Coliniscool - I'm still torn on Colin. Because like im reading his stuff and i'm not really picking up a lot of things to place him as town or mafia. You understand what im saying right [mention]M Plus 7[/mention]? If i had to do a brief summary of colin, it's beef with kyle, waffle mac/sprit on day1. goes right for the next lynch in order on day2 (oh and DH is there). slight mafia

kylemii- lot's of sillyposting. Of the things notable there is a few interactions with alien and robot and of course his beef with colin. Looking at Kyle's ISO though i think kyle is more likely town than colin. Since it would appear colin's main argument is "you can totally be mafia cause of how you choose to play." in retrospect, kyle hasnt asked that many questions. maybe about 10 total? Slight Town.

lunalee - day zero has one reads post and fluff, day one she talks about mac/sprit feud and i still dont like how she chose to answer it. but im not gonna talk about this a third time. she later switches her case on the day 1 kerfuffle to a more neutral one after going around and talking with other players (tsaiah, MP). another reads post, and then we get to day 2 with the BIG reads post. Overall i've never played with luna acting like this, perhaps it's cause she's been scum in those games, or just busy? Overall I like what she's doing recently. Likely Town

Tsaiah - Lots of happy go lucky, especially during day 1 which consists of half their posts. That's not to say they constantly are being sure to assign their opinion of players to keep in the know. Their post about how alien was playing differently looked well to me and made me wonder why it wasnt pursued by them further at that point. Giving me the same look as lunalee except with more meta discussion. Likely Town

abyssum - Oh boy that's a lot of posts. I'll be skimming this for the most part. plus points for visible attempts at solving. I liked their questions to clarify my changing stance on mac during day 1 albeit i dont think it really went anywhere afterwards. Day 2 offered points in the alien interactions jay made, and responding to them. Again, more solving is clearly seen. Town

JaggedJimmyJay - Jay continues to show his persistence in acquisition of reads to slim down the POE. It feels methodolical and effective, helping us weed out the mafia.
M Plus 7 - While Jay is the cool control, quality poster. MP is the spastic, ever shifting opinions of players. the quantity. It works in his favor in my eyes, being that you can see his thought process, and he reads genuinely confident and committed to what he's putting out there. AKA tone read.
MacDougall - While I had my suspicions of mac based around how he was playing, that soon dissipated once the game got rolling. I'm not gonna harp again about mac, but he's a town pick from me at present.
Russtifinko - While i agreed with Russ' ISo of Alien, their ISO is lacking in overall interactions. It's been primarily between Mac, Jay, MP, and Alien. While Russ puts out rainbow lists and you can tell theyre reading the thread. There isnt any direct interaction. I personally find it peculiar, but Russ can make due on this tomorrow once theyre back from their trip.

Turnip Head - The man has said it himself, he is wearing the shitpost gloves. little anything alignment indicative outside of his voting. which even then there's not really an explanation to the methodology. A chaotic god to say the least on i aspire to be like someday

Marmot - Need i say anything? the guy participated in the GTH and that's it. He got some pro-town points from a few other people, but i'm still waiting for something. MP promises a clutch late game, but this game has been pretty heavy in the early part. (especially for a heist)

DharmaHelper - DH's play has been pretty selfish thus far. His main interactions (when not arguing with jay) is about how we are going about lynching players....And that's pretty much all i've got. I know he is one hell of a player when he wants to be.

RobotNerd277 - It's been nearly 48 hours since her last post. Whether that indicates giving up, or simply a lack of commitment to the thread is beyond me. The case against her is....Well I can't recall specifically the case (much like what i said previously in voting for alien last day phase). The GTH leaves Robotnerd as a negative read across our board of 6 players as well. My vote will go here today unless i find something in her short ISO to lead my otherwise. Any direct comments you can give me before i start this JaggedJimmyJay?Jay's case makes enough sense in regards to how she interacts with alien.

Hi! I guess my history would be that I started playing a couple years ago, mostly closed setups with my friends so we all knew each other pretty well so it was quite meta-orientated, then joined the champs this year and met M Plus 7 and now I'm here. Is that okay or did you want something else?

These are two pieces extracted from alien's first post. The first bit shades MP for throwing a little suspicion in Kyle's direction, suggesting that MP was forcing the issue for appearances' sake. I think that's a decent look for Kyle, in that for alien to make this assertion would more likely imply that MP's poo toss at Kyle is misguided (thus supporting the notion that MP was forcing the issue for bad reasons).

The second bit is idle chatter, answering Kyle's prompt for the sake of expanding his post.

I changed my mind on Kyle again. I don’t like this post. Even if he receives thorough responses from each of these people about their “history”, I have my doubts that he’d be likely to apply it to his hunting. It’s a question being asked for the sake of asking a question.

Inclined to agree with this, it's something I thought as well but forgot about it, I'm not sure why knowing everyone's history is that helpful and it seems a bit like busy work

alien tagged along with me when I gave Kyle some shit for the same idle chatter post. I think the general vibe here is that alien was thrilled that I gave him something else to gripe about, since he was having difficulty accusing anyone of anything apart from MP. I'll state some concern about the portion I highlighted though. "I forgot about it" could suggest that alien wanted to ensure he received some portion of the credit alongside me if his teammate got roasted. That feels like a reach, but it's in my head so take it or leave it.

alien was positive in his assessment of Kyle's response to those probes. Kyle's post in this exchange is one of his best moments, I think. He just looks like he is genuinely not already aware of what alien is doing.

I thought you were scumhunting/town hunting, or trying to look like you were at least, with that question, and I couldn't understand where you were going with it to sort anyone's alignment. So you saying that it was mainly just to make us feel welcome and get into the game made sense and so I'm fine with your answer.

An answer that wouldn't have satisfied me would have been one where you tried to insist it was helping you form a read on us that I didn't find genuine.

Kylemii - seems to be posting in a lighthearted way that could probably easily veer into detached, but i don't think it has yet. he posted asking people about their histories, and when Jay responded saying that he thought it reflected poorly on kyle, kyle turned that on its head with a question that i liked. generally a good look. he called me soft good which is better than normal good because it's softer and therefore better fight me. (actual impression: i think his reads list makes sense and doesn't feel like he's padding it or unnecessarily shading anyone).

overall doesn't feel like he's feeling a lot of pressure in particular, but is keeping up and doing his thing anyway. he's not posting in a high-volume/wordcount way but there's thoughts there that i don't have to fight for."

These bits are both pulled from alien's large reads list. The first portion features alien responding to abyssum's take on Kyle, and it seems to me that alien did not properly read abyssum's assertions before replying. They suggested that Kyle had not faced much pressure, and alien responded with "despite feeling pressure", implying he thought abyssum said Kyle had faced pressure. In this way, I think alien is cramming words into a post to inflate it, and Kyle is an incidental contact along the way.

The second bit is yet another "I don't remember Kyle's posts", which is silly given that he had directly interacted with Kyle multiple times prior to this. If the two of them are teammates, this would represent a very awkward strategy to adopt -- talk to each other off-and-on, and then pretend it never happened when it's time to generate reads. That doesn't make it impossible, but it makes it unusual.

When I’m scum I frequently will pose questions not necessarily related to anything in the thread that are juuuuust relevant enough to make it look like I’m attempting to solve. That’s what this post felt like.

This posts pings me. It's like he's trying so hard to act like he doesn't care about being town-read that he's going too far the other way. I don't get why a Townie doesn't think it matters to be town-read until day 3. As a townie surely you care about being mislynched?

I think this one is telling. Kyle left a nice juicy piece of bait in the thread (saying it's not important to be town-read until Day 3), and alien took the bait. alien desperately needed people to accuse of anything, and this mistake reflects that desperation. Good look for Kyle.

infected alien: I like their thing with Mac, I dont agree with it, but I like that it exists. I think when people walk into a new environment and make a big accusation based on borderline tinfoil telescopes, it's a brave thing, they don't know how that player will reacts or if they'll get lambasted. a civ is more likely to take that risk than mafia imo. they did a similar but sort of opposite thing later with defending dh against some of Jay's points, that confidence is a little more confusing...? people who've played with infected alien before, how would you characterize his gameplay? I think in general I like that they're not afraid to be contrary. but I'm also finding myself disagreeing with a lot of their thoughts, and in general i don't trust anyone who townreads me early without knowing me beforehand. so... idk. there's a lot here

Interactions of alien and Russtifinko

Things alien said to/about Russ

alien didn't acknowledge Russ in the game until Russ was giving him crap for the "Mac slip" thing. alien's specific language is telling I think:

"I didn't say I thought he slipped, I said I thought he possibly slipped, and that I didn't think it was genuinely a slip myself because he seemed Town other than that and my gut says it wasn't, but I wanted to point it out anyway to see if anyone else made anything of it."

This was a hard backtrack, and alien wanted to smooth over that shift with his qualifying language here. "No, Russ, that wasn't my meaning. I am now going to explain my much less significant, softer meaning..." -- This looks a lot like a mafioso being frozen by surprising severity of civilian scrutiny. He really wanted to get himself out of that dialogue, and he tried hard to change the way his slip ideas were characterized to reduce that severity.

It's pleasing to me that this comes before Russ's larger case and alien's responses to it, because I think it effectively reduces how believable any "Russ bussed alien" plot can be.

I am inclined to disagree on this one. I found Russ's take on your proposed Mac slip to be convoluted, in that the variables he introduced (primarily the relationship/experience you've had or not had with MacDougall) to be of shaky relevance, and I struggled to follow the thread of thought he was putting to paper.

Actually I can see that, I too was kind of confused as to where he was going with that, it felt like he was going to say that if I knew him it'd be worse for me because he said it would be a good 'revenge lynch', but then suddenly it was the opposite and I didn't quite feel like I was riding his thought process with him very well, which could be a sign he was kind of making it up as he went along I guess?

Russ is a "moderate mafia" read in alien's big reads list. He had tried previously to put out the fire, and it clearly failed. Russ only became more and more aggressive in his pursuit, and alien eventually turned that into a red read. This strikes me as a matter of obligation, something alien felt like he had to do for the sake of appearing authentic, and not as something with a hidden layer.

There's no need to investigate the things Russ said, because they're already covered above. This has me feeling more secure than I already was that it wasn't a calculated bus. I will expand on that further just in case anyone isn't certain either now or later in the game:

~ I don't think Russ returns to The Syndicate after a long hiatus, and in his first big move throws his own mafia teammate into a woodchipper.
~ I think this is even less likely when we also consider that alien is playing in his first game here. WELCOME ABOARD, ROOKIE. GET ROASTED.

Alright, so I think RobotNerd is spewed town (yay TMI) by Alien, and this alone is why she is placed in moderate town. The way Alien talks about Robot also reads very similarly to the way scum Alien talked about a low hanging fruit townie (dichotomousCreator) in wild cards 1, and I originally thought that as well, but then we ended up MLing him anyway because he independently looked scummy. I'd hesitate to make that mistake again here. Nonetheless we must consider Robot on her own merits and consider the possibility that Alien was defending a teammate here.

Could you talk more about the things that specifically had you feeling this way, even if you don't have the same perspective right now?
