on being immediately lynched and town. If I'd put glorfindel on, maybe we'd be one less mislynch down right now.

Re: Bonnie Mae - N4
The thing is that I don't think the scum have actually gotten any items. I've been on Serenity (where I believe 2 scum were/are) and we didn't get shit. I got the only item of value and bailed. INH and Enrique have nothing. I think Turnip Head's crew sans DDL is mostly town. I don't think that there is a huge risk of the scum being able to win the game by virtue of item usage. I do think there is a huge risk of the scum being able to win the game through continuously not being on the poll.Golden wrote: ↑Sun Aug 19, 2018 3:03 amMy perspective is that they are the biggest asset the town has to prevent mafia manipulating the lynches.MacDougall wrote: ↑Sun Aug 19, 2018 3:00 am My absolute perspective is that the ships games are the biggest risk to the town of winning the game. I have no interest in them.
Both are true at the same time. Depends on the captain.

Re: Bonnie Mae - N4
Marmot getting lynched was because Marmot didn't do enough to make himself look town. You should have put DDL on the poll but Marmot was your next best option. It wasn't your fault he was mislynched it was mostly DharmaHelper's fault for refusing to put Enrique or INH on the poll despite me begging him to.Golden wrote: ↑Sun Aug 19, 2018 3:05 amThat isn't my logic at all, anyway, and it's a pretty gross misrepresentation.MacDougall wrote: ↑Sun Aug 19, 2018 3:00 amGolden logic:
Put the player who is on the ship that is least likely to get lynched to preserve numbers so that you can win challenges and get items and shit.
My logic is to keep people off the poll whoa re most likely to be mislynched and I already fucked it up once by the person I put on being immediately lynched and town. If I'd put glorfindel on, maybe we'd be one less mislynch down right now.

Players are only at risk of being mislynched because they are at risk of being lynched. If the poll is only ever players nobody wants to lynch then how are we going to win?

And I think there's a huge risk that the scum wins because we let them mislynch people we could protect.MacDougall wrote: ↑Sun Aug 19, 2018 3:07 amThe thing is that I don't think the scum have actually gotten any items. But then, I play the whole game based on trusting my instincts. I always have. And I know it's arrogant.

There is this flaw... I admitted this at one point.MacDougall wrote: ↑Sun Aug 19, 2018 3:10 am Players are only at risk of being mislynched because they are at risk of being lynched. If the poll is only ever players nobody wants to lynch then how are we going to win?
But so far, we have not had a situation where every crew has passed a test on one night, and the tests are so variable that I actually think it would be quite difficult to achieve. So I imagine everyone will be open at some point (as, indeed, they have been).
